Because of one pig, over 100, 000 people came together. It sounds unbelievable, but it really happened.
In Hechuan District, Chongqing, a young woman called Dai Dai posted a short video online. Her parents were too old to hold down a pig for the Spring Festival tradition, so she asked the internet for help and promised to treat helpers to “Pao Zhu Tang” (a traditional soup after the pig was killed). She even joked that she hoped the road in front of her house would be crowded with cars.
To everyone’s surprise, people from all over China came to help within days. Some drove overnight, some waited at the village entrance at dawn, and one even flew from Beijing.
They brought local vegetables, spices and gifts, and worked together to hold the pig, wash vegetables, cut meat and cook soup.
Local government soon joined in — traffic police, power workers and cultural teams all offered help. More pigs were prepared, big fires were lit, and fireworks lit up the night sky.
What started as a family problem turned into a cultural festival. Hotels were fully booked, local products sold out, and tourism boomed.
Beyond the amazing numbers, this event showed a deeper truth: In a fast digital world, warmth can still spread far, sincerity (真诚) can still bring people together, and one common person can light up a whole town. It all began with kindness and became an unforgettable memory.
24. Why did Dai Dai post a video online
A. To start a cultural festival.
B. To ask for help from others.
C. To show her parents’ daily life.
25. How did people show their support
A. By bringing gifts and working together.
B. By posting videos online to help.
C. By asking the government to join in.
26. What does the underlined word “boomed” mean in Paragraph 6
A. Stopped completely. B. Became difficult. C. Grew quickly.
27. What’s the writer’s main purpose in writing the text
A. To show the power of kindness.
B. To introduce local food culture.
C. To tell a funny family story.

A study shows that more than 50% of articles online are written by artificial intelligence. This fact makes many people wonder: Will human writers disappear one day
When people talk about AI, they often worry about its problems. Some feared that AI-made fake (虚假的) videos would trick people and cause serious trouble. However, studies later showed that these fears were too strong. Although fake videos did increase people’s doubts, they did not actually cause the disasters that many expected.
For writers and artists, the biggest worry is about jobs. AI can write faster than any human because it has learned from millions of texts. Many part-time writers who used to create blog posts and social media content (内容) have already lost their jobs. But AI writing is not as scary as it seems. First, AI is mainly used for simple and fixed writing, such as how-to guides, product descriptions, and news reports. It is not good at creative work that shows personal style and original (原创的) ideas. Second, AI itself learns from human writing, so it cannot truly take the place of human creativity.
Interestingly, the line between human and AI writing is becoming unclear. Many writers now use AI as a tool. They may write a draft (草稿) first, let AI improve it, and then edit (编辑) it again. The writer of this article, for example, uses AI to check his English because it is not his first language. However, using AI too much has problems. Studies show that writers who depend heavily on AI often produce similar content. Their writing loses personal voice and follows Western patterns. This means original human writing will become even more valuable in the future.
In short, AI is changing how we write, but it will not make human writers useless. Creative work with personal style remains important and necessary.
28. How does the writer start the topic
A. By telling a story. B. By listing a number. C. By making a comparison.
29. What can we know about AI writing from Paragraph 3
A. It works well for creative novels.
B. It is mainly used for fixed writing tasks.
C. It always does better than human writers.
30. What problem may writers face if they depend too much on AI
A. Their writings will lose personal voice.
B. Their ability to write may be lost completely.
C. Their ideas become more creative and original.
31. What can be the best title for the text
A. How to Use AI to Write Better
B. The History of AI Development
C. AI Writing: Friend or Enemy

The 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala (春晚) presented a wonderful dance called He Hua Shen, which means Celebrating the Flower Gods. It is full of traditional Chinese beauty and wins high praise from people of different ages. Many young people regard it as the most beautiful and touching program at the gala, and they fall deeply in love with its art style and deep culture.
The dance tells the story of the twelve flower gods. Every god stands for a special flower of each month, such as the plum blossom (梅花), peach flower, lotus and narcissus (水仙花). These beautiful flowers show the beauty of the four seasons and carry rich traditional cultural meanings in China. They also show the warmth and hope of the Spring Festival.
At the very beginning of the dance, a gentle jade pendant (玉佩) appeared slowly in soft light. It is a symbol of peace, purity and good luck in Chinese culture. The dancers wore amazing traditional costumes with bright colors and lovely styles from ancient Chinese art. The whole show fully shows the eastern beauty.

Dear Tom,
I’m glad to receive your email. I’d like to tell you something about our convenient daily life.
The most convenient scene in my daily life is mobile payment. We seldom take cash when we go out every day. When we shop in supermarkets, buy breakfast or take the bus, we can just pay with our mobile phones quickly. We don’t need to wait for a long time or worry about losing money. It makes our daily life easier and more comfortable. I enjoy this convenient lifestyle very much and I feel really proud of the fast development of our country.
I hope you can come to China and experience our convenient life by yourself. I’m looking forward to seeing you.
Yours,
