Is February a Good Time to Visit Disney World
Yes! February can be one of the best times to visit Disney World, if you time it right.
Like January, February brings cooler weather, lower humidity, and fewer rain showers — which makes walking around the parks so much more pleasant. But not all weeks in February are created equal. The first half of the month is fantastic, while the second half Not so much.
Here’s what you need to know:
Why We Love February at Disney World
● Perfect Weather — Still cool, but less extreme cold swings than January.
● Low Crowds Early in the Month — Before Presidents’ Day and Mardi Gras hit.
● Festival of the Arts — One of Epcot’s best festivals is still running for part of February.
●·Better Park Hours — Parks start staying open a little later than in January.
Things to Keep in Mind
● Mid-to-Late February Gets Busy — Presidents’ Day, Mardi Gras, and race weekend all bring big crowds.
● Refurbishments Still Happen — Some rides that close in January may still be down in early February.
● Prices Spike for Holiday Weekends — If you’re looking for cheaper hotels &tickets, avoid mid-February.
February crowds are a rollercoaster — the month starts with some of the lowest crowd levels of the year, but by mid-February, holiday and race weekend visitors flood the parks.

A Spanish artist who creates detailed designs on fallen leaves says the process breathes new life into the leaves while also improving his own well-being. The artist, known professionally as Lorenzo Duran, lives in a small mountain village near vila.
Duran specializes in carving a wide variety of designs into leaves. His portfolio (作品集) includes a frog holding an umbrella, leaping animals, the Mediterranean coastline, and rolling ocean waves. He began his leaf art practice in 2020, inspired by an idea that came to him while walking through a forest near his home.
The 38-year-old explains that his work brings him a sense of peace and helps him manage a long-standing anxiety condition. Beyond these personal benefits, he hopes his art can bring joy to others as well.
To show how the art is done, he first treats several leaves with a chemical to keep them from drying out. Then, he chooses the one he wants to work on and places it on a cutting surface. He begins by making a design on the leaf with a pen. He then uses a special design knife to cut the leaf. As he works slowly and carefully, one leaf begins to take the shape of a frog carrying an umbrella.
Duran’s unique craft (手艺) has gained international attention, drawing over a hundred thousand followers on social media and he has published books on his leaf-cutting work. And almost every month, he holds an exhibition (展览) of his work in village squares across central Spain. “If I can make people happy by doing what I am doing, I want to do more. That’s my driving force for what’s next,” says Duran.
4. Where does Duran create his art
A. On fallen leaves. B. On the paper.
C. On ocean waves. D. On an umbrella.
5. How does Duran’s work affect him
A. He earned a lot. B. He tours abroad.
C. He became famous in 2020. D. He stays healthy.
6. What is paragraph 4 mainly about
A. The variety of Duran’s designs. B. The process of creating the art.

A. He plans to stop cutting leaves next year.
B. He earns his living mainly by selling books.
C. His leaf art has won worldwide popularity.
D. He holds a show in big cities worldwide monthly.

Listening to music is considered a good thing for adults. Indeed it is. Scientific studies have proved it. Music has so many good effects on our body, mind and mood that this world will certainly not be a good place without music. Then, is music good for children Some parents think so and let their children learn or listen to music. But some parents don’t know the importance of music to children. Here are some reasons why music is important to children.
First, music is good for children’s intelligence. Studies have proved that children who learn music are likely to have higher intelligence than those who have no interest in or dislike music. This is because the brain gets stimulated (刺激) by the rhythm and tone of music.
Music also has soothing (抚慰) effect on children and helps remove their stress. Today’s children are under a lot of stress from school work. Being under too much stress impairs children’s health. Luckily, listening to music can help them feel better.
Music can improve children’s moods. Some children are sad by nature. They seem to be lost in their own thoughts and don’t take interest in their surroundings. In such cases, a method known as “music therapy” comes to their rescue. It changes their moods and places a new kind of spirit in them.
Music is also a universal language that children ought to learn. Our world has become a global village. People are getting more and more interested in other cultures and countries. Music can help them in understanding foreign cultures.
Now we can say that music is very important not only to adults but also to children. So children should be encouraged to learn music or listen to music.
8. Why can music improve children’s intelligence according to the text
A. Because music makes children more interested in study.
B. Because music can make children relaxed.
C. Because the rhythm and tone of music stimulate the brain.
D. Because music helps children understand foreign cultures.
9. What problem are today’s children facing according to Paragraph 3
A. Poor health. B. Heavy study stress.
C. Sadness by nature. D. Lack of interest in surroundings.
10. What is the author’s purpose in writing the text
A. To introduce different kinds of music for children.
B. To explain why music is important to children.
C. To show how to teach children to learn music.
D. To prove music is more important to children than adults.

The act of making and being a friend is as simple as it is difficult. Here are a few tips to help you make new friends as well as to take better care of the friendships you already have.
Accept the awkwardness. It’s a little bit awkward to reach out to someone you don’t know well — whether that’s sending the first text messages or starting small talk in the elevator. ____11____ Otherwise you can’t make any new friends.
___12___ Actually this advice is based on a well-known theory and some field research. Gallian Sandstorm, a senior lecturer in psychology at the university of Essex in the UK, has done research on something called the “liking gap”, which says that the little voice in your head telling you that somebody doesn’t like you very much is wrong. ____13____ Instead, remember that when you talk to someone else, you are actually brightening their day.
Invest in activities that you love. Ask anyone about how to make friends and they will most likely tell you to try a new hobby. It might sound empty, but it works. ____14____ Then people will be drawn to you because you will be in the right place.
Be present. The planet is warming, and there is so much good television out there to watch. We get it. But if you want to keep your friendships, you have to show up for them. ____15____
A. So don’t listen to it.
B. But you have to accept it.
C. Do the things you are crazy about.
D. You don’t have to be interested in just one thing.
