2. It’s a fantasy classic about a girl who gets lost in a magical world. 它是一部奇幻经典,讲的是一个女孩在魔法世界里迷路的故事。
① 在复合句中,修饰某一名词或代词的从句叫作定语从句。定语从句通常位于它所修饰的名词或代词之后,被修饰的名词或代词叫先行词。当先行词指人时,关系代词可用who或that。
e.g. We shall never forget Mr. Li who/that taught us English in middle school.
我们永远不会忘记在中学时教我们英语的李老师。
② get lost 迷路
该短语是系表结构。get在此是连系动词;lost是形容词,意为“迷路的,迷失的”。 同义表达为lose one’s way。
e.g. If you have a map, you won’t be afraid when you get lost.
如果你有一张地图,迷路时就不会感到害怕。
We always lose our way in Chongqing.
我们在重庆总是迷路。
lost还可意为“丢失的;失去的”
e.g. The two boys are looking for a lost ball.
这两个男孩在寻找一个丢失的球。
3. I’ve always preferred the book to the movie.
比起电影,我一直更喜欢这本书。
这句话用到了现在完成时,强调“一直以来都是更喜欢书,而非电影”。have always preferred突出“喜好从过去持续到现在”。
对话中相同的用法还有I’ve always loved reading fantasy books.
