Recently, the US social media (社交媒体) star. IShowSpeed, has become super popular in China.
Born in 2005, IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., became famous for live streaming (直播) sports games and his travels across Europe and Asia. He has 37 million followers on YouTube. Chinese fans call him “Jia Kang Ge” (甲亢哥) because of his excited feelings and big body language.

On May 22, 2025, Chinese astronauts on Shenzhou-20 had a very important job in space. They went outside the space station to work, and it was a big success!
The astronauts set up a special shield (防护) to protect the space station from space rubbish. Space rubbish is made of old parts from rockets and satellites. These small pieces can move very fast and might hit the space station. The new shield will keep the station safe. The astronauts also checked all the equipment (设备) outside to make sure everything worked well.
This spacewalk was special in two ways. First, it was the first time astronauts went out through the node module (节点舱) of the Tianhe Core Module (核心舱). Think of the node module as the “front door” of the space station, giving astronauts a new way to get outside. Second, this was the first time astronauts walked outside and moved cargo (货物) at the same time. Usually, they do these jobs separately. And this time they could do them together; it saved time and made the work more efficient.
Astronauts need to wear heavy spacesuits to stay safe in space. Space has no air and very extreme (极端的) temperatures. They trained hard for a long time to learn how to do these difficult tasks.
This spacewalk is part of building China’s Tiangong Space Station. Each time astronauts work in space, they learn more. These experiences help China plan for longer stays in space and even more exciting space trips in the future.

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday. It is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month (usually in June). It honors (纪念) Qu Yuan, a famous poet and loyal minister (忠诚的大臣), who lived over 2,000 years ago. When his kingdom was invaded, Qu Yuan drowned (淹死) himself in a river. People raced their boats to save him and threw zongzi (sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves) into the water to feed fish, hoping they wouldn’t eat his body.
Today, the festival is famous for two activities: eating zongzi and dragon boat racing. Zongzi are filled with sweet beans, meat, or egg yolk. Dragon boats are long, colorful boats decorated with dragon heads. Teams race to the beat of drums. People believe it can scare (惊吓) away evil spirits (妖怪). Families also hang special herbs on doors for protection and wear perfumed pouches to stay healthy.
