一、阅读理解
(一)Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way we learn languages. Many apps now use AI to help users practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing. For example, some apps can talk with you like a real person. They correct your mistakes and give you instant feedback.
One big advantage of AI language learning is personalization. AI can remember which words you often forget and create exercises just for you. It can also adjust the difficulty based on your progress. This makes learning more efficient than traditional classes, where every student follows the same plan.
However, AI is not perfect. It cannot fully understand human emotions or cultural meanings. Sometimes the sentences AI creates sound strange or unnatural. Also, talking to an AI is not the same as talking to a real person. Real conversations include body language, tone, and shared experiences.
Experts say the best way to learn a language is to combine AI tools with real human interaction. Use AI for practice and basic skills, but find a language partner or teacher to have real conversations. That way, you get the best of both worlds.

(二)In many cities around the world, bike-sharing systems have become very popular. People can rent a bike from one station and return it to another. This is cheap, green, and healthy.
In China, the first large-scale dockless bike-sharing program started in 2016. Soon, millions of bikes appeared on the streets. However, problems also came. Some bikes were broken or left everywhere, blocking sidewalks. To solve this, the government made new rules: companies must use smart parking areas, and users must return bikes to special stations.
Today, bike-sharing is still a good choice for short trips. Many cities are building more bike lanes (车道) to keep riders safe. Also, e-bikes (电动自行车) are now part of the sharing system in some places. They help people go farther without too much effort.

(三)High in the sky, small but strong drones fly freely. They stand for China’s technological development and creative wisdom. Drones are planes that fly without a pilot. China’s drone industry has developed fast and leads the world with great technology and many uses.
The rise of drones connects ancient Chinese flying dreams with modern technology. From old sky lanterns and kites to today’s drones, Chinese tradition and new ideas are joined perfectly. Chinese drone companies like DJI are famous worldwide. Their products sell in over 100 countries, with high technology and beautiful designs that show Eastern art.
Drones serve many areas. In farming, they help plant seeds and spray (喷) farm chemicals, making work easier for farmers. In accidents and natural disasters, they carry help and save lives. They also record old buildings like the Great Wall to protect culture. People use them to take photos and videos to record beautiful moments.
With government support and researchers’ hard work, drones are becoming smarter. For teenagers, drones carry Chinese wisdom and encourage creativity. (四)Around the world, more countries are improving their compulsory (义务的) education systems to meet modern needs. Schools in Kyrgyzstan (吉尔吉斯斯坦) are moving from 9 years of compulsory education to 12 years. Students will also have one more hour for subjects like physics and computer science every week. This new model will better prepare students for the job market. Malaysia (马来西亚) made a similar rule. Students now need to finish secondary school, not just primary school as before.
Why is this happening In fact, compulsory education is important for students as well as society. A 2024 study on the World Bank's website showed that it helps kids from poor families get more education and improves social equity (公平). Also, longer schooling gives students more time to catch up on learning. This way, they can have a better chance of going to university.
However, some people think adding more years isn't enough. For example, Guatemala (危地马拉), a country in Central America, has 16 years of compulsory schooling, but students still score low.
Experts call for other changes. Schools should improve their lessons, especially in fast-changing subjects like science. At the same time, students should have different learning methods that match what they are good at. Therefore, successful education reform needs both longer schooling and smarter teaching methods.

(五)For many years, scientists have been looking for better ways to help people who are disabled. Now, technology is bringing us some amazing answers. One of the most exciting developments is the mind-controlled robotic arm.
A team of researchers recently showed how a person can control a robotic arm using only their thoughts. The user wears a special cap that can read brain signals (信号). When the user thinks about moving his or her arm, the cap picks up these signals. A computer then translates them into orders, and the robotic arm moves exactly as the user wishes. With practice, users can perform detailed tasks like picking up a cup of water or even writing.
This technology is not just for arms. Scientists are working on similar systems for legs to help people who have lost the ability to walk. The hope is that one day, mind-controlled robot suits will allow them to stand up and walk again.
Besides, gene editing (基因编辑) is another field that is changing medicine. It works like a “search and-replace” tool for DNA.Doctors can use it to find and correct a harmful gene that causes a disease, possibly curing the patient forever. While it sounds like science fiction, it has already been used to treat some rare genetic diseases successfully.
These technologies fill us with hope for the future. They show that with continued research, the line between human ability and technology is becoming less clear, offering new possibilities for healing (治愈) and human enhancement (能力提升).

(八)Recently, researchers in China have shown a new type of soft, lightweight humanoid robot (人形机器人) designed to be a safe helper that can suit different situations in future homes.
Inspired by “growable” human bones, the robot, named GrowHR, is 1.36 metres tall but weighs only 4.5 kg, which is lighter than a large house cat. A six-year-old child can easily lift it. This light weight makes it much safer to use around kids and the elderly at home.
Being very light, together with a body made of flexible (灵活的), air-filled structures, makes it safer than today’s heavy robots. This design allows us to hug or lift it without hurting. Also, the robot is small and easy to carry, and can be packed into a small box if we don’t need it.
Using air pressure, GrowHR can become smaller when it needs to pass through narrow (狭窄的) spaces. This is very important for moving around in a home with lots of furniture. This robot can also change its shape to walk through a low hole that is only 36% of its own height and can fit through a narrow space that is just 61% of its own width.
The robot’s special design lets it do some other cool things. For example, it can stay on water and swim. This means it could be used to get back things from a pool. Its light weight also means it can be carried by a drone (无人机) to a location 5.5 km away so that it could be used for food delivery or remote-assistance (远程协助) in the future.

(十一)In recent years, drones (无人机) have become increasingly popular. These small flying machines, which can be controlled by remote controls (遥控器), are no longer just toys for hobbyists. They play important roles in many daily life areas, making work easier and life more convenient.
One key use is delivery (送货) services. Big companies like Amazon have tested drone delivery for a long time. Instead of depending on delivery workers with bikes or cars, drones can carry small packages to people’s homes quickly. This is really helpful in heavy traffic areas, as drones can fly over cars and arrive in less time.
Drones also benefit farming a lot. With special cameras, drones fly over large fields and take clear pictures. Farmers can see if crops are healthy, need more water or have pests, saving much time and energy compared to walking around fields themselves.
Besides, drones are useful in search and rescue (搜救) work. When someone gets lost in the mountains or a forest, rescuers can use drones to look for them. Drones can cover large areas quickly and send real-time videos back to rescuers. This makes it much easier to find the lost person faster, especially in dangerous or hard-to-reach places.
However, using drones also has some safety rules. For example, drones cannot fly near airports because they may cause accidents and must not be used to take photos of other people’s houses without permission (允许). Following these rules helps keep everyone safe and protects people’s privacy.

(十二)Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient way of health care in China with a history of thousands of years. TCM focuses on keeping Yin and Yang in balance and making sure the body’s energy runs well.
One of the most famous parts of TCM is herbs. For example, if we cough, TCM-trained doctors might give us tea made from herbs, which can help our throat feel better. Another part of TCM is acupuncture. Acupuncture uses thin needles (针) that are gently put into our skin. Though it may sound scary, it’s not painful at all.
▲ A TCM hospital in Heihe, Heilongjiang Province, has become a popular place for Russian patients. A Russian woman, Yelena, had back problems for years. She felt much better after only two TCM treatments, and she now deeply believes in TCM. Besides Russia, other countries also show great interest in TCM. For example, a Canadian college is partnering with a TCM hospital in Sanya to set up a new treatment center.

A few months ago, the government introduced a new guideline (指导方针) to cut down the number of tests for primary and middle school students.
According to the new rule, middle schools can only hold two fixed exams each term: one mid-term exam and one final exam. A teacher from Gansu named Feng Meili said, “This change helps students move away from studying just for tests and focus more on developing useful skills. It keeps them interested in learning and supports their long-term personal growth.”
In addition, test results will be shown as grades (such as A, B, C) instead of exact scores, and schools are not allowed to rank (给……排名) students by scores publicly. The main purpose is to find out where students need more help and improve the quality of teaching.
Many students and teachers are happy about this change, while others have worries.
Ji Hanhan, a 14-year-old student from Beijing, is glad to have fewer tests. However, he worries that students who have poor self-control might lose their drive to study. He suggests replacing some written tests with hands-on experiments or practical tasks to judge how well students learn.
Sun Xiao, a teacher from Jiangsu, points out that scores can more clearly show how well students have understood the lessons, while grades might make some students overconfident. “A small difference in scores can show a lot in learning,” he said. He also mentioned that many parents judge their children’s schoolwork mainly by test scores and may feel worried about the grade-based evaluations (等级制评价).
As for how the rule will be put into practice, Feng Meili hopes teachers can get more training and better tools, such as clear evaluation systems, to support their work.

When people get old, they stop working. The same goes for power batteries (电池) in new energy cars. But after these batteries “retire”, they can be recycled. Recently, China has put out 22 national standards for the recycling of these car batteries.
As batteries get older, they don’t work as well. When they can only hold 75% of their first power, they’re close to the end of their service life in a car. Some metals (金属) in the dying batteries are harmful to people. They may also cause fires or explosions (爆炸).
Recycling the batteries is of great benefit. For example, China needs a lot of lithium (锂). In 2023, it imported about 0.077 million tons of lithium from other countries. Recycling lithium from used batteries can reduce the need to bring in so much.
One main method of recycling uses water or oil to get useful metals back. It separates the battery’s electric parts from thin pieces of materials. Chemicals are used to break down the glue. The remaining small bits are then mixed into a special water. Useful metals are taken through a method. It puts two kinds of liquids (液体) that don’t mix well together, like oil and water. This makes it easy to separate and collect the metals.
But this process could lead to waste water and gas. Many companies are trying to solve this problem. For example, new energy car maker BYD burns the liquid components (液态成分) in the old batteries at 1,100℃ to turn it into safe gases. The harmful gases are gone after a second burn and quick cooling.

(十七)In 2026, robots became the biggest stars on China’s Spring Festival Gala, an important TV show watched by millions of families. This event was special because it showed the world the rapid progress of Chinese technology. The most exciting act was called “WuBOT”, a martial arts performance that perfectly mixed traditional Chinese kung fu with modern robot science.
In this act, many robots danced and fought together with young human artists. They did not just stand still; they moved very fast and reacted to music perfectly. Some robots performed drunk boxing, a difficult kung fu style, while others played with nunchaku (双节棍). One robot even jumped over two meters high and did a full flip in the air.
Their movements were so smooth and strong that many people watching on TV could not believe they were machines. The cooperation between humans and robots was also wonderful. They passed weapons to each other and fought in groups, showing perfect teamwork.
Besides kung fu, robots also appeared in other shows. In a comedy show, a robot acted as an actor, talking and moving just like a human. In another show, over one hundred robot pandas danced together in the rain, showing perfect teamwork. This show was not just fun to watch; it was also a big step for technology. (十八)The use of AI companions (陪伴) is growing quickly. Companies offer people AI friends, and many people now use chatbots as someone to talk to.
This is not surprising. AI companions offer something that no human relationship can—intimacy (亲密关系) without risk. They never blame you for a bad day. They don’t get angry. And they don’t judge you. They listen patiently and always seem to understand you. This lack of friction (摩擦) is attractive, because real human relationships are hard. In real life, people may misunderstand each other or even hurt one another. These experiences are not pleasant, but they are unavoidable. That is why many people are attracted to AI—it seems to offer all the good parts of a relationship without the difficult parts.
However, this “perfect” experience may not be good for us. According to some experts, parents who always meet every need of their child perfectly don’t produce a thriving child; they produce a dependent one. It is small, manageable failures that actually help children learn patience and become stronger.
Just as children need small failures to grow, we also need imperfect relationships to develop. When we prefer easy and comfortable connections, we may stop developing important skills. For example, we may become less able to deal with stress, accept different opinions, or control our emotions. AI provides a “perfect” relationship with no arguments or discomfort, but it removes the friction that helps us improve.
More importantly, new ideas and creativity often come from disagreement and challenge. While AI can be asked to challenge us, that kind of friction is something we can control and stop when we feel uncomfortable. Real creative friction is different: it comes from another mind that sees things in entirely new ways. We can’t control or stop it, especially when our idea’s weaknesses are pointed out—and this is exactly what forces us to rethink.
So what meaningful steps can we take to protect the friction First, we can start by noticing when we turn to AI just for comfort. Also, instead of avoiding difficult conversations with other people, learn to work through them. Ask them for honest opinions and really listen. Finally, make sure to spend more time on real face-to-face communication with others.
AI can act like a friend, but it cannot take the place of real human relationships. Though imperfect, real human relationships are where growth happens—through friction. To replace them with the comfort of AI would be a great loss.
71.How does the writer develop paragraph 2
A.By telling a story of using chatbots as friends.
B.By comparing AI with real human relationships.
C.By describing the pleasant experiences with AI.
D.By introducing the popularity of AI companions.
72.What does the underlined word “thriving” mean in paragraph 3
A.Following rules strictly in daily life.
B.Taking risks bravely in new situations.
C.Listening to others completely for everything.
D.Developing healthily and becoming independent.
73.According to paragraph 6, what is a good example of real creative friction
A.Turn to AI for comfort whenever you feel uncomfortable.
B.Listen to a friend who points out your mistakes honestly.
C.Use chatbots to help you rewrite a passage in a pleasant way.
D.Avoid disagreements in face-to-face conversation with others.
74.What is the main purpose of the passage
A.To teach parents how to raise independent children with the help of AI.
B.To show the fast development of AI companions and the reasons behind it.
C.To warn people to stop using AI companions because of their disadvantages.
D.To remind people not to give up real human relationships for AI companions.
(十九)In Qingdao, 29-year-old Cui Yameng runs “Yameng’s Home” — a guesthouse designed for everyone, including people with disabilities.
Cui’s idea started in college. When traveling with friends with disabilities, she saw how small things stopped them from enjoying trips. So she turned her home into a guesthouse. Everything is thoughtful: adjustable (可调节的) mirrors in the bathroom, and height-adjustable beds in the room.

Can you believe it 98 A US company IBM has made this kind of drone. It can deliver coffee to sleepy people. The drone can know when to bring a cup of coffee by studying a person’s personal information. 99 There is a special device (设备) under the drone. It helps the drone to give coffee. The drone can also learn about someone’s coffee—drinking habits and tell when someone needs the next cup of coffee.
100 One company in Africa uses drones to deliver medicine and blood fast and save many people’s lives. Many students feel stressed before high school and college entrance exams. Heavy study tasks and high expectations make them anxious and tired easily. Every year, students do things to help them relax before big exams. 102
In the UK, there are many fun traditions before exams. People may see “wishing trees” with coins hammered (钉入) into the skin of the trees. 103 For example, boys may avoid eating chicken because the expression “being a chicken” means “being scared” in English.
104 In South Korea, parents give their kids sticky rice balls before exams. This is because the word “stick” sounds like “pass” in their language. People believe that eating them helps students pass their exams successfully.
In the US, students have different habits before exams. Some students use a special pen that they save for the most important moment. The pen must be a gift from someone who loves them. 105 Others do simple things, like doing exercises that they think may gain a sense of luck and peace.

(六)Loving Yourself More
“Love you, laoji” is a catchphrase now. Literally, “laoji” means “the old self”. Although calling ourselves this way is a bit funny, it makes us feel warm at heart. We are beginning to see self-care as a kind of romance, instead of just waiting for love from others. But how to love laoji more 107
Don’t stick to perfection. Waiting to be perfect often means never starting. 108 But doing something imperfect is better than doing nothing at all. “Start small, learn as you go.” The first step matters most.
Take real rest. Real rest isn’t sleeping all day or staying up late on your phone. 109 Try active rest—gentle activities that help your body and mind recover (恢复). 110 Choose one or two small things each day to recharge (充电).

(七)In 2026, the “spring and autumn holidays” for primary and middle school students were a hot topic at the Two Sessions (两会). 112 .
The government will support qualified (符合条件的) areas to try these short holidays. Provinces like Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Sichuan have already tested this policy. It has got good results. The aim is to let families travel in off-peak seasons and promote (促进) local consumption (消费).
113 . They can reduce study pressure (压力) after long-term learning. And they can keep students healthy in body and mind. The weather is mild, so students can go out of the classroom to take part in practical (实践的) activities. 114 . This helps students turn book knowledge into real-life experience. It is a win-win situation for education and society.
115 . Many working parents cannot look after their children during the holidays. To solve this problem, schools now provide childcare services with interesting activities. Local communities also offer more programs. Besides, the holidays can be arranged flexibly (灵活地) according to local situations.

In China, a name is the first and special gift from parents to their child. It carries deep love, good wishes, and a connection to family and culture.
117 They choose beautiful words from old Chinese books and famous poems. For example, a mother named her daughter “Qirou (绮柔)” from the ancient book Dao De Jing. She hopes her daughter will grow gentle yet strong. Another name is “Yanzhou (砚舟).” 118 In his poem, the inkstone, a tool for writing, is compared to a boat that carries thoughts through brush and
ink. This shows that modern parents value their cultural traditions and want to pass them on.
Names often show the time when a person is born. 119 These names showed the hard-working spirit of that period in China. In the 1990s, names became more poetic, with words like “Meng” (dream) and “Yu” (rain), influenced by popular culture like TV dramas.
Some families have their own old family rules for names. In one village in Zhejiang Province, all family members get their names from a single, old poem. Every five years, a new character (汉字) from the poem is used for all babies born in that period. 120
A Chinese name is much more than just a word to call someone. 121 It tells a story about a family’s hopes and a country’s culture. It reminds us of who we are and guides us toward becoming good persons. This meaningful gift from parents lasts a lifetime.
A.It is a bridge between the past and the future.
B.It comes from a poem by Zeng Gong, a poet from the Song Dynasty.
C.For people born in the 1980s, names usually included “Wei” or “Qiang”
D.Some parents care more about whether the name sounds modern and special.
E.Today, many young Chinese parents are looking to the past for naming ideas.
F.This tradition helps everyone remember their family history and where they come from.
(九)When you come back to your home on a hot summer night, you find that the lights are already on, the air conditioner has been working for 30 minutes to cool the room, and the rice you prepared this morning has been cooked just before you arrive. … 122 A smart home is a home where users can remotely control devices (设备) from anywhere with an internet connection using a mobile phone or other networked devices.
There are countless kinds of smart home products, from heating to lighting to entertainment and security. Heating products may be equipped with temperature or humidity sensors (湿度传感器) that automatically turn on or off when required. 123
These home devices are really “smart”, as they have self-learning abilities. 124 As for smart home lighting controls, they help homeowners reduce electricity use and save energy-related costs. Some home automation systems even alert the homeowner if they detect any motion in the home when they’re away, while others can call the police or the fire department in case of danger.
125 Paul Boag, a user experience consultant from the UK, wrote on his blog that smart home devices are usually advertised as easy enough to fix by yourself. But this doesn’t seem to always be the case. For example, although Boag’s wife used to be a professional engineer, fitting the smart home light switches is a huge challenge even for her.
Boag also mentioned apps (应用程序) for these smart home devices are always disappointing.
126 And what’s worse, every device has its own app, leading to a large number of apps for users to deal with.
A.Some apps are not well-made as expected.
B.However, there are still a few problems with smart homes.
C.Smart home devices can work well without people’s control.
D.They can learn the homeowner’s daily plans and make changes.
E.Users can also set lights to change according to sunrise or sunset times.
F.Such scenes show how smart homes can predict your arrival time exactly.
(十)To reduce travel stress during the busy tourist seasons and allow students to enjoy better travel experiences with their families, Sichuan Province has introduced the spring and autumn breaks for primary and middle schools. 127 One is around the Qingming Festival, and the other is in November.
128 For Grade 9 students in Liangshan, the autumn break is even more special, for it can come along with the traditional Yi New Year. 129 For example, making tuotuo meat and taking part in bonfire dances, while also taking a break from heavy study. Some people think these short holidays can help lower the pressure from heavy study and offer chances to enjoy nature, do voluntary work, or learn about their national culture.
130 They worry the breaks might break students’ study plans for the high school entrance exam. In fact, proper rest helps make learning more efficient (有效率的). 131 It makes these breaks meaningful for growth. This new policy is seen as a step toward a more balanced education system.
A.Students are very sad about the news.
B.However, some people have different opinions.
C.The news led to a hot discussion around China.
D.It’s important to balance (平衡) rest and study.
E.Students will have two 3-day breaks.
F.During the break, students can join family activities of the Yi New Year.
(十一)Face recognition (识别) is an amazing technology that helps computers tell people’s faces apart. We can use this technology in many different places. 132
How Does a Machine Learn to Recognise You
Step 1: Finding a Face
The camera looks for basic parts of a face—two eyes, a nose and a mouth. At first, the computer only finds a shape that looks like a face. It doesn’t know whether it is a real person’s face.
Step 2: Mapping Facial Features (特点)
Once a face is found, the system carefully checks the key features. It studies how far the two eyes are apart, where the nose is, and how the mouth looks. All these form a person’s information. 133
Step 3: Turning Faces into Data (数据)
After your key features turn into numbers, the face becomes a set of puters are good at processing numbers, so this data of your face is stored on the machine or compared with a large database (数据库). 134
Step 4: Learning with AI
With the help of AI technology, the computer studies thousands of face photos. 135 Smiling, wearing glasses or growing older will not fool the system.
Step 5: Matching and Decision-Making
Instead of giving a direct yes or no, the system provides a similarity score. A high enough score means a successful match, allowing your phone to unlock or letting you enter.
Today, face recognition is widely used to unlock phones and organize photos. Airports also use it to check important lists. 136 Luckily, scientists and engineers are trying hard to improve it. They hope to make it safer and more useful for everyone.
A.It can tell how people feel from their faces.
B.However, the technology still has some problems.
C.It slowly learns which parts of the face never change.
D.For example, we can see it from smartphones to airport safety systems.
E.If the new data matches the saved one, the system knows who you are.
F.The information is turned into numbers, creating a special “faceprint” for each person.
(十二)Nowadays, many students spend too much time on digital devices (数码设备) like smart phones and computers. Staying healthy in this digital world is not easy. 137
Limit (限制) Screen Time
Spending long hours on screens is bad for your eyes and body. Doctors suggest taking a 10-minute break every hour. 138 You can stand up, walk around or look at something far away.
Do Regular Exercise
139 But many students like to stay indoors and play on phones. As a young man, you can try to exercise for at least one hour a day. Simple activities like walking, playing basketball or riding a bike work well.
Eat Healthily
Many students eat junk food while using digital products. 140 Fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains are good choices. Drink enough water instead of sugary drinks.
141
Using phones before bed makes it hard to fall asleep. You should sleep for 8-9 hours every night. Good sleep helps your body and brain rest and grow.
Stay Connected with Others
Don’t just make friends online. Spend time with family and classmates in real life. This keeps your mind healthy too. When you feel worried, you can talk to the people around you.
A.Get Enough Sleep
B.Here are some useful tips for you.
C.Exercise keeps your body strong and fit.
