One morning, Li Ming walked into a small café near his school. He noticed an old man sitting
by the window, 41 a cup of coffee quietly. The café was 42 but warm, with soft music
playing in the background. Li Ming sat down next to him and saw the old man 43 a book with
many handwritten notes on the pages. It looked like the book was very important to him. Li Ming
asked politely, “ 44 kind of book is that ” The old man closed the book and said, “It’s my diary. I’
ve kept it for over 40 years and it’s my most precious 45 .” “Why do you write it every day ” Li
Ming wondered. The old man 46 and replied, “I write down the small happy things in life. It
makes me feel grateful every day.” This short talk gave Li Ming a great 47 . He learned that 48
you slow down and notice life’s small moments, you will find more joy around you. Now, how
does Li Ming live his daily life In a 49 with his classmates, he said, “I always 50 a few
minutes every morning writing down one thing I’m thankful for. It can be a kind word from a

Do you know that about one third of the food we produce in the world is wasted every year
To solve this problem, a team of students from a university in the UK designed a smart food box. It
can keep food fresh for a longer time and remind people to eat food before it goes bad.
The smart box is made of special materials that can keep the inside temperature low. It also
has a small screen and a sensor (传感器 ). The sensor can check the food’s freshness and send
information to the screen. If the food is going to go bad, the screen will light up and play a small
sound to remind users. What’s more, the box can connect to people’s phones through an app. Users
can check the food’s condition anywhere and anytime.
The students tested the box for three months with different kinds of food, like vegetables, fruit
and bread. They found that the smart box could keep food fresh at least five days longer than a
common box. “We hope this box can help people cut down on food waste. It’s not just good for our
pockets, but also for the environment,” said Tom, one of the design students.
Food waste is a big problem around the world. It not only wastes money, but also causes

The 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala (SF Gala), the most expected cultural show for Chinese
Lunar New Year, is ready to welcome the Year of the Horse on Chinese New Year’s Eve. With the
warm theme "Warm Gatherings, Bright Journeys", this year’s gala keeps the classic forms like
cross-talk, skits and folk dances, while adding more creative programs to meet the tastes of

This year’s gala has a main stage in Beijing’s CCTV Headquarters, and four branch stages in
