Dear teachers and students,
I’m Li Hua。It's my honor to deliver a speech here on the topic of "My Favorite Sport".
As we all know, doing sports plays an important role in helping us keep fit. Among all the sports, I have a preference for running.
Running benefits us a lot. First, it helps reduce illnesses and pains. Second, running in the early morning enables us to have a first breath of fresh air, which is good for our lungs. What's more, running burns fat, which allows us to stay in good shape. In short, So attractive is running that I expect more and more people to take part in the activity.
That's all. Thank you!

Para.1 When the evening started, we had a lot of activities to join in. We first ate nianyefan, or Spring Festi-val Eve dinner, which is the most important and lavish dinner of the entire year. Shortly after the dinner, at 8 o’clock sharp, the chunwan, or Spring Festival Gala, started airing on TV. Afterward, we went to a park nearby to set off firecrackers, which is also an important part of the festival. At the end of the last day of the year, Ms Huang started another traditional activity: handing out red envelopes. The envelope I received had 200yuan in it!
Para.2 This Chinese New Year experience has become a highlight of my year. In the activities, I felt joy, warmth, and excitement. My dearest teacher and her family treated me as their own, which made me feel like I was part of a real family reunion. I’m forever grateful for all the people I’ve met because of learning Chinese. And I hope all other expat friends can have the opportunity to experience such an unforgettable Chinese New Year as I did.2026届高考英语模拟练习试卷

Keeping a close eye on your pet's health is incredibly important but getting to a vet clinic in person isn't always possible. Thankfully, there are more options out there that keep your fur babies comfortable.
Mobile vets
"At-home services are becoming increasingly popular, especially after COVID," explains Dr Audrey Shen, founder of Aussie Mobile Vet.There are upsides to mobile vet services, such as routine check-ups , or more complicated consults, and ambulance transport , but it's important to remember they don't have a veterinary hospital licence. "This means if your pet needs treatment such as continual monitoring, X-rays or surgery under general anaesthetic(麻醉药), this will have to be done in a vet hospital," says Dr Shen.
Telehealth
Our team can examine your pet, give first aid advice and provide you with an action plan ." says leading Australian vet Dr Lisa Chimes. "Whenever you have a question, our vets can give you quick advice and peace of mind within minutes via phone, text or video chat," Dr Chimes says. Importantly, she says telehealth should never replace in-person veterinary care and physical examinations. "If they become injured or unwell, you should always try to see your vet or local emergency service if you can," she says.
Palliative pet care
Saying goodbye to our beloved pets is never easy. But Melbourne veterinarian Dr Amanda Tenne from Sunset Vets is helping to take some of the stress out of end of life care. This type of care gives its patients much-needed comfort, even if healing medicine is no longer possible. Dr Tenne offers acupuncture(针灸)to help keep pets comfortable and happy for as long as possible. "Whether it be a palliative care appointment or euthanasia, delivering these services in the home often makes the process quite peaceful and can sometimes help ease a family's grief at this difficult time," she says.
What should you do if your pets get injured and need continual monitoring
You should call Mobile Vets to come straight to your home.
You should have your pets get acupuncture to help them comfortable.
You should get quick advice via phone , text or video chat .
You should try to see your vet or send them to the vet hospital.
Which service should you choose if your pet need much comfort at the end of its life

As the summer sun sets, the alluring fragrance of Yurui flowers becomes irresistible to tourists, drawing them to explore the village of Qili on the island province of Hainan.
Yurui, a species of Barringtonia racemosa, is a tree that produces white, pink and red flowers. It usually blooms at night from May to September and has a delicate fragrance.
Famous during the Tang Dynasty(618-907), Yurui is now rare in most parts of China due to climate change and the vicissitudes of the dynasties. It mainly grows in southern China.

These companies could launch34 projects with a total investment value of approximately 10.58 billion yuan($1.47 billion).

After reading many personal development books over the years, I am somewhat skeptical when something new is brought to the table. Is a book about how to get up in the morning, and what to do when you first get up, really necessary
Since reading The Miracle Morning, and putting into practice the advice given, I can answer Yes.
Written by Hal Elrod, an established motivational speaker and author, The Miracle Morning focuses on a neglected subject area: how to wake up in the morning and begin your day in a manner which helps you grow as a person and function optimally.
After an introduction about Hal's background, (including an account of his near fatal car crash and subsequent recovery), The Miracle Morning cuts straight to the chase, discussing tactics for waking up and puts forward 6 activities you should include in a morning routine which helps you develop.
These 6 activities are named SAVERS, that is, S - Silence, A - Affirmations, V - Visualization, E - Exercise, R - Reading and S - Scribing (Writing).
Hal explains how to create a morning routine designed for just you, which can be adjusted if your circumstances or goals change. Hal also talks about how people who consider themselves 'night owls' can become morning 'larks' and that once the habit of the Morning Miracle is established, performing this on a daily basis becomes much easier.
I've always considered myself to be a morning person so such a routine is perhaps easier for me to establish. However, with the arrival of my baby boy I have developed into a night owl, working late into the night when he is asleep. With the help of this book, I'm finding it feasible to work late and wake early morning to perform my routine.
As Hal discusses in his chapter about habit, it takes 30 days for new habits to become established. Why not read this book, try out your own morning routine for 30 days and see if it will transform your life
Which word can best describe the author’s initial feeling to the book The Miracle Morning

A.Challenging. B. Flexible. C. Workable. D. Impossible.

A.To share a book review and recommend it to more readers.

Umbrella species are usually chosen because scientists believe that they are the best representatives of the ecosystem that needs to be protected.
One characteristic that researchers look for in an umbrella species is their large size. That’s because the larger the individual is, the more area they need to survive. They tend to require more space to find enough food, good mates, and raise their young. Since the area where they live is often very large, it's more likely that those areas will also be home to lots of other species that need conservation.
Maybe the most well-known umbrella species is the giant panda. Research from scientists at Duke University showed that 96% of giant panda habitat overlaps with the habitats of species that are only found in that area of China. Current conservation areas for giant pandas overlap all but one local species habitat. By protecting the home ranges of the giant panda, the essential habitat for these species is also preserved.
The benefits of using umbrella species to protect other species in a region have been shown through decades of research. Conservation based on the identification of umbrella species home range has provided a "shortcut" to the protection of areas that may otherwise have been disturbed.
But as more studies are done on the effectiveness of umbrella species, scientists are finding holes in the theory. They’re now redefining how umbrella species should be selected so that more species have a chance to benefit. Several studies have also found that what benefits one species under the umbrella might not be best for all. For example, when the habitat of the greater sage-grouse was managed for its benefit, it actually reduced the numbers of two other species of birds that depend on sagebrush for survival. By changing the habitat of the umbrella species for its benefit, instead of just conserving the area, other species may be harmed.
32.What is the striking feature of an umbrella species
A.Healthy. B. Active. C. Huge. D. Intelligent.
33.Why is the giant panda mentioned in Paragraph 3
A.To illustrate how an umbrella species help protect the ecosystem.
B.To explain the definition of an umbrella species.
C.To clarify the pros and cons of choosing one umbrella species over another.
D.To introduce the practice of China’s effort in wildlife conversation.
34.What is the main idea of the last paragraph
A.The successful example of adopting an umbrella species.
B. The criterion of choosing a suitable umbrella species.
C.The limitation of adopting some umbrella species.
D.The trials and errors of using umbrella species.
35.What is the author’s attitude towards using umbrella species
A.Supportive. B. Critical. C. Disapproving. D. Objective.

D. In another report, Zhaopin revealed a much more amazing phenomenon.

Dear teachers and students,
第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I believe that most people-- both Chinese learners and non-Chinese learners-- must have heard about the magical Chinese New Year. As someone who started learning Chinese at the age of 11, I remember that in all the China-related materials that I could get my hands on--from textbooks to films-- the Chinese New Year has always been mentioned as one of the most important elements. So ever since those early days, spending a Chinese New Year in China has been on my wish list. And it finally became a reality at the beginning of this year.
What I was anticipating most about the festival was its warmth as I had learned that it’s the time of year when family members travel across the country-- or even the world--to return to their homes to reunite with their loved ones. Even though I don’t have family in China,I have the next best thing-- my Chinese teacher Huang Li--who invited me to her home for the festival.
After arriving on the Spring Festival Eve, we immediately started pre-paring for the evening’s festivities. I changed into a red sweater because red is the traditional color of the festival and is believed by Chinese people to be an auspicious color. By the way, here is an interesting fact: If this year is “your year” according to the Chinese zodiac, you should definitely wear something red to protect yourself from bad luck.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Paragraph 1: When the evening started, we had a lot of activities to join in
Paragraph 2: This Chinese New Year experience has become a highlight of my year.
