On a Tuesday morning in Beijing’s Olympic Forest Park, 16 blind runners each tied a short rope to a sighted (视力正常的) guide. Together, they set out to run a half-marathon (半程马拉松). This was the start of a six-day challenge called “Chasing the Light 666”. The event was organized by Tang Min. “They cannot see the world, but we want the world to see them,” he said.
In most races, blind runners are often lost in the crowd. This time, Tang wanted them to be the stars. The runners chosen for the event were very strong. Each had completed at least three full marathons in the past two years and run over 1,000 kilometers yearly.
For Shang Lei, running changed his life completely. Before running, most of his friends were also blind. But marathon events introduced him to people from all walks of life. “The race gives me the joy of sports and the experience of being treated equally (平等地),” he said.
Tang Min hopes more blind people will take up running. He believes the biggest problem is not physical ability but a shortage of chances. “Every blind person can run,” he said. “And every blind person should run.”
Shang Lei’s final message to others is simple: “Don’t hold yourself back just because you cannot see. As long as there is light in your heart, there will always be a road under your feet.”
19. What can we know about the chosen blind runners
A.They all have sighted family members.
B.They train with Olympic players daily.

Raccoons (浣熊) are one of the smartest wild animals living in modern cities. They are good at dealing with problems. Raccoons often surprise people with a clever trick. A waste box cover opens, and the food inside disappears. Many think raccoons just search for food anywhere. But new research suggests that raccoons may solve problems simply because they are curious.
Scientists designed a test to study raccoon thinking. They built a special puzzle box (谜题箱) with nine different ways to open it. Some ways were easy, some were medium, and some were hard. Sixteen raccoons took the test. Each box had only one food prize.
The results were surprising. Many raccoons kept opening new parts of the puzzle box even after eating the food. They kept problem-solving even when there was no food at the end. This shows that curiosity, not just hunger, pushed them to explore. The study also found that raccoons change their behavior based on difficulty. When puzzles were easy, they tried many different ways. When puzzles became harder, they chose a method that worked before instead of trying something new. “It’s like ordering at a restaurant,” the researcher explained. “Do you order your favorite dish or try something new If the risk is high, you choose the safe one.”
These thinking skills help raccoons do well in cities. However, this also causes problems. It leads to a continuous competition between humans and raccoons. Humans build safer containers (容器), while raccoons keep learning new ways to break them.
22. What does the underlined part “a clever trick” in Paragraph 1 refer to
23. What is special about the puzzle box
A.It was made of soft materials.
B.It had only one way to open it.
C.It had different levels of difficulty.
D.It was too difficult for any raccoon to open.
24. The restaurant example in the passage helps explain ________.
A.why humans also like to order favorite dishes
B.how raccoons decide whether to take a risk
C.how scientists feed raccoons in tests
D.why raccoons like sweet food
25. What can be inferred from the competition between people and raccoons
A.Raccoons keep improving their abilities.
B.People will give up protecting food boxes.
C.Raccoons can no longer find enough food.
D.The competition only happens in very big cities.

Living in China has really made me realize how convenient life can be. It is much better than I ever thought. 26
The moment I came to this country, a wave of pleasant surprise washed over me. The public travel system (系统) is great. The underground networks cover almost every part of big cities. 27 High-speed trains are another example of China’s wonderful transport system.
Another great thing that stands out in China is the availability (可用性) of services. If my bike is broken and needs a repairman, I just need to make a phone call or tap on my smartphone. Since everything is available online, I no longer have to go far to the supermarket. 28 It is one of the key reasons I have stayed in China for so long.
29 For example, the apps that I use for travelling are easy to use. Everything, including payment methods, is simple and direct. This makes it easy for everyone to get things done without difficulties. Even my 70-year-old grandma can use the apps to pay for things when she visits me.
The convenience in China has helped me get more things done. 30 I think that with technological progress and the development of basic services, life in China will become more convenient in the future.
A.It is difficult for foreigners to learn Chinese well.
B.People can get to where they want to go much faster.
C.I never expected life could be so easy before I came here.
D.What’s more, China’s convenience lies in their user-friendliness.
E.Even late at night, I can get food sent to my door in just 30 minutes.
F.I can save a lot of time on daily tasks and use it to do more meaningful things.

Lu Xun was one of China’s greatest writers of the 20th century. He was known and respected for his thoughtful writing. However, to his son, Zhou Haiying, he was simply a gentle father. When Haiying was little, the family lived in Shanghai. In summer, the heat and wet weather caused Haiying to get a rash (皮疹). Every evening after dinner, the boy ran to his father’s room and lay on the bed. Lu Xun then came in with some lotion (乳液). With a soft cloth, he gently applied the lotion to Haiying’s body. The boy’s body cooled, but his heart got warm for his caring father.
