Being disabled doesn't stop Guilhem Gallart, a French musician, from making music. For many years, he was a successful record producer and recording artist. He was known as "Pone" and helped spread hip hop in France in the 1990s and early 2000s, creating many popular songs with his music group Fonky Family.
In 2015, Pone was told to have ALS. ALS is an illness that can influence the ability to move, speak, eat and even breathe. There's no medicine that works for ALs at present. Because of it, Pone has to depend on a machine to breathe, and can't move any of his body parts except his eyes.
But technology has given Gallart new possibilities. With the help of the certain software (软件), his eye movements are tracked (跟踪), and as a result, he is able to write.
"I have once again discovered Pone that I knew before," said his wife Wahiba. "And even stronger than he was before."
The effort has resulted in a album (专辑), Listen and Donate, which came out in June, 2021. With this album, Pone hoped to raise money for the organization called Trakadom. The charity (慈善机构) was set up by him with two doctors. Its goal is to train more care takers and help patients to receive care at home. A lunch break is an important and often necessary part of our working or school day. It's time to get something to eat and maybe chat with some friends. And now we're gradually getting used to plenty of places to buy our lunch from, all offering delicious dishes and sandwiches to eat.
But buying our lunch is not just costing us money, there might be a cost in polluting our planet, too. Just a sandwich and maybe a cake and coffee can produce much waste. Packing paper and plastic are part of disposable (一次性的) materials besides the food waste that we create. Some experts say throwing away food is a big cause of environmental problems.
As for the solution (解决办法) to the problem, according to an environmental group called Hubbub, is to eat packed lunches. Tessa Tricks from the group thinks it's usually healthier and cheaper to make your own lunch. ▲
Of course, if you don't have time to prepare your packed lunch and you are going to buy lunch, Hubbub proposes that you should take your own food container (容器) to a shop and ask them to put your food in it. The idea of using reusable coffee cups for hot drinks and refilling water bottles has already been known successful, so this could be another step in the right direction.
The problem with eating is that you might want to carry your food in something that is disposable, so it's a good idea to make sure it's something recyclable. Different Kinds of Rest
We go to bed when we're tired. But in fact, rest is much more than sleeping at night. Many of us are missing out on the other kinds of rest that we really need.
The first type of rest we need is physical rest. It can be passive (被动的) or active. Passive physical rest refers to sleeping, while active physical rest includes activities like yoga (瑜伽). These activities help your body to relax.
