1.This comes as no surprise, given that English has borrowed words from more than 300 different languages, including Latin, Greek, French and Chinese.

条件状语从句的引导词还有assuming that、 considering that、 suppose/supposing that、 providing/provided that等,表示一种假设条件,意为“假如,除非,以……为条件”。
