I love training with my husband Chris. We do our own exercises separately, but then we really enjoy spending 3040 minutes doing something we both like together.I also train with my family—my brother, his wife and our cousins will come to our house every now and then to train together. It’s like family fun time! A little bit of competition also makes us work out harder.
Laziness,as you know,is contagious(有传染性的).But so is enthusiasm. If you can get your partner on board, you will be able to encourage each other on those days when the other doesn’t feel like moving. If you set yourself a challenge and add competition to the mix,I promise you that the training will be much more fun.Time will fly by and you’ll want to do it again.
This is why I wanted to learn Chris’ favourite sport—surfing(冲浪).Not only would we have more things to do together, but it would be a great challenge for me.In turn,I have introduced Chris to two of my favourite activities:horse riding and motorbiking. Now he also loves them, which means we have even more chances to have fun together.Encouraged by our example,my brother and his wife now train together, too. This is what it’s all about at the end of the day:quality time with your partner.
What if you don’t have a partner Well,I’m sure you have a friend who would love to train with you.Or,if you have young children, why not train in the backyard with another parent while they play You just need some music. The important thing is to have a plan and to make the time to do it.It will be much more fun than doing it on your own.

When people think about improving their physical fitness, they often neglect(忽视) balance.Good balance is a necessary part of being physically fit and key to living a long life,
according to research. It’s important for everyone,no matter your age.
Older adults are most affected by poor balance.Falls are the leading cause of injury and death for those 65 and older, with nearly 30% in this age group reporting at least one fall in 2018,according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But younger adults frequently fall down, too.
Forty-eight percent of young adults reported falling at least once during a 16-week study.
The falls most commonly happened during sports activities, with women in the study reporting more falls and fall-related injuries than men.
Falls within the previous two years were reported by 18% of young adults (ages 20 to 45) in another study published in the journal BMC Public Health. That figure compared with 21% of middle-aged adults (46 to 65) reporting falls and 35% of those over 65.While falls among young adults were often connected with sports, falls by the middle-aged group were typically related to health problems and physical changes.
Many factors can affect your balance outside of age, such as vision changes, brain injuries,
overweight and a general lack of physical fitness.Even if you have no risk factors, simply neglecting to work regularly on your balance will result in increased instability(不稳定性).
“Our body is conditioned to lose what we don’t regularly use and practise, and balance is no different,” said Susan Baxter.

Microplastics,or tiny particles(微粒) of plastic that can be as small as one-thousandth of a millimetre, are found everywhere:in the ocean,in the air,and even in our food.Scientists have even discovered them in human body tissues like the heart, liver, and kidneys. While there’s no clear evidence yet that microplastics harm human health, researchers are concerned about their possible effects.
Plastic is made from oil or other petroleum products and is used to create a wide range of things, from water bottles and car parts to children’s toys and clothing.Over time, heat, weather,
and even animal digestion break down plastic into smaller pieces, creating microplastics.
Researchers are still trying to understand how much plastic we might be taking in or consuming through our food and drinks. Many studies have found traces(痕迹) of plastic in the human body.Tracey Woodruff,a researcher at the University of California,San Francisco, noted that microplastics have been discovered in almost all body tissues studied.
In 2022,a World Health Organization report stated that there was no clear risk to human health from microplastics, based on the evidence available. However, since research on this topic is relatively new,the full impact of microplastics on human health remains vague. Some studies suggest that plastic can cause inflammation(炎症) and other bodily changes, likely increasing the risk of heart attacks.
To reduce exposure to microplastics, researchers suggest several steps.Remove your shoes before entering your home to prevent spreading microplastics indoors.Choose home-prepared food, especially fresh fruit and vegetables.Avoid heating food in plastic containers and choose metal or glass water bottles instead of plastic ones. These simple actions can help reduce your contact with these tiny, and harmful particles.

I was packed and ready to go skiing for the first time.It felt like I was about to take an adventure with the world at my feet.Feeling empowered,I knew something brilliant was going to come out of the trip.I was more than excited at the thought of spending an entire week with my best friend,Lindsay, hanging out and enjoying winter.
Early Monday morning,my youth group boarded our bus for the ski trip.Once at the destination,we saw the skiers floating so easily and gracefully down the slopes.By the time I got my skis and boots,I was confident I’d be a fantastic skier.During the lessons,I mastered the art of skiing within 30 minutes. After spending most of the time practising again and again on the run for beginners,we were able to fly down the hill by the end of the day.In the evening,we all felt extremely plaining about the pain our ski boots had caused,Lindsay and I decided we weren’t skiing the next day.Well,of course, our friends wouldn’t hear of that.
So,the next morning we found ourselves in line for the ski lift, which wound its way up the high mountain.Lindsay and I stared helplessly at each other, our eyes showing nothing but fear. After I got into the lift,I sat totally still on the chair with my eyes closely shut, not daring to look outside. The lift rose so fast that before I knew it,I had floated up the mountain. When I finally opened my eyes,I found myself at the top in one piece.
Standing at the top of the long slope, with the skis pointing downward,I realised I was shaking.I glanced at Lindsay and found that she was scared too,for her poles kept tapping rapidly against the sides of her boots.
Taking a deep breath and gathering all our courage,we gave each other an encouraging nod and both took off.At first I barely moved, but slowly I allowed myself to gain some speed.
Soon I was shooting down the mountain with my heart beating wildly.

The school sports meeting was held on our school playground last Friday. The students were very eager to participate in the competition and everyone showed a high level of enthusiasm. There were many events for students to choose from. For example, running, long jump, high jump and so on.I was a runner in the 100-metre race.Even though I didn’t get the first place,I was very happy because many of my classmates cheered for me.In my opinion,
doing sports is a healthy way for us to keep fit.Everybody should try to work out for some time every week.
Let’s fall in love with exercise and have a healthy body!
Yours,
Li Hua

  One possible version:
Then a sharp turning suddenly came into view.I knew I had to stop, but I was moving too fast to control myself.I tried everything, but in vain. There was only one final option—falling over. After rolling for what felt like forever,I lay still, head dizzy.Worse still,my joints were painful and every muscle hurt.I knew there was no way I could keep going. When I struggled to my feet and brushed the snow off,the terrible truth hit me: I still had half the mountain to go! I hesitated, feeling desperate at that moment, not knowing what to do,with my heart still beating violently.
I was on the point of crying when I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was Lindsay.“I have to quit,” I said hopelessly.Pointing to some skillful skiers,Lindsay said,“Look, they are skiing so easily.Come on,I believe we can make it,too.” Looking at her determined expression,I was instantly inspired and seconds later we were both skiing down the slope.Along the way were a few more falls, but we were not defeated. At the bottom,I glanced up the mountain and felt a wave of gratitude and pride. Thanks to Lindsay’s encouragement,I had overcome my fears and learnt to face challenges bravely.
