Do you often get angry 41 Many things can make you angry. When your teacher gives you too much homework, when your team loses an important game, or when a friend borrows your favorite thing and then breaks it, you may get really angry.
42 For example, you breathe faster, your face turns red, and you may want to break something, but sometimes, you keep your anger inside. The problem is that if you do this, you may get a headache or not feel comfortable. In fact, it’s not good to hide your anger, and it’s common for you to get angry sometimes. But keeping anger inside usually just makes things worse. 43 Try to let it out in the right way, without hurting others or yourself.
When you get angry, you can talk about it with other people. 44 When you talk about anger, those bad feelings can start to go away. Here are some other things you can do when you start to feel angry. For example, talk to a good friend, count from 1 to 100, go for a bike ride, think about good things and so on.
Remember that how you act when you are angry can make everything better or worse. So you should think carefully before you take action. 45 Try your best to control your anger!

A.Don’t let your anger control you.

A
Recently, a news story surprised many people: a parent got a collapsed lung (气胸) because of anger when helping her child with homework.
A woman in Nanjing was very angry. Her child made the same mistake again and again. After shouting, she felt sharp chest pain and could not breathe well. Doctors said she had a pneumothorax (气胸). Experts say strong anger can cause sudden health problems.
This story shows a lose-lose problem (双输问题): Parents try their best to help kids study, but get hurt in body and mind; Kids feel stressed, but make little progress. In fact, there shouldn’t be a winner in this fight. Instead, we need to understand each other.
First, parents should understand kids. Kids have growing pains and ability limits. When they make mistakes, they are already sad. They need a helper to find their mistakes, not a strict person pushing them harder. Giving up the idea of “being perfect right away” is very helpful.
Then, kids should understand parents. Parents’ worry comes from their care and hope for our future. Studying hard is the best way to show we care back. We don’t need full marks — just try our best and take responsibility.
Finally, let’s work together. We hope all parents can be more patient, and all kids a little more self-disciplined (自律的). If we solve problems together, education can go back to its true nature: a warm way to grow and support each other.
46.Why did the woman get a pneumothorax
A.Because she had a bad cold.
B.Because she was very angry.
C.Because there was too much housework.
47.What is the “lose-lose problem”
A.Only kids feel angry and can’t make progress in study.
B.Only parents feel tired, stressed and get few good results.
C.Parents and kids are both unhappy and get few good results.
48.What is the best way for kids to show they care about parents
A.To never make any mistakes.
B.To study hard and try their best.
C.To get full marks in every exam.

①Did you look out of the window and see the sky turn yellow or orange The color is often caused by a sandstorm (沙尘暴). A sandstorm is a strong wind that picks up sand and dust (灰尘) from the ground. Do you know how powerful it can be A single sandstorm can carry over 40 million tons of dust.
②To understand why sandstorms happen, we need to look at the factors (因素) that cause them. A large area of dry, loose sand is necessary. Without enough rain, the ground becomes very dry and breaks into tiny pieces. Strong winds are also required to lift the sand into the air. In spring, cold northern air often meets warm southern air, creating powerful winds. Moreover, if an area doesn’t have enough trees or plants, nothing can hold the soil (土壤) down. Without them, the wind can easily sweep the soil away.
③Sandstorms are dangerous weather events that harm people and the environment. When a sandstorm hits, the air fills with tiny dust, making breathing hard and causing sore eyes or throats. People with asthma or other breathing problems face greater risks. Sandstorms also lead to traffic accidents and flight delays. They damage crops, cover buildings with dust, and spread germs quickly. Over time, sandstorms speed up soil loss and turn land into desert.
④To reduce the damage, we should plant more trees and take good care of the soil. Since the 1970s, millions of trees have been planted across northern China. Take the Taklamakan Desert as an example, the new forests there not only stop sand but also take in CO2.
⑤However, China’s efforts can’t stop all sandstorms. Many of them don’t start in China at all. For example, dust from Mongolia’s Gobi Desert (蒙古的戈壁沙漠) can blow into China and even reach Japan. The dry land there has become a major source (来源) of sandstorms in East Asia. To truly solve the problem, planting trees only in China is not enough.
⑥Fighting against sandstorms takes time and patience, but every tree we plant counts. Each new tree holds the soil, reduces dust, and brings us one step closer to a cleaner world. By doing this, we are not only protecting ourselves today but also building a safer, brighter tomorrow for generations.
52.Which of the following shows the factors that cause sandstorms
A.Desert, strong winds, and breathing problems.
B.Enough rain, dry loose sand and strong winds.
C.Cold northern air, warm southern air and many trees.
D.Dry loose sand, strong winds and few plants or trees.

B.To suggest that planting trees is enough to stop sandstorms.
C.To explain why it takes a long time to fight against sandstorms.
D.To show that each small action plays an important role for the future.
54.Which of the following best shows the structure of the passage
Structure: Introduction→Causes & Effects→Solutions→Hope
A.①→②③→④→⑤⑥ B.①→②③→④⑤→⑥ C.①②→③→④⑤→⑥ D.①②→③④→⑤→⑥

根据后文“it’s not always easy.”
此处用于强调“young people”是“Most people”中的特定群体,especially“尤其”符合逻辑。
根据“their…that don’t match the team’s goal.”
根据前文“talents and experience”可知,分配工作应基于能力,are good at“擅长”符合语境。are afraid of“害怕”、are proud of“自豪”、are pleased with“满意”,与能力无关。
根据“each does their work”可知,此处强调各司其职,stick to “坚守”符合。

42.根据第二段“For example, you breathe faster, your face turns red”可知,后文用例子列举了生气时的生理反应,C项“Sometimes, your body will tell you when you are angry.”
43.根据前文“But keeping anger inside usually just makes things worse.”和后文“Try to let it out in the right way…”可知,前文指出压抑愤怒有害,后文建议要以正确方式释放,B项“So you need to let your anger out.”
44.根据前文“When you get angry, you can talk about it with other people.”和后文“When you talk about anger, those bad feelings can start to go away.”可知,此处建议和别人谈论愤怒,E 项“It’s helpful to talk about your anger with an adult….”

A
Recently, a news story surprised many people: a parent got a collapsed lung (气胸) because of anger when helping her child with homework.
根据文章第一段“a parent got a collapsed lung…because of anger when helping her child with homework”以及第二段“A woman in Nanjing was very angry…Doctors said she had a pneumothorax”可知这位女士因孩子反复犯错而暴怒,专家表明强烈愤怒会引发突发健康问题。
47.根据文章第三段“This story shows a lose-lose problem…Parents try their best to help kids study, but get hurt in body and mind; Kids feel stressed, but make little progress”可知,“双输问题”指的是家长身心受伤,孩子压力大且进步小,即双方都不开心且结果不佳。
48.根据文章第五段“Studying hard is the best way to show we care back. We don't need full marks—just try our best and take responsibility”可知,孩子向父母表达关心的最好方式是努力学习并尽自己最大的努力,而不是必须得满分或不犯错。

C

D.To show that each small action plays an important role for the future.

53.最后一段提到“every tree we plant counts”,后文补充“Each new tree holds the soil, reduces dust, and brings us one step closer to a cleaner world... building a safer, brighter tomorrow for generations”,说明这句话意在强调每一个微小的行动都对未来至关重要,对应选项D。
