大作文
Paragraph 1:
I was looking through the files on the USB drive when one video caught my eye. It was titled “For My Brother – Don’t Delete.” I clicked it. Brian appeared on the screen, pale but smiling. “Hey, little brother,” he said softly. “If you’re watching this, you probably found my USB. I knew you took the prize money. I saw you run to the store that day.” He paused, coughing a little. “I was angry at first, but then I realized you really wanted that tablet. And I wasn’t there to claim the money. So… it’s okay. I forgive you. Just promise me you’ll be honest next time.” Tears welled up in my eyes as the video ended.
Paragraph 2:
“You actually knew and didn’t say anything ” I was shocked. Brian put down the box he was holding and looked at me calmly. “I knew you would feel guilty one day,” he said. “That’s punishment enough.” I fell silent, remembering how I had avoided his eyes for years. “Why didn’t you hate me ” I whispered. He shrugged. “Because you’re my brother. Mom wanted you to be my guardian angel, but angels make mistakes too. The important thing is that you’re here now, helping me pack.” He smiled and handed me another box. That day, I finally understood: being a guardian doesn’t mean being perfect — it means forgiving and staying.2025-2026学年下学期 2027届高二第二次月考

Quantum CTek, a pioneer in quantum (量子) communication, is turning cutting-edge quantum science into real-world products. Founded in 2009 at the University of Science and Technology of China, the company has grown from a lab team into a national “little giant” enterprise. “We always had a clear goal: to bring quantum technology into real life.” said Zhou Lei, project director.
The company develops equipment for quantum-secure communication networks. One of its achievements is the development of ground stations connected to the Micius quantum satellite, enabling ultra-secure long-distance communication. “Micius proved that quantum communication truly works in space and on Earth.” Zhou said.
Quantum CTek has also launched consumer-friendly products like quantum-encrypted calls and messages. By changing a normal SIM card into a quantum SIM card and installing an app, users can enjoy end-to-end encryption (加密). “Our technologies are already serving about 6 million users and more than 3,000 organizations.” said Gu Fengbo, a technical expert.
Unlike traditional encryption, quantum communication uses quantum states as information carriers. Any attempt to eavesdrop changes these states and is immediately detected, which helps protect privacy. The most practical form today is Quantum Key Distribution (QK D). “QK D creates keys based on quantum physics, making them impossible to copy or steal,” Gu explained.
Although some think quantum technology is far from daily life, its importance is growing. Countries like China, the US, and those in the EU are building their own quantum networks. A report cited by the World Economic Forum predicts the global quantum communication market could reach $ 15 billion by 2035. “In the future, information security will be a basic need, like clean water and electricity,” said Zhou. “Quantum communication will be a key way to protect it.”
28.What is the main goal of Quantum CTek
A.To expand its global market.
B.To focus on theoretical research.
C.To turn quantum technology into practical products.
D.To compete with traditional communication companies.
29.How does quantum encryption protect users’ privacy
A. By changing passwords regularly.
B. By detecting any attempt to get information.
C. By using a special SIM card and an app.
D. By installing firewalls to prevent insecure access.
30.What does the underlined word “eavesdrop” in paragraph 4 probably mean
A.Listen secretly. B.Watch carefully.
C. Destroy publicly. D.Gain completely.
31.What is the main idea of the last paragraph
A.The economic forecast of the quantum communication market.
B.The widespread doubt about quantum technology’s practicality.
C.The international competition in quantum network construction.
D.The growing importance and future role of quantum communication.

What would you do if someone did something you didn’t agree with Would you completely stop talking to them Or would you tell them how their actions were wrong
The “cancel culture” trend has been picking up some steam recently. According to Dictionary.com, “cancel culture” is defined as “publicly rejecting, boycotting or ending support for particular people or groups because of their socially or morally unacceptable views or actions”.
Neelam, a 17-year-old high school senior in the US, told The New York Times that she wasn’t being sensitive when she saw someone doing something wrong and “called them out” for it.
However, others think that “canceling” people is counterproductive and can actually be harmful to the person.
To Ben, a high school junior in Providence, Rhode Island, US, canceling someone “takes away the option for them to learn from their mistakes and kind of alienates them”. Ben, 17, thinks that people should be held accountable for their actions, regardless if they are your friend or someone famous.
In fact, quite a few celebrities have already faced the wrath of cancel culture. Some celebrities who have been “canceled” this year include British author of the Harry Potter series J.K. Rowling, US comedian Ellen DeGeneres and English guitarist Eric Clapton.
And, over the summer, about 150 public figures like authors J.K. Rowling and Margaret Atwood signed an open letter against the cancel culture trend. The letter expressed that cancel culture was hurting people’s freedom of expression in areas like the arts, universities and journals.
Professor Loretta Ross, who teaches a university course on cancel culture, is trying to fight back against this new trend. “It really does alienate people, and makes them fearful of speaking up,” she told The New York Times. Ross also noted that cancel culture isn’t new: “What’s new is the virality and the speed and the anonymity.”
Our world is beautiful because of the wonderful mix of different cultures, ideas and opinions. So, the next time you think someone should be “called out” or “canceled”, maybe try calling them in instead.
32.What does the underlined sentence most probably mean in paragraph 3
A.She realized canceling a person was harmful.
B.She thought it was reasonable to cancel a person.
C.She didn’t think it was fair to cancel a person.
D.She thought we shouldn’t cancel a person.
33.Which of the following would Ben most probably agree with
A. Cancel culture doesn’t help with a person’s growth.
B. Cancel culture encourages people to reflect on their mistakes.
C. Canceling people applies to all, whether they are friends or celebrities.
D. Cancel culture makes people unfriendly toward each other.
34.What does Professor Loretta Ross imply
A.People should be careful in expressing their opinions.
B. Cancel culture enables people to speak up freely.
C.The meaning of cancel culture changes with the times.
D.The Internet has made cancel culture more powerful.
35.What does the article mainly talk about
A.The origin of cancel culture. B.Why cancel culture is harmful.
C.The issue of cancel culture. D.Why cancel culture is trendy.

Literature is often called the greatest teacher. It takes readers on journeys to distant lands, different times, and unknown worlds. 36 After a long day of dealing with daily stress, reading a good story can be like taking a deep breath. Through stories, we can experience lives we’ve never lived and understand feelings we may never have felt.
One of the greatest values of literature is its ability to develop empathy. 37 For example, reading The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank allows us to feel the fear and hope of a Jewish girl during World War II. We learn to share the joys and sorrows of characters, which helps us become more understanding and kind.
Moreover, literature enriches our language skills. Reading classic works allows us to learn rich vocabulary, lovely phrases, and well-built sentence structures. For example, when you read a novel by Charles Dickens, you may learn new ways to describe a city or a person.__38___
39 By reading literary works, we can learn about the customs, beliefs, and struggles of people in different times. Reading Dream of the Red Chamber helps us understand family life and social rules in ancient China. Literature helps us appreciate the diversity of human experience and gain a deeper understanding of our own world.
In a world filled with rapid changes, literature remains a lifelong teacher. 40 A textbook tells you facts, but literature teaches you about life. It challenges us to think critically, dream bravely, and grow into better selves. Whether you are happy or sad, busy or free, a good book is always there waiting for you.
A.It helps us escape from reality for a while.
B. Also, literature is a window to human soul.
C.It offers wisdom that no textbook can provide.
D.Literature also serves as a bridge to history and culture.
E.Yet a textbook alone cannot make you a better person.
F.When reading novels, we step into different characters’ shoes.
G.This helps improve our writing and express ourselves better.

I'd always been told to take care of my older brother, Brian, who was born weak and small. I'd often tie his shoes or prepare another glass of water for him. My mom saw my larger size and strong body as a sign that I was to be a kind of guardian angel for Brian. However, that was not the case.
One day our school sponsored a short film competition. First prize was $100, and I knew just how I would spend it. There was a brand-new tablet I was dying to own. So I decided the first place bonus definitely had to land in my pocket.
When it came to making the film, I realized my clumsy hands and lack of editing skills would surely screw it up. I thought of Brian's talent for video editing and his steady hands, and knew he was the man for the job. I immediately begged Brian. Unexpectedly, he asked for a cut. That was fifty-fifty. Quickly doing the math in my head, I figured out even if I split the first prize, I'd still have enough cash for the tablet. So I gave in to Brian's demands. With skillful editing, Brian turned our simple footage into an amazing short film, and we had the best entry ever.
Then the unexpected happened: We came in second. Unfortunately, second prize was only $50, and I needed every penny of that to buy the tablet. The day of the awards ceremony, the principal handed over the money to me because Brian was home, sick with cold.
If he really wanted to win, he would have been here today, I thought to myself, justifying stealing the cash from under poor Brian's runny nose. With hardly a thought, I ran to the store and bought my dream tablet. That night when Brian asked if we had won, I denied, afraid to look into his eyes.
The whole thing was never mentioned again until the day Brian was packing for college. I played my usual role in helping him pack when I came across an old US B drive labeled "School Projects".
