①.表转折: but,however,instead,yet, on the contrary, actually/in fact,nevertheless,nonetheless等转折性词汇后的内容往往是出题点,文章核心态度,细节题、态度题的答案往往以转折后的内容为依据。
注意:“even if/as...”
Audio (音频) and video can feel more engaging than text, and so university teachers increasingly turn to these technologies — say, assigning an online talk instead of an article by the same person. However, psychologists have demonstrated that when adults read news stories, they remember more of the content than if they listen to or view identical pieces.
Some experts argue that urban expansion is the only way to boost economic growth. But the author holds that protecting historical areas can also drive sustainable development.
The theory sounds convincing and has been widely accepted in academic circles. Yet recent observations in real - world scenarios have exposed its key flaws.
The policy has received fierce criticism for being too strict and inflexible. Nevertheless, it has effectively reduced traffic accidents in the city over the past year.
5.while(尽管) 真题例句:While artificial intelligence can greatly improve work efficiency, it cannot replace the human ability to make complex moral judgments.
6.even(即使) 模拟题例句:
Yet even as shrinkflation comes with inflation, the problem doesn’t end after inflation does.
7.In fact(隐性转折)
Most people think that working overtime leads to higher productivity. In fact, the research shows that long working hours often result in lower efficiency and more mistakes.
Therefore
The development of AI has brought convenience but also raised ethical concerns such as privacy leaks and job displacement. Therefore, it is crucial to establish a set of strict regulations to guide the healthy development of artificial intelligence.
2. to sum up
To sum up, the key to solving the environmental problem lies in the joint efforts of governments, enterprises and individuals.
3.hence
The weather is bad; hence, the flight is cancelled.
4.All evidence supports the conclusion that... but more studies are required...
All evidence supports the conclusion that regular exercise improves sleep quality, but more studies are required to confirm its long-term effects on the elderly.
③.表程度或重要性的词汇: special,especially,highlight,favorite,key关键; the real magic(真正的魅力),particularly;one of the+最高级等;redefine重新定义; But equally important is ....等;
④.对比结构:more ...than...;not only...but also...;not...but...等结构中,more、but also、but后面的内容是题目喜欢考查的地方;
⑤.考查目的的常见结构一般有: with the aim of...in hopes of, intend to do...; hoping/ aiming to do sth; 不定式;
1. Similar phenomena include...
Many traditional skills are fading as modern technology develops. Similar phenomena include the decline of hand-weaving techniques, the loss of traditional woodcarving skills and the decreasing number of people who master paper-cutting art.
For example/For instance

such as
She likes outdoor activities such as hiking and camping.
in addition
In addition, the city has built many new parks to improve the environment.
技巧二:引号里面的某人说的话:往往考查“观点态度题”;
技巧三:同义替换法(选项句意或选项某部分意思和原文的某处意思是对应的);
如just→only;critical→important;explore→look into;stretch your body→loosen up等;
技巧四:如何选定标题(包括问main idea,what's the passage mainly about之类的):首尾呼应法,中心词汇复现法;
技巧五:含绝对化词汇(all,never,always,everything,only等)的选项优先排除(除非文章明确出现);
技巧六:细节拼凑选项直接划掉:把不同段落的零散单词拼凑而成的选项,大概率是陷阱;
技巧七:对错分半法(选项部分一部分符合原文,但另一部分不符合原文的选项,往往是错误的选项,干扰性很大);
技巧八: 问不同事物的共同点(what do they have in common ):注意描述性同义词置换;
We should...
We should pay more attention to the mental health of teenagers and provide them with timely psychological guidance.
2. The study has a limitation in that... Further research is needed to...
The study has a limitation in that the sample size is small; further research is needed to test the conclusion with a larger group of people.

According to a survey, 60% of students prefer online learning.
This may be because...
Some species of frogs are disappearing at an alarming rate. This may be because their habitats are being destroyed by deforestation and climate change.
The reason is that...
He failed the exam. The reason is that he didn't study hard.
because of
The sports meeting was put off because of the heavy rain.
due to
His success is due to his hard work and persistence.
技巧十四:说明文的说明方法主要有如下几种,即 列数据(listing statistics)、做比较(making comparison or contrast)、例证法(providing examples)、引用法(quoting and presenting experiments)、因果分析法(analyzing the cause and effect)、诠释法(making explanations)、定义法(giving a definition)、分类别(classify facts)、案例分析等
problem-solution type(问题-办法型) 。即“提出问题raise a problem--分析问题analyze the problem--解决问题give solutions”;
explanation of a subject(研究发现型)。即:
I.“(首段)介绍说明对象(如:一项研究)→研究评价→研究背景/原因分析 →研究方法/过程→研究意义/运用/不足及未来发展”;
II. (首段)介绍说明对象(如:一项新的科技产品)→产品特征、优势等(外形材质/功能/工作原理)→研发背景(同类型产品对比)→其他领域的运用→不足(挑战)及未来发展前景;
异同比较型(Compare and Contrast)。即“比较两个人或事物的相似点或差异”;
A、Problem Solution(问题 — 解决型)
Microplastics have become a common source of pollution across the Earth—they have settled in the deep sea and on the Himalayas, stuck inside volcanic rocks, filled the stomachs of seabirds and even fallen in fresh Antarctic snow. They are even appearing inside humans.
Now, new research suggests that a simple, cheap measure may significantly reduce the level of microplastics in water from your tap: boiling and filtering it. In a study published Wednesday in Environmental Science & Technology Letters, researchers from China found that boiling tap water for just five minutes—then filtering it after it cools—could remove at least 80 percent of its microplastics.
Crucially, this process relies on the water containing enough calcium carbonate to trap the plastics. In the study, boiling hard water containing 300 milligrams of calcium carbonate led to an almost 90 percent drop in plastics. But in samples with less than 60 milligrams of calcium carbonate, boiling reduced the level of plastics by just 25 percent.
Still, the findings show a potential path forward for reducing microplastic exposure — a task that’s becoming increasingly difficult. Even bottled water, scientists found earlier this year, contains 10 to 1,000 times more microplastics than originally thought.
B、Explanation of a Subject(事物阐释型)
Is comprehension the same whether a person reads a text onscreen or on paper And are listening to and viewing content as effective as reading the written word when covering the same material The answers to both questions are often “no.” The reasons relate to a variety of factors, including reduced concentration, an entertainment mindset and a tendency to multitask while consuming digital content.
When reading texts of several hundred words or more, learning is generally more successful when it's on paper than onscreen. A large amount of research confirms this finding. The benefits of print reading particularly shine through when experimenters move from posing simple tasks—like identifying the main idea in a reading passage—to ones that require mental abstraction—such as drawing inferences from a text.
The differences between print and digital reading results are partly related to paper's physical properties. With paper, there is a literal laying on of hands, along with the visual geography of distinct pages. People often link their memory of what they've read to how far into the book it was or where it was on the page.
But equally important is the mental aspect. Reading researchers have proposed a theory called “shallowing hypothesis.” According to this theory, people approach digital texts with a mindset suited to social media, which are often not so serious, and devote less mental effort than when they are reading print.
Educators shouldn't assume all media are the same even when they contain identical words. For maximising learning where mental focus and reflection are called for, print remains the better choice.
C、Cause Effect(现象 — 因果型)
A growing number of people are choosing to take a break from digital devices and social media. This trend, called “digital minimalism,” involves carefully selecting a few digital tools that add value to life and ignoring the rest.
There are several reasons for this shift. First, many people feel overwhelmed by the constant flood of information. Second, endless notifications and updates make it hard to focus. Third, excessive screen time has been linked to anxiety and poor sleep quality.
Digital minimalism brings noticeable benefits. People report improved concentration, deeper relationships and more time for offline activities. They also experience reduced stress and greater life satisfaction.
D、Comparison & Contrast(对比比较型)
Britain's eating habits have changed dramatically over the past century. A comparison between traditional and modern British diets reveals clear differences in ingredients, cooking methods and social values.
Traditional British diet is based on home-cooked meals, with meat, potatoes and vegetables as main components. It is often high in fat and salt, but valued for its simplicity and social nature—families and friends gather around the table to share food and stories.
Modern British diet, however, is dominated by fast food and ready meals. Busy lifestyles leave little time for cooking, so people rely on takeaways and processed food. While convenient, it is often high in sugar and lacks nutritional balance.
Both diets emphasize the importance of food in social life. The key difference lies in convenience, nutrition and cooking style: traditional diet is slow, home-made and less healthy; modern diet is fast, commercial and equally unhealthy.
While modern diet saves time, it comes at the cost of health and family bonding. A balanced approach combining the best of both might be the solution.

Teamwork is all about working together to achieve a common goal or purpose. Is teamwork out of date Why is it so hard to effectively conduct teamwork in those days
One way we employ teamwork in everyday lives is by becoming a parent. It is parents' job to teach their children the basic skills and give them the knowledge they need to be successful in life. This, to me, requires teamwork.For example, the mother teaches her children manners and good health skills, while the father teaches them how to catch a ball or drive a car. However, in today's society, we find that more and more parents are feeling that this teamwork is a one sided thing. According to a report, there are 13.7 million single parents raising their children in the US and this could be due to the fact that parents don't take responsibility for their children, so they leave one parent to do it alone. This is a sad fact, and it reflects that effective teamwork is losing ground in the parenting aspect of our everyday lives.
Another place where teamwork affects us greatly is in our jobs. It doesn't matter if you have a small company or a large company : if you have at least one employee and yourself, then teamwork works. I have noticed that with the current economic recession ( 衰退 ), people are racing to grab jobs but the quality of people's work has gone down greatly. It just appears to me that people do not take pride in their work any more. They get to work as fast as they can, just to receive the paycheck, but their quality standards fly right out of the window. So I think teamwork is losing ground in the workforce.
题目 The author wants us to believe his opinion by ________.
A.listing some data B.giving some examples
C.asking some questions D.analyzing some cases
11. Of course, politics is only one type of humor. Social humor helps people through the twists and turns of the human condition. American pop culture promotes an unhealthy self image. On the topic of self image, Hari Kondabolu stands out. He has a joke about the popular musical group“The Pussycat Dolls“,describing their hit song“Don ' t Cha”as a negative representation of women. He points out an obvious offence in American culture.
题目 The paragraph is developed mainly ________.
A.by example B.by process C.by comparison D.by classification
For people with diabetes who traditionally must prick (扎) their fingers multiple times daily to check blood sugar, sweat glucose (葡萄糖) monitoring could be life-changing. A study involving seven diabetic individuals found a strong link between sweat glucose and blood glucose levels when samples were collected properly to prevent contamination from the skin surface. Parkinson’s disease research has also produced particularly notable results. In one study involving 150 individuals, researchers examined sebum, the oily secretion (分泌物) often mixed with sweat, and found distinct fat-related substances in Parkinson’s patients compared to healthy individuals. These differences in fat composition could serve as disease markers.
题目How does the author present the application of sweat testing
A.By analyzing statistics. B.By stating arguments.
C.By giving examples. D.By explaining concepts.
根据第三段“For people with diabetes … Parkinson’s disease research has also produced particularly notable results.”
Staying active is crucial for both physical and mental health. If you’re stuck indoors, get up and stretch your body at least once in an hour. Break up your time spent being inactive by walking around your home or standing up from your chair when you are on phone. Any movement helps boost your mood and keep your body strong.
题目Which activity is recommended to keep you active in winter
Break up your time schedule.
B.Stay indoors and rest to avoid the cold.
C. Keep standing when on phone.
D.Get up and loosen up after sitting for long.
原文“If you’re stuck indoors, get up and stretch your body at least once in an hour. ”中的stretch your body和选项D 里的loosen up属于同义词。
(2024广州一模 D篇)There's a classic short story in which a young man travels years ahead and meets his future self. Narratives like this have always been related to science fiction. But what if you could meet your future self
I'm a psychologist and professor. My research over the past 15 years isn't far from this theme. I've largely focused on how people think about and relate to their future selves, and explored the reasons why we have such a hard time making long-term decisions. In my research, I've learnt that we often imagine our future selves like strangers, which can impede us in making long-term choices. One way to bridge the emotional gap is to think of future selves in more concrete and vivid ways, like writing letters to and from one's future self, which can strengthen the connection between current and future selves.
Admittedly, having people engage in an imagined conversation is a far cry from actually meeting one's future self. But it's believed that far richer interactions may happen in the near future through artificial intelligence (AI). It wouldn't be predicting exactly what choices you'd make. It'd be more about showing your potential, based on the lives of people similar to you: not just one possible life for you, but rather, the most possible life path for you. Such interactions could offer valuable insights into our potential future selves.
So, to return to my original question: if you could time-travel to meet your future self, what aspects of your life world you want to know more about I realized, through thorough reflections, that the most powerful questions would be ones that helped me make better choices today -- questions exploring personal growth, regrets and unfulfilled actions.
Actually, you don't need to wait for time travel or advanced AI for answers that you can act on. Through my research, I've learnt that simply taking a bit of time to picture this meeting can help you make better choices now. All you need is a little imagination, and the willingness to put yourself in the shoes of a person you currently treat as a stranger.
题目 Why is it difficult for people to make long-term decisions according to the author
A. Technology for time travel is not available.
B. Strangers cannot help with decision-making.
C. Writing letters to one's future self is impractical.
D. People find it hard to connect with their distant selves.
原文“... imagine our future selves like strangers, which can impede us in making long-term choices.”和D选项“find it hard to connect with...”
What does the underlined phrase "a far cry from" mean in paragraph 3
A. contradictory to B. very different from
C. not as convenient as D. less popular than
Admittedly, having people engage in an imagined conversation is a far cry from actually meeting one's future self.
Which of the following is a suitable title for the text
A. Time travel: What if you met your future self
B. My research: How do people view their future selves
C. Emotional gap: Why can't we talk with our future selves
D. Artificial intelligence: Is it possible to meet your future self
本文首段、第四段围绕「time travel, meet your future self」提出核心问题连续用 What if /if...
15 The American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once wrote: “Music is the universal language of mankind.” Music is everywhere. But why do we like it so much One idea is that we quickly learn the patterns of music, and our brains feel rewarded when they can “guess” what will come next. But it may go deeper than that.
Neural resonance (神经共振) theory, or NRT, proposes that, just as our body’s internal clock corresponds with the light and dark cycles of the Earth, our brains actually correspond with the pitch and rhythm of music. This may be why we enjoy music so much and why we can dance, keep time with a song, and even compose music. Edward W. Large says this isn’t just an abstract idea. “It’s literally the sound causing a physical resonance in the brain,” he told UConn Today. Along with other researchers from the US, the Netherlands, the UK and Canada, Large recently explained the principles of NRT. The researchers note, for example, that there’s evidence of our brains continuing to react to musical harmonies even after the sounds have stopped. And scans have shown activity in the brain that correlates with keeping time with music, even if the music doesn’t actually have a regular beat the listener can hear.
According to NRT, this resonance is what makes us want to move and dance and music connects not just to our ears and our brains, but even to our limbs and our spinal cords (脊髓). “This theory suggests that music is powerful not just because we hear it, but because our brains and bodies become it,” said Caroline Palmer, one of the researchers. “That has big implications for medical application, education and technology,” Palmer said.
The researchers say that NRT can give us insight into how the brain and body are connected, how music communicates emotion and how our understanding of the effects of music could be applied to brain health in the future.
题目 What can be a suitable title for the text
A. NRT: An Answer to Musical Harmonies
B. Music: The Universal Language of Mankind
C. Brain Resonance: The Secret to Our Love of Music
D. Brain Health: A Futuristic Trend in Medical Science
原文16(2024广东省一模C篇)Yet even as shrinkflation comes with inflation, the problem doesn’t end after inflation does. Once the new sizes are on the shelf, they are likely to stay that way. “Shoppers don’t have a choice. They have to adapt themselves to the changes,” adds Stiving. There are rare exceptions, but companies generally take the opportunity to get more profits.
题目 What is paragraph 3 mainly about
A. The concerns of shoppers. B. The interests of companies.
C. The impact of shrinkflation. D. The phenomenon of inflation.
原文17.(2024广东省一模C篇)For many companies, shrinkflation seems to be unavoidable. In food industry, for example, where customers are highly sensitive to price, lifting prices might make customers jump ship to another brand. But facing the continuous inflation, the companies have to do something to maintain their profits. Introducing small reduction in the size of their goods should enable them to improve profits while keeping their prices competitive. But once customers notice the change, they might feel fooled, leading to a loss of trust and confidence.
题目 What is the author’s attitude to the shrinkflation in paragraph 4
Favorable. B. Objective. C. Dismissive. D. Unclear.
18. Most parents believe that strict rules are the best way to raise well - behaved children. However, a recent educational study indicates that positive communication and emotional support are more effective in developing children’s self - discipline and sense of responsibility. While punishment may stop bad behavior temporarily, it fails to teach kids how to make correct choices voluntarily.
题目 What is the author’s main view on raising children
Strict rules are the key to well - behaved kids.
Positive communication works better than strict rules.
Punishment can solve children’s behavioral problems completely.
Parents should focus on stopping bad behavior first.
解题思路:表转折(but,however,instead,on the contrary, actually/in fact,nevertheless,nonetheless等)的句子部分往往是出题题点,也往往是选项正确答案的依据。本文However 后是作者核心观点,否定前文“strict rules”的主流看法,强调“positive communication and emotional support”更有效;while 让步也佐证惩罚的局限性,对应选项B 。
Brucoli, Sicily

Olbia area, Sardinia
The Olbia area on the northeastern coast offers a diverse selection of beaches, from the lively Spiaggia Lido diPitolongu with its water sports facilities to the quiet Cala Brandinchi, with its fine white sand and waters of perfect visibility.

A. They both have large water parks that cater to families.
B. They both offer a wide variety of beaches, from lively to quiet.
C. They are both characterized by exceptionally transparent sea water.
D. They are both famous for their crescent - shaped beaches with soft sand.
20 The current school physical education system has a limitation in that it focuses too much on competition rather than students’ overall fitness. We should adjust the curriculum to include more fun sports like frisbee and yoga. To make students more active, schools ought to provide more sports facilities and organize regular outdoor activities.
题目 What suggestions does the author put forward
A. Focus more on competitive sports in PE.
B. Add interesting sports and improve sports facilities.
C. Include frisbee and yoga into the curriculum.
D. Ignore students’ overall fitness.
21 The number of young people interested in traditional crafts is dropping sharply. This may be because modern entertainment forms are more attractive to them. Also, their decreasing interest is due to the fact that learning traditional crafts takes much time but brings little economic benefit.
题目 Why are fewer young people into traditional crafts
Traditional crafts are too easy to learn.
Modern entertainment is less appealing.
Learning traditional crafts is time - consuming and not profitable.
There are no courses on traditional crafts in schools.
This may be because... 和 due to...
22 Scientists have found that spending 20 minutes daily in nature can significantly reduce stress levels in teenagers, as shown by a 2024 survey involving 1,500 high school students. Research shows that students who do so have 30% lower cortisol (压力激素) than those who stay indoors all day.
题目 What can we learn from the studies mentioned in the passage
A. Staying indoors helps reduce teenagers’stress.
B. 20 minutes in nature can relieve stress levels in teenagers.
C. 1,500 students have high cortisol levels.
D. 20 - minute daily outdoor time lowers teens’stress.
Scientists have found that... 和 Research shows that...
23 When reading texts of several hundred words or more, learning is generally more successful when it’s on paper than onscreen. A large amount of research confirms this finding. The benefits of print reading particularly shine through when experimenters move from posing simple tasks — like identifying the main idea in a reading passage — to ones that require mental abstraction — such as drawing inferences from a text.
题目 What does the underlined phrase “shine through” in paragraph 2 mean
A Seem unlikely to last. B. Seem hard to explain.
C. Become ready to use. D. Become easy to notice.
根据前文“When reading texts of several hundred words or more, learning is generally more successful when it’s on paper than onscreen. A large amount of research confirms this finding.(当阅读几百字或更多的文本时,在纸上学习通常比在屏幕上学习更成功。大量的研究证实了这一发现)”可知,在纸上学习更有成效,以及后文“when experimenters move from posing simple tasks — like identifying the main idea in a reading passage — to ones that require mental abstraction — such as drawing inferences from a text.(当实验人员从提出简单的任务(如识别阅读文章的主旨)转移到需要思维抽象的任务(如从文本中推断)时)”推知,此处应是表达“当实验者从简单的任务转向需要精神抽象的任务时,纸质阅读的益处就变得显而易见”之意,所以shine through应是“显而易见”之意,故选D。
