And I got a medal. In fact,I got the same medal as the one that the guy who came in first place had.Determined to be myself, move forward, free of shame and worldly labels (标签),I can now call myself a “marathon winner”.【语篇导读】 本文是记叙文。文章主要讲述了作者在参加第一次马拉松比赛的前一个月脚踝受伤,但他没有放弃,凭借坚强的意志,最终成功完成了比赛的事。( )24.What did the author do after his injury [A] He lost hope.[B] He stopped his running.[C] He made up his celebrated as a great craftsman of language and playwright (剧作家).But he was not the only great master of dramatic writing to die in 1616,and he is certainly not the only writer to have left a lasting impact on theatre. While less famous worldwide,Tang Xianzu is rightly considered one of China’s greatest playwrights and is highly admired in that country of ancient literary and dramatic traditions.Tang was born in 1550 in Linchuan,Jiangxi Province, and worked as a government official until,in 1598,he retired to focus on writing.Unlike Shakespeare having plenty of plays and poems,Tang wrote only four major plays:The Purple Hairpin,A Dream Under the Southern Bough,Dream of Handan and The Peony Pavilion—widely considered to be his masterpieces. In the latter three plays, much of the story is told through dream sequences.Tang used these scenes to explore human emotions in ways that challenged the feudal system of his time.It is a similar dream structure that we find in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.Tang lived towards the end of the Ming Dynasty(1368—1644) and his lasting success was partly due to the growth of theatre as an artistic practice during his lifetime. As in Shakespeare’s England,it became hugely popular in China, with public theatres opening in different cities and travelling performance groups becoming common.Theatrical audiences started to populate open public spaces, and theatre as a popular form of entertainment found its place outside palaces. However, unlike in Shakespeare’s England, there was hardly any mixing of the rich with commoners at theatrical events.During this time, the way in which dramas were enjoyed, spread and performed also changed.Initially,Chinese dramas had an emphasis on poetic language and were distributed in book form,to be read like novels. They were seldom,if ever, performed. However, from the mid-16th century,Kunqu Opera,a form of musical drama, spread from the south of China and became a symbol of Chinese culture. While Tang and Shakespeare lived in a world away from each other, they have in common the humanity of their dramas, their heroic figures, their love for language, the lasting popularity—and the anniversary during which we still celebrate them.【语篇导读】 本文是说明文。文章主要介绍了与莎士比亚同时代的中国伟大的剧作家汤显祖的代表作和他的作品的特点,以及他所处时代的中国戏剧的相关情况。( )28.Why does the writer refer to Shakespeare throughout intensity aerobic (有氧的) activity per day could lower your risk of cancer, cardiovascular (心血管的) disease or premature death,a new study has found.Aerobic activities include walking, dancing, running, jogging, cycling and swimming. You can calculate the intensity level of an activity by your heart rate and how hard you’re breathing as you move.Generally, being able to talk but not sing during an activity would make it moderate (中等的) intensity.Vigorous intensity is marked by the inability to carry on a conversation.Higher levels of physical activity have been associated with lower rates of premature death and chronic disease, according to a past research. But how the risk levels for these outcomes are affected by the amount of exercise someone gets has been more difficult to determine. To explore this impact, scientists largely from the University of Cambridge looked at the data from 196 studies, amounting to more than 30 million adult participants who were followed for 10 years on average. The study mainly focused on participants who had done the minimum recommended amount of 150 minutes of exercise per week,or 22 minutes per day.Compared with inactive participants, adults who had done 150 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous aerobic physical activity per week had a 31% lower risk of dying from any cause,a 29% lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease and a 15% lower risk of dying from cancer.Furthermore, the study states even people who got just half the minimum recommended amount of physical activity benefited.Accumulating 75 minutes of moderate-intensity activity per week—about 11 minutes of activity per day—was associated with a 23% lower risk of early death.Getting active for 75 minutes on a weekly basis was also enough to reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease by 17% and cancer by 7%.The findings confirm the World Health Organisation’s position that doing some physical activity is better than doing none, even if you don’t get the recommended amounts of exercise.【语篇导读】 本文是说明文。文章介绍了一项研究的新发现,即每天只需11分钟的中高强度有氧运动便对身体健康有积极的影响;而且,即便没有达到建议的运动量,进行一些体育活动也是有益的。( )32.What can you do in a moderate-intensity aerobic great craftsman of language and playwright (剧作家).But he was not the only great master of dramatic writing to die in 1616,and he is certainly not the only writer to have left a lasting impact on theatre. While Tang and Shakespeare lived in a world away from each other, they have in common the humanity of their dramas, their heroic figures, their love for language, the lasting popularity—and the anniversary during which we still celebrate them.【语篇导读】 本文是说明文。文章主要介绍了与莎士比亚同时代的中国伟大的剧作家汤显祖的代表作和他的作品的特点,以及他所处时代的中国戏剧的相关情况。( )28.Why does the writer refer to Shakespeare throughout this article about Tang [A] To compare death,a new study has found.Aerobic activities include walking, dancing, running, jogging, cycling and swimming. The study mainly focused on participants who had done the minimum recommended amount of 150 minutes of exercise per week,or 22 minutes per day.Compared with inactive participants, adults who had done 150 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous aerobic physical activity per week had a 31% lower risk of dying from any cause,a 29% lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease and a 15% lower risk of dying from cancer.Furthermore, the study states even people who got just half the minimum recommended amount of physical activity benefited.Accumulating 75 minutes of moderate-intensity activity per week—about 11 minutes of activity per day—was associated with a 23% lower risk of early death.Getting active for 75 minutes on a weekly basis was also enough to reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease by 17% and cancer by 7%.The findings confirm the World Health Organisation’s position that doing some physical activity is better than doing none, even if you don’t get the recommended amounts of exercise.【语篇导读】
