Wetlands are very important because they provide us with clean water and food, and help control the climate. Sadly, wetlands are in danger. According to a report, Global Wetland Outlook 2025, about 22% of the world's wetlands have disappeared since 1970, and a quarter of the remaining ones are in bad condition.
The report points out that the main threats(威胁) to wetlands are farming activities, city development,and factory construction(建设). These activities also use too much water, making it harder for wetlands to recover. Other problems include pollution, harmful plants and animals, overfishing, climate change, and the construction of dams(水坝) on rivers.
