The Spring Festival Gala 2026 has been over for months, but the four mascots it introduced impressed us a lot. Let’s welcome Qiqi, Jiji, Chichi, and Chengcheng! These four horses are cute and full of energy. Their designs mix ancient history with modern art. Let’s meet them one by one.
Qiqi’s design is based on (基于) the famous Bronze Colt-shaped Zun of Lord Li (蠡驹尊) from the Western Zhou Dynasty. It has a dark color and wears a high hair bun. Qiqi looks calm, polite, and full of big dreams.
Jiji takes its design from the Han Dynasty. Its body looks like the famous Bronze Galloping Horse (铜奔马). Look at its wings! They spread wide for the horse to fly high. The design of the wings comes from an ancient bronze umbrella handle (把手). How brave and confident Jiji looks!
Chichi shows the style of the Tang Dynasty. It is a Three-maned Horse. Its mane (鬃毛) is shaped into three bunches. This style was for the highest-ranking horses long ago. Chichi looks brave and strong.
Chengcheng is a Przewalski’s horse (普氏野马) — the only wild horse species alive today! China now has the world’s largest number of them. This is a great achievement in wildlife protection. Chengcheng looks strong and fit, showing the good relationship between humans and the earth.

This has made millions of people interested in it. On TikTok, there are 1.4 million posts about Labubu. People like to make videos of unboxing Labubu and sharing the figures (形象) they get. These blind boxes have surprise secret ones inside, making shopping fun and exciting.
Pop Mart is also helping Labubu become popular in different countries. They have opened stores in famous places and made Labubu look different for each culture. For example, in Thailand, Labubu wears silk costumes for festivals. In Spain, it has bullfighting figures (斗牛造型). This turns Labubu into a cultural bridge.

Zhang Xue is a brave Chinese motorcycle (摩托车) maker, whose story has encouraged many young people to fight for their dreams. He successfully built his own motorcycle brand ZXMOTO and made Chinese motorcycles shine on the world’s top racing stage.
Born in a poor mountain village in Huaihua, Hunan Province in 1987, Zhang showed great love for motorcycles when he was very young. At the age of 14, he had to leave school and work as a motorcycle repairman to support his family. Every day, he worked with dirty engine (发动机) oil and broken motorcycle parts, but he never gave up his dream of making great Chinese racing motorcycles.
When he was 19, he did something that surprised everyone. He rode a used motorcycle for over 100 kilometers in heavy rain, on rough and muddy (崎岖泥泞) roads, just to meet a media (媒体) team. When the reporter asked him why he stuck to appearing on TV, he said “It is not important to be on TV. What matters most is that professional racing teams notice me and give me a chance to join them.” Deeply moved by his willing heart, the media team recorded his story and put it on TV. Although many people laughed at his small dream at that time, he kept working hard and never lost hope.
Later, Zhang came to Chongqing, a famous city for motorcycle making in China. With little money and strong will, he started his business again. In 2024, he set up his own brand ZXMOTO. He was much faster than other players, making ZXMOTO the first Chinese motorcycle brand to win such a top world competition. It broke the long-term control of foreign big brands in the field.

In ancient China, spring was a season of hope and celebration. As early as the Western Zhou Dynasty, kings held ceremonies to welcome spring—the earliest national “spring launch (启动) event”. By the Spring and Autumn Period, spring outings had become a popular activity. Even Confucius is said to have enjoyed them.
During the Wei and Jin dynasties, poets saw outings as a way to cultivate character (修身养性) and express creativity. They created poems and enjoyed nature, much like modern “travel bloggers (博主)”. Wang Xizhi, for example, wrote his famous Lantingji Xu during a spring outing. The “Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove (竹林七贤)” also loved gathering in nature to chat and relax.
The Tang Dynasty turned spring outings into grand carnivals (嘉年华). People enjoyed holidays during festivals like Qingming, and the king would hold big dinners for officers. The “Qujiang Feast” was a famous dinner for those who passed the imperial exams (科举考试). People picnicked, sang, and danced by the river. Women also joined in activities like horseback riding.
In the Song Dynasty, spring outings often connected tomb sweeping (扫墓) with outdoor fun. People enjoyed sports like cuju, a traditional ball game. By the Ming and Qing dynasties, activities like willow-shooting (射柳), swinging, and kite-flying became popular.
Today, spring outings remain a beloved tradition. While forms have changed, the joy of embracing nature and celebrating life stays the same.
