1主题目标:学完本单元后,学生能够深人理解帮助他人的意义,积极探索帮助他人的方法,培养助人为乐的意识,并表达助人后的体会与思考。
2结果产出:学生制订帮助他人的一日计划。
3 评价标准:
(1)学生能够介绍受助者的基本情况。
(2)学生能够描述帮助他人的计划,包括具体的援助措施、时间、地点等要素。
(3)学生能够预判可能面临的挑战,并描述助人的预期结果。
(4)学生能够尽可能多地使用本单元的核心词汇,尤其是生词。
(5)学生能够正确使用情态动词(must,may,can)。

The nursing home in our neighbourhood is looking for more volunteers. They don’t have enough workers or money to support the elderly’s needs.
There must be something we can do to help. For example, we can visit the nursing home this Saturday. First, we could help with cleaning. Then, we could teach the elderly to use smartphones.
The work is by no means easy – we need to understand how the elderly think and be very patient with them.
We are sure to learn a lot from these activities, and the elderly may feel happy and cared for. Our small actions can bring warmth and joy to their lives. And we will feel happy, too.
Collect others’ opinions and make improvements.
Evaluate the contributions of each member in the group.

Grammar
may / might:
当我们想表达可能发生某事以及某人可能做某事时,可以用may / might表示。
在表示现在或将来的可能情况时,might表示的可能性比may表示的可能性要小一些。
can / could:
can和could除了表示“能够,可以”等意义之外,还可以表示对现在或将来的推测,意为“会,可能”。但can表示推测时,往往用于否定句和疑问句。用于疑问句时,can比could表示的可能性要大;用于否定句时,cannot (can’t)表示“不可能”。could则可用于肯定句、否定句和疑问句。
must:
must也可以表示猜测,意为“一定,肯定”,通常只用于肯定句。
