Sandoval, who comes from Los Angeles, has traveled and filmed in over 50 countries across seven continents
and now lives in China. “In 2008, tired of my studio work in the U.S. I came to China, with the hope of trying
something different for myself.” he said.
Sandoval is a professional photographer and he went to Chengdu in Southwest China to live in October 2008
and has traveled throughout the country since then.
To him, Chengdu is the capital of a laid-back lifestyle. He was delighted to see that residents, dressed stylishly
or comfortably, strolled (漫步) in the streets “as slowly as snails”. Almost a “walking encyclopedia” (百科全书) of
Chengdu, Sandoval covered every corner of Chengdu and recorded Chengduese and their lives with his camera,
listening to the sound of mahjong being played and music from traditional instruments.
He also goes from place to place with his heavy travel kit. The various culture and vast, beautiful land has kept
him in China much longer than he had planned in the beginning. He remembers a wide range of adventures like
exploring a local vineyard and local wine in Yinchuan City, a riding performance by a Mongolian ethnic group in
the Shuidonggou Horse Riding Show, and then the totally different experience of visiting the Hainan Free Trade
Port in the south.
He thinks he has done a lot in “this beautiful and vast country” with his “travel photos”. “I try to show people
the beauty of where I go. I try to inspire them to travel and go to places. I’m hoping to do more international work.”
he said.
24. Why did Sandoval come to China in 2008
A. He wanted to seek for something different.
B. He was not good at studio work in the U.S.

A. Fast-paced. B. Healthy.
C. Stressful. D. slow-paced.
26. Why are Sandoval’s experiences around China mentioned in Paragraph 4
A. To reveal his desire for new careers
B. To display his superb photo technique
C. To show his fascination for Chinese culture
D. To express his diverse hobbies
27. What is the writing purpose of this passage
A. To praise Sandoval for his studio work in the U.S.
B. To introduce the experience of a foreign photographer in China.
C. To call on readers to take up photography as a hobby.
D. To promote the development of tourism in Chengdu.

Australia officially listed koalas across its eastern coast as “endangered” on Friday. Conservationists (自然环
境保护者) said koala populations had crashed in much of eastern Australia over the past two decades, warning that
they were now sliding (滑动,衰落) towards extinction.
The koala, a globally recognized symbol of Australia’s unique wildlife, had been listed as “vulnerable (易危)”
on the eastern coast just a decade earlier. “We are taking unprecedented (史无前例的) action to protect the koala,”
the Minister of Environment, Sussan Ley said, highlighting a recent government promise of Aus$50 million to
protect and recover koala habitats.
Environmentalists welcomed the koalas’ new status (地位) but blamed Australia’s failure to protect the species
so far. “Koalas have gone from no-listing to vulnerable to endangered within a decade. That is a shockingly fast
decline,” (下降 ) said WWF-Australia conservation scientist Stuart Blanch. “Today’s decision is welcome, but it
won’t stop koalas from sliding towards extinction unless it’s accompanied by stronger laws to protect their forest
homes.”
Alexia Wellbelove of the Humane Society International said east coast koalas could be extinct by 2050 if no
action was taken. “We can’t afford any more clearing,” she said. “The extinction of koalas does not have to
happen,” she added, “we must stop allowing their homes to be cleared for mines (矿 ), new houses, agricultural
projects and industrial logging (伐木).”
Australia’s koalas had been living on a “knife edge” even before the “Black Summer” bushfires of 2019-2020
because of land-clearing, drought, disease, car strikes and dog attacks, said Josey Sharrad, wildlife campaign
manager at the
International Fund for Animal Welfare. “We should never have allowed things to get to the point where we are
at risk of losing a national icon (象征),” Sharrad said, “The bushfires were the final straw. (稻草) This must be a
wake-up call to Australia and the government to move much faster to protect critical habitat from development and
land-clearing, and seriously deal with the influences of climate change.”
28. What is the problem mentioned in Para 1
A. Koala populations have increased quickly.
B. Koalas enjoy too much popularity in Australia.
C. Koalas get crushed (碾压) by other animals.
D. Koalas are at risk of extinction.
29. Why did environmentalists welcome the koala’s new status
A. This would stop koalas from extinction.
B. They could blame the government’s failure.
C. This could lead to stronger action to protect koalas.
D. They may have time to recover koala habitats.
30. How does the author prove his idea
A. By making a comparison. B. By analyzing figures.
C. By doing a survey. D. By quoting environmentalists’ words.
31. What’s the purpose of this text
A. To call on people to protect Koala.
B. To show the causes of Koalas’ disappearance.
C. To show Koalas’ important statue.
D. To present environmentalists’ words.

The world has been changing very quickly since the introduction of generative (生成的) artificial intelligence
(AI). Generative AI now helps write stories, create art and answer questions, and it can even copy people’s voices.
It’s being used in schools, offices, music and movies. Even the Oscars (奥斯卡奖) are changing because of AI.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has updated (更新)its rules, saying films that use AI are
now allowed to win awards. So even if a movie uses AI to help with writing, editing or voices, it can still win
Hollywood’s biggest prize. The Academy explained that using AI will not help or hurt a film’s chances of getting
nominated (被提名), although human creativity and input are still the things that matter most. “AI is just a tool,”
said Academy president David Rubin. “What truly makes a film great is the human story behind it.”
The use of AI in film became a talking point after this year’s Oscars, when Adrien Brody won Best Actor for
his work in The Brutalist. In the film, both Brody and his co-star Felicity Jones had to speak Hungarian, a very
difficult language to pronounce. According to the film’s editor David Jancso, AI was used to perfect their speech.
“They did a wonderful job, but we also wanted to perfect it so that even locals will not notice any difference.”
Another Oscar-winning film, the musical Emilia Perez, used AI to improve the singing of the actors.
The use of AI is becoming more common in the film and music industries. But not everyone is happy about it.
During the 2023 Hollywood strikes, many actors and writers spoke out about AI, saying they were worried it could
take away their jobs. Some worried that studios might use it to write scripts instead of hiring real writers, and others
feared their voices or faces could be copied by AI without their permission (许可). Industry experts suggest that
while AI can assist in production, it cannot replace human creativity and emotional depth that audiences connect
with.
32. What does the Academy say about AI in films
A. AI films are unable to win Oscars.
B. All films will use AI in the near future.
C. AI doesn’t change a film’s chance to win.
D. AI is becoming more important than humans.
33. How does the author show the influence of AI on the film industry
A. By giving examples of AI in films.
B. By presenting the history of AI.
C. By focusing on technical details.
D. By comparing AI with traditional tools.
34. Why were some Hollywood workers unhappy about AI
A. It made their voices sound strange.
B. It completely changed Oscar rules.
C. It might make them lose their jobs.
D. It made movies win too many awards.
35. What is the best title for the text
A. AI in the Oscars: Rules & Influence
B. AI in Film-Making: Future & Possibilities
C. AI in the Film Industry: Creativity & Success
D. AI in Hollywood: Anxieties and Worries.

Ever since I entered senior high school, I had been buried in endless homework and school projects, and I
hardly had time to stay with my family. My mom, a gentle and patient woman, always tried to get close to me, but I
often pushed her away coldly, buried in my own busy schedule.
She loved baking sweet cookies in her free time, a family hobby she had kept since I was a little kid. She
would set a plate of warm cookies on my desk every evening, hoping to share a few quiet minutes with me, but I
would only nod without looking up from my books, or even tell her to leave me alone in a sharp voice. I could see
the sadness in her eyes, but I was too caught up in my stress to care.
Last Saturday afternoon, I stayed in my room reviewing for a big exam, feeling stressed and upset. The whole
house was quiet, except for the soft sound of baking from the kitchen. I planned to ignore it as usual, but I suddenly
found my math notebook missing. I rushed to the kitchen to look for it, and what I saw stopped me in my tracks.
Mom was standing by the oven, her hands covered in flour, and there was an unfinished cookie jar on the table.
The jar was painted with little stars and my name, half-done. Beside it lay a small note, written in her warm
handwriting, “For my dearest kid, no matter how busy you are, I’m always here.” She looked up at me, a little
surprised and shy, without saying a word.
My throat tightened immediately, and a wave of guilt washed over me. I realized I had been so selfish that I
ignored my mom’s silent love and care all this time. I stood there, not knowing what to say, my eyes filled with
tears.
注意:
1.续写词数应为 150个左右;
I took a deep breath and walked slowly towards my mom, the heavy guilt weighing on my heart.

One possible version:
I took a deep breath and walked slowly towards my mom, the heavy guilt weighing on
my heart. I stepped closer and gently hugged her, my eyes wet with tears. I said sorry in a soft
voice, admitting how selfish and cold I had been. My mom froze for a second and then held me
back gently, her hands still slightly covered in flour. I looked at the unfinished jar with my name
on it and realized how much she had loved me in silence. The warm scent of cookies filled the air,
and at that moment, all the distance between us disappeared.
From that day on, I made a big change in my attitude towards my mom and family time.
I no longer buried myself in study without communication. Instead, I spent more time talking with
her, sharing my joys and worries. I often helped her with housework and even learned to bake
cookies together. This experience taught me that family love is the most valuable treasure. I
finally understood that true warmth comes not from achievements, but from the moments we share
with those who love us most.

including rare moon rock samples collected during the Apollo missions. This popular exhibition
operates only on weekends due to the delicate nature of its lunar samples.(借助美国国家航空航
Fight climate change through immersive VR games that recreate renewable energy
projects. Design wind farms, restore coral reefs, or balance urban ecosystems in our
根据文章“Admission & Discounts”部分中的“Adults:¥60 | Students(with ID):
¥30(成人:60 元|学生(凭学生证):30元)”和“Group rates: 10% discount for groups of 10+
visitors(团体票:10人以上团体可享 10%折扣)”可知,学生单人票价为 30元,15人团体符

B篇
A 25. D 26. C 27. B
In 2008, tired of my studio work in the U.S. I came to China, with
the hope of trying something different for myself.” he said.
He was delighted to see that residents, dressed stylishly or
comfortably, strolled in the streets “as slowly as snails”.
The various culture and vast, beautiful land has kept him in China
much longer than he had planned in the beginning.

The Academy explained that using AI will not help or hurt a
film’s chances of getting nominated (被提名), although human creativity and input are still the
things that matter most.
The use of AI in film became a talking point after this year’s Oscars,
when Adrien Brody won Best Actor for his work in The Brutalist. In the film, both Brody and his
co-star Felicity Jones had to speak Hungarian, a very difficult language to pronounce. According
to the film’s editor David Jancso, AI was used to perfect their speech. “They did a wonderful job,
but we also wanted to perfect it so that even locals will not notice any difference.” Another
Oscar-winning film, the musical Emilia Perez, used AI to improve the singing of the actors.
故选 A。
During the 2023 Hollywood strikes, many actors and writers
spoke out about AI, saying they were worried it could take away their jobs. Some worried that
studios might use it to write scripts instead of hiring real writers, and others feared their voices or
faces could be copied by AI without their permission (许可).
Generative AI now helps write stories, create art and answer
questions, and it can even copy people’s voices. It’s being used in schools, offices, music and
movies. Even the Oscars (奥斯卡奖) are changing because of AI.
The Academy
of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has updated its rules, saying films that use AI are now
allowed to win awards.
影制作)带来的规则变化、实际应用和利弊争议展开,因此 A项“AI in the Oscars: Rules &
故选 A。

big flower on it.
M: Oh, yes. I remember seeing it on the ground near the apple tree.
(Text 3)W: Hi! Glad to meet you. I’m an exchange student from Mexico.
M: Cool. Could you help me practice my Spanish while you’re here in the United States
W: Sure. It’s my pleasure.
(Text 4) W: You should have prepared your speech for the meeting, Sam.
M: Yes, I know. But how could I prepare with the meeting date fixed so soon
(Text 5) W: Have you seen the latest news on the school website The new plan looks great.

M: No, what’s up
W: They climbed three big mountains in Switzerland — the Eiger, the Monch, and the Jungfrau.
12
They were super fast. They did it in 15 hours and 30 minutes. The old record was 25 hours.
M: That’s amazing! The two men broke the record.
W: Yes. They started climbing at 1:00 a.m. They arrived at the top of the first mountain in six
hours. They didn’t stop for long and kept moving fast. They’d thought that they’d need at least 19

W: Then why do you think this position is suitable for you
M: I love dealing with various people and I’m good at it. I know it won’t be easy for me at first,

things here. Our kids are growing up and I think it’s the perfect time for you to realize your
dreams.
W: But the kids will need help with their homework.
M: You’re great at solving everything. We’re a team and we’ll work it out. Besides, the kids will
be encouraged by your hard work. They’ll learn how important it is to keep learning and getting
better.
W: But what if I can’t keep up with school

too.
W: You’re right. I feel supported and relaxed. Thank you.
(Text 10) W: Last Christmas, I was invited to Canada by my aunt Judy. I had never been to
other countries. I was so excited about the trip that I didn’t sleep well for several nights. On the
day of leaving, my father thought that I might be caught in traffic if I took a bus to the airport, so
he drove me there. But our car broke down on the way. As time went by, I began to worry about
missing the flight. I decided to stop a car to take me to the airport. Many cars went past me at high
speed before a white Bora stopped by my side. Thanks to the driver, I arrived at the airport just in
time at 1:50 p.m. to catch my plane, which would leave ten minutes later.
It was my first flight and I was a bit nervous. When the plane was taking off, my ears felt
funny. I was really sick. Luckily, it was all over after a while. On my window seat, I could enjoy
the bird’s-eye view of beautiful cities, land, grass, forests and blue sea. Sometimes our plane flew
right over the white clouds. Unluckily, I didn’t see any hills. Maybe I missed them. What a
wonderful view!
