Discussion

What do you think of Ella’s words “We’ll all be old one day too. It’s important to care for the elderly.”
I think Ella’s words are really meaningful. She reminds us that we will all be old one day, so caring for the elderly is not just a responsibility, but also a way to treat our future selves. Many elderly people feel lonely, and small acts of kindness—like talking to them, helping them with technology, or just listening to their stories—can make a big difference. Respecting and caring for the elderly shows our kindness and makes the world a warmer place.

B: It is tiring and sometimes a bit stressful, but it makes me feel good when I see someone smile and thank me for being there for them.
A: What have you learnt
B: I have learnt that working to help others makes you feel good about yourself!

I once volunteered at our local city library for about six months. I went there every Saturday morning. My main jobs were to put books back on the right shelves and sometimes help people find the books they wanted. I chose to volunteer there because I really love reading and quiet places, and I want to do something useful to help others. The work made me feel calm and helpful—I enjoyed seeing everything tidy and knowing I made it easier for people to find books. Through this experience, I learnt to be more patient and careful, and I realized that even a small job can make a big difference to the community.
