The Chinese government has started a national plan to help people manage their weight and live healthier lives. Experts say that obesity (肥胖) is becoming a big health problem. This plan encourages better eating, regular exercise, and weight control.
Why is obesity a problem
Being overweight is not just about appearance. It can cause serious health problems like blood pressure, diabetes (糖尿病), heart disease, and even cancer. If nothing changes, studies show that by 2030, 70.5% of adults (成年人) and 31.8% of children could be overweight or obese. If people do not act now, they may face serious health problems at a younger age.
What is healthy weight
Doctors use Body Mass Index (BMI) to check if someone’s weight is healthy. For adults, a healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24. If your BMI is from 24 to 28, you’re overweight. A BMI of 28 or higher means you’re obese. Also, doctors suggest measuring your waist (腰围): men should keep it under 90 cm and women under 85 cm.
To stay healthy, people should eat a balanced diet. They can choose whole grains like brown rice (糙米), fresh vegetables and lean proteins (低脂蛋白质). They should stay away from fried foods, sugary snacks, and fatty meals. Exercise is also important. Experts suggest at least 150 minutes of moderate (适度的) exercise per week, like running, cycling or swimming. Getting enough sleep is also important.
How can society help
Schools and medical institutions (医疗机构) are also helping. For example, schools in Shanghai make sure students exercise for at least two hours every day. Hospitals in Shanghai have weight control programs. These programs give expert advice on diet, exercise and weight loss. By 2030, China hopes to slow down the increase (增加) of obesity through education and support.
China’s health plan encourages everyone, especially young people, to build good habits. Staying active and eating well today will lead to a stronger, healthier future.
54.Why does the Chinese government introduce this national plan
A. To make people look better.
B. To help people sleep well.
C. To encourage people to eat healthier.
D. To help people manage weight and live healthier.
55.What do you know about the man if his waist measurement is 94 cm
A. He is healthy.
B. He needs to lose some weight.
C. He has a perfect body shape.
D. He should sleep for 7 hours every night.
56.How long should we at least exercise every week
A. For 30 minutes. B. For 60 minutes.
C. For 100 minutes. D. For 150 minutes.
57.Which of the following is the best title for the passage
A. How to Check Your BMI

①Scientists have found that plants can make sounds.
②A scientist Lily Hadany and her team recorded (录制) tomato plants at different times. It showed that the plants made ultrasonic (超声波) sounds. People could only hear them with the help of a computer. They were noises like clicking sounds.
③As the scientists studied the sounds, they began to find some interesting facts. Plants made different sounds at different times. They seldom clicked (发出咔嗒声) when they had enough water, but when they needed water, they clicked more and more. Scientists also found that plants made sounds when they got hurt. When scientists cut off a leaf from the plants, the plants also clicked more. But the clicking wasn’t the same as when the plants needed water.
④Some scientists designed a computer AI system to tell the different kinds of clicking sounds. It was able to find the difference between plants that needed water and plants with cuts. It means that one day we may be able to use these sounds to find out when it is in a difficult time, and what problem it is having. That could be very helpful to farmers.
⑤The team’s findings change our ideas about plants. As Dr. Hadany says, “Even in a quiet field, there are sounds made by plants, and those sounds carry information and may help us a lot.”
58.How does the writer show the interesting facts in Paragraph 3
A. By giving examples. B. By telling stories.
C. By asking questions. D. By using numbers.
59.What can people do with the help of the team’s findings
A. Stop people from cutting down trees.
B. Know how to tell different sounds faster.
C. Help farmers to know more about their plants.
D. Hear more beautiful sounds from different plants.
60.What is the structure (结构) of the passage?
A. ① / ②③④ / ⑤ B. ①②③④ / ⑤
C. ① / ② / ③ / ④⑤ D. ① / ②③④⑤
六、任务型阅读-简答:本大题共1小题,共8分。
61.I put down Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But I kept going over the exciting story in my mind. The book was full of magic. But Charlie's happy family was the most magical part of the story.
Charlie's home was a small house at the side of a big town. His family was very poor. His four grandparents stayed in the only bed in the house. The family never had enough food. They always ate watery cabbage (卷心菜) soup for dinner. In winter, the icy wind swept (扫) across the floor all night long.
To my surprise, the family were happy together. In the evenings, Charlie sat with his grandparents in bed and listened to their stories. Charlie's parents often joined in. Every night, the room became a happy place. The whole family forgot about their hungry and poor life.
This touched me greatly. In some people’s minds, happiness comes from things like money. But love, in fact, is the key to happiness. Oscar Wilde once said, “Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden...” There are so many reasons to be happy. I think love is the most important one. It can move us, change us and give us a life full of happiness.
