AIa UseAmong Senior Students
Nowadays, AI tools have been widely adopted by senior students for various learning purposes.
According to the survey, searching for information ranks first, accounting for 70%, followed by
writing assistance and language translation, which make up 55% and 50% respectively. Other uses
account for 10%.
Personally, I believe AI serves as a valuable learning assistant. Not only can we have quick and
easy access to a vast amount of information, but also we can get timely help in writing and
translating. However, we shouldn’t be a slave toAI despite its great advantages.
Therefore, AI can largely support our learning as long as we use it properly and responsibly.

I hesitated, then told him I had fallen and couldn’t move. Without another word, he opened the
unlocked door and rushed to my side. He knelt down, examined my ankle gently, and helped me onto
the sofa. “You should have called me earlier,” he said softly, handing me his phone to reach my
parents. Then he went back home and returned with an ice pack and a bowl of hot soup. Watching
him move around my living room — fetching blankets, adjusting the ice pack — I felt a strange
mix of shame and warmth. Shame for the years I had wasted on pride, and warmth for a kindness I
never knew existed.
The next day, Mr. Miller came by, and my mother brought up the past. Before she could say
another word, I interrupted. “Mr. Miller, I’m truly sorry. I was a kid who didn’t know any better. You
had every right to be upset about your roses.” He looked at me, his eyes softening. “I’m sorry too,”
he said. “I shouldn’t have shouted at a child.” We stood in silence for a moment, six years of cold
nods melting away. At that moment, I learned that sometimes, the hardest step in growing up is
admitting you were wrong. But once you take it, the weight on your shoulders suddenly feels much
lighter.

opened up recently though.
2.【原文】W: Frank, I thought you were working in New York.

6、7【原文】M: How will you travel down to London for the meeting next month

part of the movie, and then they started talking.
M: Oh, I hate it when people do that.
W: The man had seen the movie before. He was telling the woman the entire story.
M: Unbelievable.
W: Well, you won’t believe what happened next. The man to my left asked them to be quiet and they started
arguing. Their voices just got louder and louder.

W: The manager of the cinema was called in.

W: Is that red five-door Kia over there available

amazing to watch Jerry get married today. Seeing the looks of joy on everyone’s faces touched my heart so
dearly. Ever since Jerry and I were kids, people would call us twins. Being a year and a half older than him,
this deeply annoyed me at that time. As I wanted to be the bigger and stronger of us too, we have all been so
close the three of us, me, Jerry and our lovely little sister Janet. Janet, I see from the screen that you are crying
tears of joy. Thanks for your generous gift which has just arrived in time. Although it’s a pity, you are not
present in person, having you online is great too. This family means the world to me, and to Gail, I want to
welcome you to our family. Now I know you all are hungry, but please I suggest all of us walk out to the
garden to watch Jerry and Gail have their first dance as a married couple.徐州三中 2026届高三考前最后一卷

I was on a much-needed walk outside Boston’s Symphony Hall. It had been weeks since I last called home.
Surrounded by unfamiliar routines and strangers, I felt like a background character in someone else’s city. I needed
a moment to breathe. That was when I saw her standing alone at the crosswalk, scanning the street.
As I crossed the street, our eyes locked. She looked at me with such directness that I reflexively smiled and
waved. “Hi, I don’t speak Mandarin, but how can I help ” I asked the older Chinese woman. She showed me a
picture on her phone: the Trader Joe’s grocery store. I performed my best impression of a mime (哑剧) trying to
give directions. Confused, she showed me the picture again.
“OK, I’ll take you there myself,” I said, gesturing for her to come along. Walking down Massachusetts
Avenue, she said “xiè xie” every few moments. I pulled out Google Translate on my phone: “Thank you,” said the
app. I’m not sure why I was taking a stranger grocery shopping. Maybe she reminded me of my Filipino family I
left behind in California. Maybe it was simply that I knew I could help.
When we arrived at the store, I asked her whether she needed anything else. She scrolled to a second
screenshot, this time of sourdough bread, and turned her phone toward me with an expectant look. I laughed and
nodded. As we entered, she raised her eyebrows as though I was her nephew and this was our weekly walk for
groceries. The cashier looked between us. “Are you two related ” I nodded. Easier that way. My new auntie handed
me a bag with a single loaf inside. I refused, but she insisted-pressing the bag into my hands until I accepted. The
cashier, watching this exchange, smiled and let the 10-cent bag fee slide.
Saying goodbye felt bittersweet. We never exchanged names or contact information. All I had to remember
her by was that loaf of bread-a small gift that felt like something much bigger.
24.What can be inferred about the author’s life in Boston
A.He led a boring and stressful life. B.He often assisted strangers in need.
C.He was unfamiliar with the local area. D.He felt out of place in his surroundings.
25.How did the author succeed in talking with the woman
A.By teaching her English. B.By using digital devices.
C.By exchanging the pictures. D.By asking for a cashier’s help.
26.Why did the author tell the cashier they were relatives
A.To win trust from the woman. B.To get a discount on the bread.

C.To avoid a detailed explanation. D.To make the cashier impressive.
27.What does the bread symbolize in the story
A.A comfort in times of loneliness. B.A sign of overcoming life difficulties.

We have more ways to access music than at any time in history and a whole world of unfamiliar styles to
explore. The pleasure of discovering new songs and new sounds can enrich people of all ages. Except, most of the
time, it doesn’t. Our willingness to explore new, unfamiliar music declines with age.
Academics have coined the term “open-earedness” to describe this phenomenon. Until around the age of 11,
children are generally happy to engage with unfamiliar music. Early adolescence (青春期 ) sees a reduction in
open-earedness, but is accompanied by an intense increase in interest in music more generally. Open-earedness
increases slightly during young adulthood, and then declines as we age.
A major study involving more than 250,000 participants confirmed these changing behaviors. It also showed
that the significance we give to music after adolescence declines, and the amount of music we listen to reduces
from a high point of 20% of our waking time during adolescence, to 13% in adulthood.
Researchers have different theories to account for these trends. One explanation for age-based reduction in
music consumption simply assumes that responsibility-burdened adults may have less free time at their disposal (自
由支配) to explore their musical interests than younger people.
Some interpret the observed decline in music engagement in terms of psychosocial maturation. Adolescents
use music as an identity marker and engage with it to navigate (指引 ) social circles. Adults have developed
personalities and established social groups. As such, drivers to engage with new music are lessened.
Some researchers argue that we shouldn’t use a person’s age to predict if their musical taste will stay the
same, without first thinking about how we enjoy and use music at different stages of our lives. Teenagers tend to be
very aware of what they are listening to. Adults who use music as motivation or accompaniment for activities, such
as exercise or household chores, may be less conscious of the extent to which they actually do listen to new music.
28.What does the underlined word “open-earedness” in Paragraph 2 mean
A.The ability to play an instrument. B.The willingness to explore new music.
C.The curiosity about the history of music. D.The sensitivity to different types of music.
29.What did the survey of more than 250,000 people show
A.Teens spend more time on music. B.Adults enjoy music more deeply.
C.Music taste stays fixed in adulthood. D.Teenagers mostly listen to music at school.
30.Why might adults explore less new music according to the text
A.They are uninterested in all music. B.Their social roles are already shaped.
高三英语 第 5 页 共 10 页
C.They lose the ability to enjoy classics. D.Their musical memory becomes weaker.
31.What is the text mainly about
A.Why adults enjoy quiet more. B.How music helps teenagers focus.

Currently, most packaging is single-use and is made with plastic materials obtained from nonrenewable
resources like fossil oil that take hundreds of years to break down in the environment. On top of this, only 9% of
plastic is recycled. This has resulted in the formation of floating piles of plastic garbage in the ocean, called “the
Great Pacific Garbage Patch”. Perhaps the biggest contributor to plastic waste, at least in the United States, is
plastic bags, the kind found at most stores. These bags, while sometimes recycled, are often only used once and can
be found littered throughout the environment.
To address this problem, Srinivas Janaswamy from South Dakota State University is working towards
developing a plastic-like bag that will break down in the environment. The key ingredient of Janaswamy’s work
Cellulose (纤维素) . It’s a common organic substance on Earth and is found, primarily, in the cell walls of plants.
Cellulose gives plants structural strength and firmness thanks to its chemical makeup and long, chain-like form.
“By obtaining cellulose from agricultural products, value-added products can be created,” Janaswamy said.
Janaswamy then met Anne Fennell, a leading researcher in the study of grapevines (葡萄藤) which are rich
in cellulose. Every year, after the majority of new branches on the vine are cut off, they are either cut into pieces
and buried in the soil or burned in some areas. “Since grapevines are plentiful and have insignificant use after
harvest, why not use this for value-added films (薄膜) ” Janaswamy thought.
Janaswamy’s idea led to cooperation, and soon he was getting cellulose which looks almost like cotton —
from grapevines. Janaswamy’s grapevine films are transparent (透明的) and strong, and break down within 17 days
in the soil — leaving behind no harmful remains. “High transparency enhances product visibility and allows a
quick check of the quality without even opening the package. These films demonstrate excellent promise for food
packaging, ” Fennell said.
32.What does the author try to illustrate by mentioning “the Great Pacific Garbage Patch” in Paragraph 1
A.The severe plastic pollution. B.The limits of recycling technology.
C.The improper shopping habits. D.The promise of renewable resources.
33.Why is cellulose essential to Janaswamy’s plastic-like bags
A.It can be found everywhere. B.It can be recycled from food waste.
C.It helps form strong structures. D.It breaks down into usable materials.
34.What advantage of the grapevine films does Fennell highlight in the last paragraph
A.Their low expenses. B.Their user-friendliness.

From Page to Screen
The charm of bringing a classic book to the screen lies in the opportunity to reach a wider audience and
visualize the characters and the story. 36 It demands both respect for the original and courage to
reimagine.
One of the most significant challenges is adapting the often long and complicated narrative of a novel into
the limited runtime of a movie. Novels allow readers to immerse themselves in the story over hundreds of pages,
exploring intricate subplots, character developments, and detailed settings. In contrast, a film typically has just two
to three hours to convey the essence of the story. 37 Namely, they have to decide what to include and
what to leave out.
Reproducing an author’s distinctive tone and literary style is challenging as well. Capturing them on film
requires a deep understanding of the source material and a creative approach to visual storytelling. 38
For example, the 1995 adaptation of Sense and Sensibility directed by Ang Lee captured Jane Austen’s subtle
humor and social comment through its careful attention to period details, character interactions, and the pace of
dialogue, making it one of the most beloved adaptations of her novels.
Another challenge is portraying beloved characters that have lived in the imaginations of readers for
generations. These characters are often vividly described in the novels, and readers develop strong attachments to
their own interpretations. 39 Yet, a well-cast actor can make the characters come alive. Therefore,
filmmakers must consider not only physical resemblance but also the ability to convey the characters’ complexities
and inner struggles when casting.
In the end, the art of adaptation lies in striking the right balance between faithfulness and innovation.
40
A.Great adaptations achieve this masterfully.
B.It requires filmmakers to make tough choices.
C.However, this journey is full of potential difficulties.
D.The mental images can be difficult to match on screen.
E.Filmmakers focus on such details to present a novel’s plot.
F.Only in this way can we honor the past and speak to the present.
