AI brings me real benefits. It helps correct my grammar mistakes, explains difficult words quickly, and even

For a long time, I didn’t really think about waste. I would throw things away without asking where to put them.

Sam thought his classmate Kevin was the strangest person in school. Kevin never talked to anyone. He often
wore the same brown jacket and sat alone at lunch. Sam once tried to say hello, but Kevin just walked away. “He
thinks he’s too cool for us,” Sam told his friend. Sam avoided Kevin after that. To him, Kevin was just a cold,
unfriendly boy who didn’t care about anyone. But everything changed one rainy afternoon.
Sam’s mother had given him a special book before she died two years ago. On the inside cover, she had
written a short message. That book was Sam’s most valuable thing. One day, by accident, Sam put it into the
school’s old book donation box. It collects unwanted books and usually sends them to a recycling center, where
most are crushed (压碎 ) or turned into new materials. When he realized his mistake, the box had already been
taken to the recycling center. Sam ran there, but the worker said, “Sorry, all books were crushed this morning.”
Sam’s heart broke.
The next week, Sam was cleaning his desk when he found something unexpected. His book — the very one
his mother had signed — was lying right there, wrapped in a plastic bag. A small note was attached:
“I saw it in the donation box and took it out before the truck came. Sorry, I never talk to you. I’m just shy.
— Kevin.”
Sam couldn’t believe his eyes. His hands trembled (颤抖 ) as he read the note. He hugged the book, tears
rolling down his face. “How could I have been blind ” Kevin, the “cold” boy he had avoided, had saved his most
precious treasure without saying a single word.
