The thing that I really miss most is staying with my grandma in the countryside when I was a child. I usually went to visit her every summer holiday. She lived in a small house with a big garden.
Grandma was very kind and she always cooked delicious food for me. We often picked vegetables and fruits in the garden together. In the evening, we sat under the big tree and listened to her stories about her childhood. I was always delighted when I was with her.
We did many interesting things together. We fed the chickens, caught butterflies and went fishing by the river. Sometimes we even climbed the small hill behind her house. I had so much fun there.
A few years later, I stopped going there because we grew up. I started middle school and had a lot of homework to do. My grandma also moved to the city to live with us. But I still miss the days we spent in the countryside.
Nowadays, I don't have much time to stay with my grandma. I wish I could go back to the countryside again to remember all those good times that we had in my childhood.

Though forests cover about 31 per cent of the earth's land surface, there's still a lot we don't know about them. Only about 10 per cent of the forest species have been discovered, and the remaining 90 per cent is still a secret to us. Some scientists even think that 80 per cent of land animals have yet to be discovered.
So why do we know so little about the forests Well, getting to those deep forests is very difficult and requires high technology that simply didn't come into being for most of human history. The first modern forest survey, for example, was done in 1850, and it couldn't go more than 10 kilometres into the forest. In fact, for a long time many scientists didn't even think that there could be any life in the deep forests. However, this changed in 1900 when many new species were discovered in the Amazon rainforest with the help of new transportation.
Since then, high technology has been developed to help explore the forests, including drones and satellites. But why is forest exploration still so difficult Well, in deep forests it is very wet, everything is completely dark, and there are many dangerous animals.
Though we have the difficulties, it's important that we understand the forests. They help control the earth's temperature and produce most of the oxygen in the air. They can also provide us with information about climate change. Our future depends on learning more about our forests, and it is possible for us to really understand what is going on inside them.
( )4. Why are numbers listed in Paragraph 1
A. To introduce how important forests are.
B. To discuss why forest species have yet to be found out.
C. To explain that forests cover a large area of the earth.
D. To show that we have only a little understanding of forests.
( )5. What caused the change of exploration into the deep forests
A. High technology. B. Unknown species.
C. A pleasant environment. D. Valuable information.
( )6. What does the underlined word "They" in the last paragraph refer to
A. Land animals. B. The forests.
C. The satellites. D. Many scientists.
( )7. What can we learn from the text
A. It is difficult to build a modern forest survey.
B. The forests have a strong influence on our future.
C. The forests have no lives in the deep areas.
D. It is easier to go into the deep forests than we think.
