The baby-sitter came.
“Go back to bed",said Dad.
The children came downstairs.
“We couldn't sleep,"they said.
Kipper got his books.He wanted a story.
Biff was hungry.

The children went back bed.
"What a mess!"said the baby-sitter.

1. 表达意愿与需求的句型
故事中孩子们因为睡不着而产生了各种需求 ，这里用到了两个非常经典的句式 ：
主语 + want/wanted + 名词：用来直接表达“想要某样东西”。
原文例句：He wanted a story.（他想要听个故事。）/ Chip wanted a pillow fight.（Chip想要打枕头仗。）
主语 + be动词 (was/were) + 形容词：用来描述当下的状态或感受 。

2. 描述动作与事件的句型
这部分是讲故事的核心，主要使用了一般过去时来叙述已经发生的事情 ： 主语 + 动词过去式 (+ 其他)：这是最基础的叙
事句型。 原文例句：The baby-sitter came.（临时保姆来了。）/ Kipper got his books.（Kipper拿来了他的书。）/ They
made a sandwich.（他们做了一个三明治。） Everyone joined in.：这是一个很地道的表达，意为“大家都加入了进来 ”，
在日常集体活动中经常用到 。

4. 表达感叹的句型

可数名词单数则需要加上 （例如 What a nice day!）。
5. 询问情况与巧妙回答的句型
在故事的结尾，妈妈回来后询问情况，引出了一次非常有意思的对话 ： Was/Were + 主语 + 形容词 ：这是一般过去时的
一般疑问句，用来询问过去的状态。 原文例句："Was everyone good " said Mum.（妈妈问：“大家乖吗？”） "Yes and
no."：这不是一个句型，但却是一个非常地道且高频的口语回答 。字面意思是“是也不是”，用来表示情况比较复杂，不能
简单地用“好”或“不好”来概括（就像故事里孩子们既听了故事 ，又捣乱弄得一团糟一样）。
