The Best Movies of the Past Years
The Kid
It sometimes seems there’s an invisible force in the universe that we must all love Charlie Chaplin.
His character in the movie finds an abandoned baby on the street and takes him home. These two
are both a family and a team, held close by genuine joy in one another’s company. When they’re
torn apart, it’s heartbreaking; when they’re reunited, it restores our faith in the order of the
universe. Like many of Chaplin’s projects, the production of the film was full of humor.
Bicycle Thieves
There are few greater film-watching experiences than Bicycle Thieves. On Antonio’s first day of
work, his bicycle is stolen, and he and his young son Bruno set out to get it back, a quest of
desperation and need that at first strengthens the father-son bond, before nearly tearing it apart.
What is even more impressive is that the director used no studio sets — all of the settings are
real-life locations in Rome.
The Night of the Shooting Stars
The movie, set in Tuscany, follows a group of citizens who leave their village just before their
houses are set to be blown up by the Nazis (纳粹 ). The story is told through the eyes of
six-year-old Cecilia, who sees the event as a great adventure. The movie is a mixture of comedy,
fantasy and sorrowful drama.
The Diary of Anne Frank
During World War II, in Holland under Nazi control, a shopkeeper and his wife decide to hide the
Frank and Van Daan families in a secret room behind their store. For more than two years, they
stay hidden, always afraid and unable to go outside because of the danger from the Nazis. In her
diary, she talks about her feelings, like hope and sadness, and how people connect with each other
in such a difficult situation.
21. What type of film might The Kid be
A. History. B. Comedy. C. Romance D. Science fiction.
22. Which aspect of Bicycle Thieves might impress the audiences most
A. Its exciting plot. B. Its special effects. C. Its excellent actors. D. Its filming spots.
23. What do The Night of the Shooting Stars and The Diary of Anne Frank have in common
A. They are of the same type. B. They have elements of comedy.
C. They involve the influence of wars. D. They have the same shooting angle.

He Jiang made history by becoming the first Chinese student to make a graduation speech at Harvard
University. This was a significant moment when a voice from China was projected onto one of the world’s most
influential academic stages.
His speech opened with a childhood story from a small village in Hunan Province. After a spider bite, his
mother treated it with a traditional folk method using fire, because there were no doctors nearby. Later, at Harvard,
where he studied biochemistry, he realized that heat could stop the proteins (蛋白质) in the spider’s poison from
working. But the memory of the pain stayed with him, showing the unfair situation in world science and medicine.
This painful memory drove him to major in medicine, determined to improve healthcare for people in rural areas.
After graduating from one top Chinese university, he entered Harvard. In the speech, he thanked his family for
helping him develop a strong will and work hard in his studies. His father, whose own chances were limited by
little schooling, always stressed the importance of education, while his mother’s steady support helped him through
difficult times.
It was with this toughness that he finally won the speaking honor through a strict three-round competition
involving writing and speech tests. Adapting to a new culture and language was challenging at first, but he
gradually found his place by taking part in campus life. His speech skillfully combined his own story into a
universal call for sharing knowledge.
Today, as a researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) studying diseases, He Jiang continues
to build bridges by writing in English about rural China, aiming to build deeper global understanding of his
homeland. “I want more voices from China to be heard,” he said. His journey perfectly shows this goal, proving
how an individual story can share a nation’s voice in the world’s conversation.
24. Why did He Jiang begin his speech with the spider bite story
A. To describe his childhood in a small village.
B. To give advice on the unfair global situation.
C. To share a traditional treatment of spider bite.
D. To explain the reason why he studied medicine.
25. Which of the following best describes He Jiang
A. Talented but uncaring. B. Adaptable and humorous.
C. Intelligent but unfortunate. D. Determined and responsible.
26. What does He Jiang hope to achieve through his current work
A. To speed up development in rural China.
B To promote global understanding of China.
C. To make achievements in medical research.
D. To encourage more students to study medicine.
27. What is the best title of the passage
A. Overcoming Challenges: A Chinese Student at Harvard
B. Winning a Speech: Success in an Academic Competition
C. Connecting Worlds: A Journey Through Science and Story
D. Bridging the Gap: Between Traditional and Modern Medicine

On Thursday, at its 20th regular meeting in India’s capital, a UNESCO committee decided to move China’s
“Hezhen Yimakan storytelling” from the Urgent (急需的 ) Protection List to the World Representative List of
Intangible (非物质) Cultural Heritage. In recognition of the great progress made in preserving this tradition, the
committee also decided to include the protection program for Hezhen Yimakan storytelling in the Register of Good
Protection Practices. This achievement marks a successful transition of a heritage project into the representative list.
It’s also the first example of a project that has been transitioned and added to the Register of Good Protection
Practices at the same time.
China now has 45 projects included in UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage lists, the highest number of
entries of any country in the world.
The Hezhe people live in the Heilong-Songhua-Ussuri-river region of northeastern China. With a population
of just over 5,000, they are among China’s smallest ethnic (民族的 ) groups, Yimakan storytelling is a rich oral
tradition that has been passed down through generations. It is performed in the Hezhe language. It mixes spoken
stories with singing to share the history, hero tales, fishing and hunting life, traditions, and values of the Hezhe
people. This tradition plays a key role in recording history, educating future generations, and providing fun.
Since it was added to the Urgent Protection List in 2011, many have collaborated to help this tradition.
Community members, artists, schools, cultural centers, and government bodies have all made efforts to make sure it
stays alive and becomes better known.
In December 2023, China sent a report to UNESCO about how this cultural heritage was being protected, and
asked to move it to the Representative List. In December 2024, the committee reviewed and agreed with the report.
They praised China’s efforts and encouraged people to keep doing and pass it on, stressing that the local
community should take part in protecting it.
28. Why was Hezhen Yimakan storytelling moved to the Representative List
A. It is no longer at urgent survival risks.
B. It has been popular in neighbor countries.
C. It has made great achievements in protection.
D. It has changed its form to fit modern times.
29. What is the key role of Yimakan storytelling
A. It keeps various dialects alive. B. It promotes the local tourism.
C. It passes down history and values. D. It replaces local written records.
30. What does the underlined word “collaborated” in paragraph 4 mean
A. Observed actively. B. Worked together.
C. Controlled seriously. D. Taught carefully.
31. What is the purpose of the last paragraph
A. To show the strict rules for listing heritage.
B. To praise local communities’ protection efforts.
C. To explain the process of China’s heritage application.
D. To present UNESCO’s encouragement for China’s work.
D
Getting the most out of going to galleries involves more than just showing up. While a casual approach — “I
don’t know much about art, but I know what I like” — might satisfy some, truly appreciating a painting requires a
determination to go deeper.
Trust your eyes. The visual arts are not called the visual arts for nothing. Art is made to be looked at. And
when your eyes decide whether they like something or not, they are drawing on the experience of a lifetime. So
trust your eyes when they whisper their first impressions. Why do so many people love Van Gogh’s Sunflowers
The moment you see them, they feel uplifting, joyous, and instantly pleasurable, reminding your eyes of the colour,
mood and joy of a sunny day.
Your eyes may be the most important organ for looking at art, but the heart runs them a close second. When
we look at a painting, we get somebody’s message sent to us. One heart is trying to speak to another. Take
Daughters Chasing a Butterfly by Thomas Gainsborough for example. The first thing to feel is, of course, the artist’
s love for his little girls. To my eyes, it’s entirely unmissable. The two girls, their faces recorded with so much
insider skills, are chasing a butterfly, which has landed on a prickly (有刺的) plant. When they try to grab it, they
might get hurt. So a loving daddy hasn’t just painted his love for his daughters. He has also painted — and this is
where the heart comes in — his fears for them.
If you judge art by your own level of competence or understanding, you’re looking at art through a blindfold.
In Truner’s The Fighting Temeraire, the old boat, bathed in an orange and purple sunset, is packed with
significance and symbolism about a lost life and the end of the road. Just look at the power, the intensity, the
volcanic brilliance of his depiction (描绘 ). Instead of limiting your appreciation to what you like, expand it to
include what many others have liked before you.
Like all life’s profound pleasures, looking at art is a complex business. More accurately, it’s a pleasure with
many layers and stages. But for the experienced art lover, the real joy is in the build-up, the delicious journey, the
awesome pay-off.
32. What are viewers advised to do first in looking at art
A. Go over the history of art. B. Draw on artists’ experience.
C. Compare with other artwork. D. Rely on initial visual impressions.
33. Why is Gainsborough’s painting mentioned in paragraph 3
A. Love is popular in family-themed paintings.
B. Viewing art involves heart-to-heart connection.
C. Art is a visual record of an artist’s personal life.
D. Viewers are easily struck by the skills of artists.
34. What does the author suggest about judging art in paragraph 4
A. Considering others’ opinions. B. Trusting your own judgment.
C. Sticking to personal taste. D. Turning to realistic works.
35. What is the text mainly about
A. How to better engage with art. B. How to read artists’ emotion.
C. How to better evaluate visual arts. D. How to analyze famous paintings.
第二节(共 5小题;每小题 2.5分,满分 12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
How to express hurt feelings
Expressing hurt feelings can be challenging, especially for teenagers. 36 Luckily, there are some
simple techniques on how to effectively express your hurt feelings.
37 Before you approach someone to tell them that they’ve hurt your feelings, identify exactly why you
feel hurt. It’s important to give a specific reason for your hurt feelings so that you can express this to the person
who hurt you. If you’re unsure about why you feel hurt, review what happened in your mind or write about it.
Take a few deep breaths and try to relax. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by your emotions, take a few deep
breaths in and out before speaking with the persons. 38 You may also find it hard to communicate what
you’re feeling if you are overcome with emotions. If taking deep breaths doesn’t seem to help, try taking a brisk
(轻快的) walk or doing push-ups. This will help to release endorphins (内啡肽) and clear your head.
Use “I” statements to communicate what you’re feeling. 39 Instead, express your feelings by using “I”
rather than “you”. Explain the issue in an objective way. This will be less likely to put the person on the defensive.
For example, you might say, “I felt hurt that I didn’t get a call to tell me you couldn’t make it yesterday.”
Listen carefully to the other person’s response. After you’ve expressed your hurt feelings, give the other
person a chance to respond. Listen to what they have to say with your full attention. They might not have realized
they hurt you, or they may have a different view on the situation. 40
A. Be specific in your description.
B. Think about what you’re feeling and why.
C. Avoid finding fault with the person for how you feel.
D. You can express your feelings in a more reasonable way.
E. Having an open dialogue can lead to a better understanding and agreement.
F. However, it’s important to communicate to keep your emotional well-being.
G. Talking to them when you’re feeling angry, stressed, or tearful can make matters worse.

“All right, class, settle down!” my teacher, Ms. Garcia, announced. “Today, you are going to write about your
best friend in real life. I want specific details. Begin!”
I sat with my pencil over my paper. For a moment, I hesitated. I knew I didn’t really have someone like that.
Still, I lowered my head and began to write: My best friend is Hayley. She plays the cello (大提琴), like I do, and
we go to orchestra every Saturday. She makes people laugh, and whenever I feel nervous, she tells me, “You’ve got
this.: We’ve been best friends since fourth grade. I knew Hayley wasn’t real, but it was easier than explaining why I
didn’t have a best friend.
In fact, there was a girl in my orchestra class, Emily, who usually practiced the cello in the music room. Once,
she helped me adjust my bow hold after a rehearsal (排练) and gave me an encouraging smile. “You’ve got this,”
she said softly. I had also seen her patiently help another student work through a difficult passage, never showing
the slightest impatience. We didn’t talk much because I was too shy to start a conversation, but I couldn’t forget her
kindness. Without realizing it, I had borrowed pieces of her to create Hayley.
At school, I didn’t have real friends. My classmates were polite and kind, but I was just too hesitant and shy to
be the first to reach out. When I needed someone, I didn’t know who to turn to. When loneliness came over, I
would imagine someone like Emily beside me, her gentle voice offering encouragement. She was the friend I
wished I could have.
The next day, Ms. Garcia returned my essay with a bright red “A”. “Hayley sounds wonderful! I’ve signed
you and her up to perform a cello duo (二重奏) at next Friday’s Cultural Festival.” My heart skipped a beat. The lie
I had built for protection suddenly turned into a trap. I was totally at a loss.
注意:
(1)续写词数应为 150个左右;
(2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Anxious, I decided to turn to Ms. Garcia.
The next day, I went to the music room to find Emily.2026春高一期中考试英语学科考试答案解析
