Dear Wang Ling,
How are you Last time you said you have no idea what you should do when you are under pressure and have worries. One good way that many students in my country find helpful is using a worry box. Let me explain how to make and use one.
Try using a worry box◆ Make a special boxUse colorful things and pictures to make your worry box. Here is a picture of my worry-eating monster (怪兽) box!◆ Write down your worriesTake some pieces of paper and write down your worries.◆ Rate (评价) your worries and keep them in the boxIf you like, place each worry on a scale (等级) from 1 to 10. 1 means “a little worried” and 10 means “the most worried”. For example, today I put two worries into the box. I rated “losing my new bike” as a 7 and “getting bad grades in the math exam” as a 5. ◆ Talk it outBe sure to make some time every day or week to talk about your worries with your parents together. You can find ways to deal with them.
Remember, it’s not healthy to carry worries around in your head. The worry box provides a good place to “share” your worries. By using it you’ll learn to deal with your worries.
Take care!
Yours,
Linda

I think everyone has something they don’t like about themselves. For me, it was the birthmark (胎记) on my face. It was bright red, the colour of a strawberry.
Sometimes, I felt people secretly (秘密地) looking at my face. But when I turned my head, they looked away. On crowded buses and trains, it felt just like a disaster. With so many people around me, I always kept my hair long to cover it until that day.
It was a cloudy morning. A new student named Maddie arrived in our class. She sat right beside me. Instead of looking away, Maddie studied my face. This made me so nervous.
Clouds came through the window and filled my heart. Suddenly, she said something I would never forget.
“Sally, right ” she said. “You have a red rose on your face. How beautiful!”
Her words touched me. I looked up and met her smiling eyes. Although I only replied “thank you”, it turned sunny in my heart. When I got home, I rushed to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. For the first time, I could look at my birthmark without quickly turning away. The shape of it was really like a flower. The next day, to my surprise, Maddie painted a red rose on her own face!

Emotions play a big role in our health. When we feel happy and relaxed, our body works better. But when we are stressed or angry, it can harm our health.
Positive emotions like joy and laughter help us stay strong. They make the immune system (免疫系统) work well, so we get sick less often. For example, people who laugh a lot usually have lower stress levels and better heart health. Also, being happy helps us sleep better, which is important for energy and focus.
However, negative emotions like anger, sadness or fear can cause health problems. Too much stress can lead to headaches, stomachaches, or even high blood pressure. Some studies show that long-term stress weakens the immune system, making people catch colds or other illnesses more easily.
To stay healthy, we should manage our emotions well. Here are some tips:
● Exercise—It helps reduce stress and makes us happier.
● Talk to our friends or family—Sharing feelings can lighten sadness.
● Practise deep breathing—It calms the mind when feeling angry.
In conclusion, emotions have a powerful effect on our bodies. By staying positive and managing stress, we can keep both our minds and bodies healthy.

1.A 2.C 3.A 4.B 5.C 6.B 7.A 8.B 9.C 10.C
句中“was angry…her”提示此处考查:be angry with sb“对某人生气”,所以此处介词要用with。
后一句“she didn’t understand me.”是前一句“I didn’t want to sit down and communicate with her peacefully”的原因,此处应用because引导原因状语从句,意为“因为”符合语境。
句中“got…headache”提示,此处考查:get a headache“头痛”,固定搭配。
“She wasn’t happy…to me”提示,此处考查:be happy to do sth“乐于做某事”,固定搭配,所以此处要用不定式to listen作结果状语。
“I felt bored…noisy she was!”
前一句“I didn’t know how other…got on with their mothers.”和“I never got on well with…”
11.A 12.C 13.D 14.B 15.C 16.B 17.A 18.C 19.D 20.C
后文“too much homework”和“kept comparing me with my cousin”说明作者正经历学业和家庭双重压力,under great pressure“承受巨大压力”是固定搭配,pressure符合语境。
kept后接动名词,comparing me with my cousin“拿我和表亲比较”是导致作者焦虑的原因之一,keep doing sth表示持续不断的令人厌烦的行为,comparing符合语境。
老师用bottle of water打比方说明压力,bottle“瓶子”特指老师手中的那瓶水,与前文a bottle of water直接对应,符合语境。
hold it和putting it down是相反的动作用,without“没有/不”表达只拿着不放下这一状态,without putting it down“不放下”准确表达“持续承受压力”的比喻义,符合语境。
听老师的话深受启发,decided to make a change“决定做出改变”是作者态度的转折点,decided符合语境。
21.A 22.A 23.B 24.B 25.C

结合文章行文顺序:第二段“I always kept my hair long to cover it”(②)→第五段新同学Maddie说“You have a red rose on your face.”(①)→第六段“For the first time, I could look at my birthmark without quickly turning away.”(④)→第六段“The next day... Maddie painted a red rose on her own face!”(③),正确顺序为②→①→④→③。

I haven’t told Maddie the whole story yet. Anyway, she has changed me. I have already learnt that I am what I am. Everyone has something special and different—that is what’s interesting.
