以动词be和work为例,一般过去时的肯定式、否定式,疑问句和简略答语构成如下

[规则探究]
  一般现在时用于描述 1.  经常发生 的动作或存在的状态。一般现在时常以2.  动词原形  表示,但当主语是第三人称单数时,动词词尾加3.  s或es 。一般现在时常与always、 usually、 often、 sometimes、 seldom、 every day、 once a week等表示频度的状语连用。在进行句式转换时,如果实义动词作谓语,则疑问句需用助动词4.  do或does ;否定句用don’t或doesn’t。
一般过去时表示发生在5.  过去 的动作或存在的状态,通常与表示6.  过去 的时间状语yesterday、 last night、 some years ago、 in 1990、 in those days等连用。在进行句式转换时,如果实义动词作谓语,则疑问句需用助动词7.  did ;否定句用didn’t。
