The teacher will give corresponding comments on students’ answers and show the topic of this lesson.Justification: The pictures about great people we have learned can activate students’ original background knowledge. The questions can arouse students’ interest and lead in today’s topic naturally.Step 2 pre-reading (3mins)Students are asked to read the title together and then encouraged to share what they want to know from the passage, based on the title and picture.(Justification: to arouse students’ curiosity about the passage as well as train their ability of prediction.)Step 3 while-reading (20mins)Activity 1 fast readingStudents are asked to read the passage quickly to find the topic sentence of each paragraph, especially paying attention to the transitional words.
