三、阅读理解
Recently, Xie Zhaoyutong, a middle school student, has gained lots of attention online. The boy turned his bedroom into a “private museum”. People praise him for his knowledge of history and smart way of speaking, saying he is like a professor.
Named the “Yu Tang Museum”, his bedroom, just over ten square metres, is filled with old books, copper coins, and porcelain (瓷器). He spent almost all of his lucky money and pocket money buying these items.
He said that at first, he loved the items for their appearances, but as he learned more about history, he realized that each item carries a special culture.
The only free space in the room is his bed. “This bed is for my body, while everything else is for my spirit,” he said. For him, arranging (布置) his room this way has another advantage: it reminds him to use his phone less.
Xie Zhaoyutong’s interest in reading began around the age of three or four, and a visit to a museum with his mother at six made him fall in love with cultural relics (文物) and history.
The boy believes learning history well helps with school subjects like Chinese and makes his life more interesting. He doesn’t care about material comforts—he even wears old socks with holes! But he loves filling his mind with knowledge. “Having fewer things means more space for thinking,” he says. “Life without learning is boring.”
To Xie, reading an ancient book lets him understand what people thought thousands of years ago; touching a Han Dynasty brick allows him to imagine the lives of people who lived then. This kind of joy, he believes, is much better than fleeting online fun.

These days, talking on the phone isn’t as common as it used to be, because many people like to use messaging apps like WeChat. However, sometimes you have to make a call. For some people, this can be really scary. They might feel their hearts racing just at the thought of making a call. If this sounds like you, you might have telephobia—a fear of talking on the phone.
Telephobia is a kind of social anxiety (社交焦虑). Even people who feel comfortable talking to others in person can get nervous on the phone. When we talk face to face, we can see each other’s faces and body language. This can help us perceive what they mean. But on the phone, we can’t see those things and as a result, we can feel nervous and forget what to say or sound silly.
There are ways to help make phone calls easier if you have telephobia. The first is to smile before making a call. It may sound funny, but smiling can help you feel more relaxed. Another one is to think about how the call will go. Think about what you want to say and plan a little bit. You can even write down some important points. Finally, if you get a call and don’t feel ready to answer, that’s OK! You can call the person back later when you feel more comfortable.
So remember, talking on the phone doesn’t need to be scary. With patience (耐心) and a little preparation, you can make phone calls easily!

Hao Xu keeping a dog I am happy to look after it.
Chen Yu playing ping-pong It makes me feel energetic.
Li Wei making scarves It gives me a sense of achievement.

Our Opinion
Try to have a balance. Tech hobbies are fun and relaxing, but such hobbies usually need a lot of screen time. That could cause problems like eye strain or feeling lonely. You could add a physical activity to keep healthy, or a creative hobby to express yourself. Try something new like cooking or collecting. A mix of different hobbies will help you become a better person.
After all, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Making time for hobbies is just as important as working hard.
