Pre-reading activity- Show the picture of Alice writing a letter and ask: Who is she Why is she writing a letter Guide students to predict the content of the letter.Reading ComprehensionPlay the audio recording and let the students listen for the first time to get the general idea.- Have the students read Alice's letter and complete question 1b: Why is Alice unhappy - Explain key vocabulary, formation of "unhappy", the difference between "either" and "too, also, as well" and the usage of "practise" .3. Understanding the Reply - Have students read Dr Know's reply and complete question 2 in section 1b: Does Dr Know think Alice is right - Explain key points: better person, focus on, build school spirit, think about, relax, etc.- Guide students to understand the significance of the rules: respecting teachers and classmates, concentrating on studies, and cultivating school spirit. 4. Complete Task 1c- Ask students to complete Alice's notes based on the content of the letter.- Guide students to retell the content of the letter. 1. Observe the pictures and predict the content of the letter.2. Listen to the recording and understand the general idea.3. Read the letter and answer the questions.4. 教学反思 本节课上得还算顺利,学生挺积极的,能从自己家有哪些规则聊起,阅读任务也能跟着一步步完成,基本理解了规则的重要性。但问题也有,讲单词和句型时花时间太长,后面阐述原因的时间就不够了,有的小组还没说就下课了。下次要注意控制讲解时间,多留点时间给学生说。
