Do you know what is a nursing home
A nursing home is a place for elderly people to live. Staff there help them with daily tasks like eating, bathing, and moving. They also get medical care and do fun activities. It’s for seniors who can’t live alone well. It’s also called a care home or rest home.

Today, we’ll meet a volunteer called Teng Fei. He works in a nursing home too. Let’s listen to his story with Ella!

Ella: Hi, Teng Fei. What are your plans for the summer vacation
Teng Fei: I think I’ll do some volunteer work at a nursing home with my youth group. I’ve been a volunteer there since last year.
Ella: Oh! What do you do
Teng Fei: I exercise with the elderly to help them stay active. Sometimes I play Chinese chess with them. I’ve even taught some of them how to use a mobile phone.
