Some first-time experiences are unforgettable, and they are also important. They may open up a new world and help us grow. Here are some of my unforgettable first-time experiences.

Complete the Your Discovery box.
We can use the past simple to talk about completed actions in the past.
Affirmative form: 主语 + 动词过去式 + 其他
Negative form: 主语 + did not (didn’t) + 动词原形 + 其他
Time expressions: at the age of 5, three years ago, last time, yesterday, in 2020, etc.
Past forms of verbs:
① 规则变化：加 - ed（如 watch→watched, train→trained）；以 e 结尾加 - d（like→liked）；辅音 + y 结尾变 y 为 i+ed（study→studied）；重读闭音节双写尾字母 + ed（stop→stopped）
② 不规则变化：如 am/is→was, are→were, go→went, eat→ate, win→won 等
I’m now quite good at making vlogs, but when I started out, I didn’t know what I was doing. It 1 that my first video wasn’t great! Two years ago, I gave my first English speech in front of the whole school. I was so nervous that I forgot my lines at first. But I took a deep breath and kept going.
