【听力原文】
Good morning, everyone. Today let's talk about two main kinds of memory: short-term memory and long-term memory. Let me tell you how they work for us.
Short-term memory can hold only about seven pieces of information at one time. It usually keeps information for about 30 seconds. For example, when you hear a new telephone number, you can remember it for a short time just to write it down. After that, it may either be forgotten or go into your long-term memory.
Long-term memory can store information for your whole life. It keeps all the important things that you have experienced, like your first day at school, the sweet time with your family or a wonderful trip you took years ago. If you want to move new knowledge from short-term memory to long-term memory, the best way is to review it often. The more you review, the more likely you will remember it forever.
Finally, remember that a healthy body helps keep your brain active. Doing enough exercise every day can boost both your memory and your mind.九年级上册上英语Unit 4 Our Memory听力测试
