听一篇短文,回答以下三个小题。
World Earth Day is a great day. Every year many people join in green activities to celebrate it.
In China, people often turn off their lights for one hour at night to save energy. In France,
communities organize walks in parks, forests and other public spaces. In England, families are
asked to grow fruits and vegetables in their gardens, helping children love nature and learn how to
care for the earth. Let’s work together and do more to take care of our earth.
听一篇短文,回答以下五个小题。
Hello, everyone, I’m Alex. Recently, I have read an article about table manners on the website. It is
quite interesting. It says that I should never talk when there is food in my mouth. Also I should try
to eat or drink as quietly as possible. However, in Japan, it is okay to make a lot of noise when you
are eating noodles. This article made me think about the cultural differences between countries. For
example, when I go to England, I have to remember never to put my knife in my mouth. This is
very rude. I also need to wait until everyone is at the table before I start eating. So just as the saying
goes, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” It is a good idea to learn about their table manners
before going to another country.八年级英语答案 2026.05

Chinese people are widely known as one of the most hospitable people in the world. If foreigners visit a
八年级英语 第 4页/共 8页
Chinese family, they will not only be served (招待) carefully but deeply moved by the warmth as guests.
When you step into a Chinese family, the host will first greet you warmly and quickly make a cup of tea,
which is a traditional way to show respect. Then, a plate of snacks will be placed on the table, such as candies,
biscuits and local specialties. There will always be family members chatting with you, to make sure you never feel
left out.
Meanwhile, other family members will busy themselves in the kitchen preparing a feast. Chinese people
believe that treating (招待) guests to a rich meal is the best way to express hospitality. They often cook far more
dishes than the guests can eat, including meat, vegetables, soups and desserts. During the meal, the host will let
the guests start eating first. What surprises Western guests most is that the host often picks food for them with
serving chopsticks.
Even after you finish eating and say you are full, the host will still say gently, “It seems you didn’t eat
much. Please have a little more.” This kind of enthusiasm (热情) comes from the depths of Chinese culture. As
Confucius said thousands of years ago: “It is a great pleasure to meet friends from far away.” This ancient wisdom
has been passed down and has become an important part of Chinese tradition.

A. The history of Chinese etiquette.
B. How to make tea for guests in China.
C. Chinese people’s hospitality and treating customs.
D. The differences between Chinese and Western dining cultures.

What would you like for lunch Maybe, a battery (电池) Although it sounds unusual, this has already been
realized by scientists as they develop electronic (电子的) things you can eat.
Robofood, led by Dario Floreano from a Swiss Institute, has created a new drone (无人机) with scientists
from Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Half of the parts inside can be eaten! The program aims to (旨在)
make robots that can be eaten and foods that act like robots by mixing food science and robots in a new way.
The drone’s wings are made from rice cakes glued together with oil and chocolate. It can find missing
people or animals in emergencies (紧急情况) and send food or medicine. Parts of the drone can be eaten because
they meet food safety standards for emergencies set by the United Nations.
However, the main challenge is finding stronger edible (可食用的) materials for the drone’s wings to
prepare for bad weather and high temperatures—of course, the chocolate may melt (融化) easily.
Robofood also developed an edible sensor (感应器) to help monitor stomach sickness, and it’s eaten by the
patient to check the conditions inside. It’s different from other sensors because it’s easy for your body to digest

(消化), so it won’t leave any remains inside the body.
The invention of Robofood also helps with environmental protection. There are batteries that you can fully
eat. They are made from natural things like vitamin B2 and elements found in fruits. This helps the environment
because you won’t have to throw them away like other batteries.
58. What is Robofood’s main goal
A. To develop smart drones. B. To create edible electronics.
C. To help check stomach disease. D. To put sensors on drones.
59. What problem does Robofood’s drone have

C. The materials are not strong enough. D. The materials cannot easily melt.
pared to other sensors for checking the stomach, what can Robofood’s sensors do
A. They can be safer for human body. B. They can check more carefully.
C. They can stay in the human body longer. D. They can be taken as medicine.
61. Why is Robofood’s battery good for nature
A. It uses less power. B. It cuts down pollution.
C. It uses solar power. D. It is made from food waste.

①“Ni hao, we’re all Chinese now.” said many foreign young people on social media. A new trend (趋势)
called “Becoming Chinese” is getting popular in Western countries. Millions of people are sharing their Chinese
way of lifestyle in the Vlogs(视频博客).
②So what do they do in these Vlogs Instead of ice-cold drinks and hamburgers, they drink warm water
with honey and eat rice. At home, they put on soft slippers (拖鞋) to keep “han qi” (cold energy) away. In their
free time, they go to parks to practice Tai Chi (太极 ). Before bed, they take a hot foot bath to relax and sleep
better.
③To those young foreigners, these habits may seem new. But in China, they are a way of life called “Yang
Sheng”—staying healthy to live a long and happy life. In the past, these habits were often seen as something for
the old. Now, young people from around the world are giving them a try.
④Why are they suddenly taking up these traditional habits According to Traditional Chinese Medicine
(TCM), our bodies need a balance between yin and yang. Traditional habits—like drinking hot water — help
keep that balance and keep us healthy. Also, these small actions offer the young a sense of peace in a busy and
stressful world.
⑤This trend also shows that China’s influence is growing—not through big words, but through everyday
habits. Small choices like drinking warm water or practicing Tai Chi are becoming part of life for young people
around the world. When they say “We’re all Chinese now,” it’s no longer just a joke. It’s a real love for a way of
life that values balance, health, and peace.
62. How does the writer start the text
A. By listing daily habits. B. By telling a personal story.
B. By asking a question. D. By sharing an online saying.
63. Tom is a big fan of “Becoming Chinese.” What would you most likely see in his house
A. A cup of iced coffee. B. A hamburger.
C. A set of Tai Chi clothes. D. A bottle of cold drink.
64. What can we learn from Paragraph 3 and 4
A. “Yang Sheng” habits are still only for the old people.
B. Drinking hot water helps balance yin and yang in our bodies.
C. People don’t feel peaceful when they follow the traditional habits.
八年级英语 第 6页/共 8页
D. Foreigners refuse to try Chinese healthy habits.
65. What is the main purpose of the text
A. To compare Chinese and Western lifestyles.
