Nowadays, we have many different kinds of technologies to protect us from different disasters. We can even know where and when some disasters, like the typhoon, the flood and the earthquake, happen. While most of the new technologies are far away from us, some around us can help people in disasters.
The drone (无人机) is one of them. It can be used to send things like food and water when a natural disaster happens. It’s often too dangerous for the rescue teams to get into the buildings. So they make the drone fly into the buildings to search for those who are still alive. The drone is also a useful tool for firefighters to find and fight wildfires. In some faraway places in the world, drones are the fastest way to send medicine to people who are in great need of it.
Social media platforms (平台) are also useful when it comes to natural disasters. With their help, people can know about the natural disasters before they hit. And some social media platforms allow people to mark themselves as safe after disasters, so others can know their situations.
Social media platforms are also places for up-to-date news, so people can learn what is going on in disaster areas. Besides, many social media platforms allow people to donate (捐赠) money to help people in disaster areas. The money will help them get back to their normal life as soon as possible. For example, live streaming (直播) helped raise a lot of money for Henan after the flood in 2021.

Few film series have seen China’s film market grow so fast as Avatar has.
In January 2010, when the first Avatar was released (上映), the Chinese mainland had only 4,700 screens in 1,680 cinemas, with just 14 IMAX screens. Now, 15 years later, China has over 92,550 screens (nearly 800 IMAX) in more than 15,430 cinemas more than any other country. Chinese movie fans now have many great ways to watch Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third film of the series, like CINITY, IMAX and Dolby. By Monday, this 198-minute film had made over 700 million yuan in China and stayed at the top of the daily box office since Dec 19.
What makes Chinese fans proud is that Chinese technology plays a big role in showing the film. CINITY, a screening system made by a Beijing company, was used for the film’s Chinese premiere in Sanya in December. It’s the first Hollywood movie shown in China with CINITY’s special format (LED, 3D, 4K, 48 frames per second), making the watching experience more real. Director James Cameron even had a CINITY screen in his New Zealand studio, set up by Chinese workers in 15 days.
Cameron first thought of Avatar at 19 and wrote the script in 1995.He said the most important thing in making films is acting, not just technology. The new film tells the story of the Sully family on Pandora, facing new enemies. Chinese stars like Zhang Ziyi and Deng Chao dubbed (配音) the film in Mandarin. Deng said Avatar is like an old friend and a teacher to him. The film’s themes about family, courage and nature are meaningful for people all over the world.

Getting medical help in China is now easier than before. With the development of new technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) is used in many smart tools for our health. These changes make healthcare better and more convenient (便利的) for people of all ages.
First, online AI doctors can give quick advice to people. For example, there is an app called AQ. People can talk to AI doctors on this app at any time. The AI doctors have learned a lot from the experienced doctors about common health problems. By chatting on the smartphone, people can find out what might be wrong with their health. The robotic suit is made by a company (公司) from Shenzhen. Each suit weighs only about 1.8 kilograms. People can put it around the waist (腰) and legs easily. With smart technology, it can feel how fast people walk, and give people help at the right time to make them feel less tired.
Visitors can pay 60 to 80 yuan for one suit per person a day. A 68-year-old tourist named Li Chengde tried one. He said, “It works well! After putting it on, my legs felt more comfortable. It felt like someone was pulling me up.”

四、短文还原(共5小题,计5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项。
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a hot topic in our daily lives. Its growing use in our lives has led to different ideas about it. 41
Some people believe that AI is a great tool that can make our lives better. AI works as a smart helper in many fields, like education, healthcare and so on. In education, if students have trouble with math problems, AI can help them solve problems step by step. 42 For example, collecting and entering data is boring work, but AI can do it well. This way, people have more time for interesting and creative projects. AI also helps people make fewer mistakes, especially in healthcare. 43 Most importantly, it can do dangerous jobs, like working in deep water or high places, to keep workers away from harm.
44 One risk is that students may use AI to cheat on homework. If they depend too much on AI, they won’t learn to think on their own. Another problem is the spread of false information. Sometimes AI creates something that looks real, and it’s hard for people to tell what is true and what is not. Besides, depending on AI too much may also make people lose basic skills, such as communicating or writing, and weaken their ability to solve problems in real life.
In my opinion, AI will keep developing. 45 If we use it wisely, it can make life better and safer for everyone. As AI grows smarter, let’s grow wiser too!
A.It helps doctors with their problems.
B.Let’s look at both sides of the discussion.
C.However, others think AI also brings risks.
D.It is not perfect and still has a long way to go.
E.AI can also take on boring and repeated tasks.
F.We should think about how to use AI in schools.
G.I wonder whether AI will completely replace (代替) human workers soon.

参考答案及试题解析
1.D
【解析】句意:当我妹妹正在看电视时,我正在客厅里听音乐。
根据后半句“I was listening to music”可知句子时态为过去进行时,while引导的从句表示两个动作同时发生,也应用过去进行时。主语my sister是第三人称单数,be动词用was,应填was watching。
2.D
【解析】句意:总的来说,学生们每天花费大约一小时做运动。
In general总的来说,通常;In common共同点;In total总共;On average平均。
根据“before going into the mountains”可知进入山区需要携带补给品,且medical supplies为固定搭配,意为“医疗物资”。
4.D
