Hello, I am Li Na. On October 29th last year, which was the Double Ninth
Festival, my friends and I went to Sunshine Old People’s Home to visit the elderly.
The day before we went there, I made some beautiful paper-cuts and bought fresh
fruit for them.
I still remember when we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the old people.
At first, we helped clean their rooms and read newspapers to them. Then we made
dumplings together, talking and laughing. During lunch, we performed for the elderly.
Wang Fei played the piano beautifully. Lin Hao did a wonderful kung fu show. I told
some interesting school stories to the elderly. What we did made the old people very
happy. After that, we shared Chongyang cakes and talked about our daily life.
Although the elderly missed their families very much, we made them feel warm and

did for them. We learnt how to take care of others, especially the elderly. We hope we
can visit the old people every two weeks.

Recently, the school bus service has been improved with new safety rules.

Today, my topic is “Be thankful, Be warm”. In my opinion, being thankful means
