情态动词:should, had better, ought to
should “应该”,表建议
肯定式:主语 + should + 动词原形
否定式:主语 + should not(shouldn't ) + 动词原形
had better “最好做某事”,
肯定式:主语 + had better('d better) + 动词原形
例:He'd better finish the poster before the deadline..
否定式:主语 + had better not + 动词原形
例:You'd better not miss the speech competition.(你最好不要错过演讲比赛。)
ought to “”应该做”
肯定式:主语 + ought to + 动词原形
否定式:主语 + ought not to + 动词原形
注意: should/ought to 可用于各种人称,had better 的主语通常是第二人称(you),也可用于第一、三人称,但语气较为口语化。
should 可用于否定句、疑问句,had better 一般不用于疑问句,否定式直接在better 后加 not。

Dear Grace,
Last week, I took part in English Week at my school. The activity was held from Monday to Friday at the school hall. We organized many interesting events, such as an English speech competition, a poster design contest, and a treasure hunt.
I joined the speech competition. I chose a topic about the importance of learning by doing. It took me a long time to prepare the speech, but I practised speaking every morning. My teacher was pleased with my progress. On the day of the competition, I felt nervous but I tried my best. Finally, I won second prize. I was happy with the result and felt all the effort was worth it.
It was a great opportunity to practice English and express my opinions. I really enjoyed the experience.
