About Group Sites
Group sites are found at Bridge Bay, Grant Village, and Madison campgrounds for large groups with a leader who is officially responsible for the group (e. g. educational groups). About RVs
If you’re renting an RV, you can’t have it delivered or picked up outside the park. You must drive it in and out yourself. Fishing Bridge RV Park is the only campground offering water, sewers (排污管), and electrical hookups, and it is for hard-sided vehicles only. Soft-sided setups, including tents, are not allowed. Dump stations, which allow RV owners to empty their waste safely and cleanly, may close when temperatures are below freezing.

A Great Oak Table — plus accompanying benches capable of seating 60 comes after locals raised 22,555 to transform a 500-year-old oak tree that fell in a storm 15 years ago into what they believe is the longest table ever to be crafted from a single oak tree.
The project is the brainchild of Elizabeth — Jane Baldry, a local harpist who bought the spot — then poor quality former agricultural land 18 years ago. She named it Pigwiggen Wood, and with the help of her two sons, has since turned it into a wildlife refuge.

In an oasis of green space sandwiched among Manhattan skyscrapers, one oddball stood out among the parkgoers Monday morning. It was a robot mower (割草机) named “Belawncé”. Looking like an oversize Roomba with heavy-duty wheels, it pilots itself with the help of an artificial intelligence camera system that resembles a pair of human eyes. After two to four hours of mowing, the robot navigates to a charging station.
For the past few months, the electric robot mower has taken over grass-clipping duties on the main lawn of Bryant Park, a small but heavily used public park. Toshi Yano, director of the park, said in an interview that the robot mower has proved effective, safe and more environmentally friendly than gas-powered, human-operated mowers.
Belawncé is a glimpse at the promise and the problems of using robots for tasks such as yard work. Bryant Park previously tried a couple of other robot mowers that were finicky. The prior robots would get stuck in certain parts of the park. To connect to satellites for navigation, at times the park needed one receiver on-site and another on a nearby office tower. Starting this spring, Bryant Park picked a model made by a company called Sunseeker. It has required less human intervention over time.
Unlike its pop star namesake, Belawncé and its fellow robot mowers aren’t beloved by all. Nanci Fioravanti, landscape manager for Green-Wood, a popular green space in Brooklyn that uses two robot mowers, has had to reassure staff worried about job losses from automation. Fioravanti also said that the robot mowers aren’t suited to steep areas of Green-Wood or where tree cover makes them lose signal.

Human-driven climate change poses one of the most urgent challenges of our time, while individuals’ decisions (e.g. how often people fly, what type of car they drive) play a substantial role in achieving net zero emissions. However, people hold widespread misperceptions regarding the effectiveness of their behaviors, affecting their commitment. Recently, a study was conducted to assess if climate action literacy (素养) interventions could influence their perceptions and willingness to act.
The study was based on 4,000 people recruited to take an online survey. A pre-test was conducted to rate their willingness to engage in the 21 carbon emission-reducing individual behaviours. Then they were randomly divided into two groups receiving climate literacy intervention. Participants in the first group were first asked to rank the effectiveness of the 21 individual behaviors, before being shown the true effectiveness ranking. The second group of participants received information about the carbon reduction potential of the same behaviors without the prediction step. During the post-test, participants in both groups, again, rated their willingness to adopt these individual behaviors. Besides, participants rated each behaviour on how easy or difficult it would be for them to engage in each item.
After the intervention, clear positive outcomes emerged for both groups: they expressed significantly greater willingness to adopt climate-friendly lifestyles. However, compared with passive exposure to information, active processing of new information contributes more to updating people’s beliefs.
The study also highlighted what really motivated people to act in their personal lives. People will engage in lifestyle changes especially because they think it’s easy to do, no matter how effective they are.
“The study is part of a broader research program investigating how scalable, low-cost interventions can affect behavior.” Vlasceanu, a professor of environmental social sciences, said. “Climate change can be solved through choices and changes involving large numbers of people. Future experiments may compare literacy-based strategies with emotional appeals or personal storytelling to determine which approaches most effectively enhance individual engagement.”
