A New Type of Robot
This is Science Today. Welcome to our show. We have Professor Jiang with us today to talk about a new type of robot.
Host: Thanks for coming, Professor.
Professor: Thank you.
Host: Professor, can you tell us something about this new robot What kinds of things can it do
Professor: The robot is called a service robot. It is designed to help older people live safely at home when there's nobody around.
Host: Interesting. How does it work
Professor: Older people, for example, can't always do housework easily. They might need help from robots. The robot can also help with medical care.
Host: Can you explain that a bit more
Professor: It has sensors that can monitor important health signs, call for help if the user falls, remind them to take medicine, and suggest exercises.

Professor: It can also reduce medical costs, which will help our whole society.
Host: Exactly. Older people will also have a much better quality of life thanks to the service robot.
Host: Wonderful! So is this service robot available now
Professor: It's still under development, but we hope to show it to the world in the next few years.
