Hello, everyone. Today I'd like to talk about one of the most important modern inventions — the airplane. The first practical airplane was invented by the Wright brothers from America. It was invented and successfully tested in 1903. At that time, the whole plane was made of common wood and light cloth. It was much simpler than the modern planes we see today.
In the early days, airplanes were not widely used for public transport. But now, large modern planes are produced every year, and they are used for carrying people and goods all over the world. It turns long and dangerous sea journeys into short, comfortable trips. Trips that once took several months by ship can now be finished in just a few hours by plane.
