Three students are interviewed by the school newspaper about “What do you want to be in the future ” Here is what they say.
I’m not sure what I’m going to do. I used to think about getting a job as a police officer, but I don’t think I’m brave enough. I enjoy playing football, but I’m not good enough to be a full-time player. So, I want two part-time jobs. I’d like to be a football coach. I also want to be an artist because I love painting. This would let me turn my hobbies into jobs!
I know exactly what I’m going to do. I have always loved cooking so I’m going to be a cook. I’ll go to college for about two years where I’ll learn all about cooking. Then I’ll work in a kitchen until I can become a real cook. I’m going to buy a restaurant and have lots of staff to help me! If I’m lucky, I will even have a TV show.
I love animals more than anything. I’ve wanted to be a vet since I was ten. To be a vet, you have to study for about seven years, and you have to be very clever and get good marks for all your exams. You must have work experience with animals, too. My only worry is that seeing so many sick animals will make me sad.

Today, most of us like to read reviews before we buy things online. People write these reviews to share their experiences. But we must be careful. A new study shows that it is hard for us to find fake reviews Fake reviews are not written by real buyers. They try to trick people into making bad choices.
Researchers did a study to understand this problem better. They showed 1,600 different reviews for hotels to 400 people. Some of these reviews were real, and some were written to be fake. The study found three clear points. First, people often trust negative reviews more than positive ones. They believe a bad review is more honest. Second, a long negative review with many details (细节) seems very believable. But a long positive review can make people feel doubtful. Third, the feeling in the review is important. A review that sounds too exciting is less trusted than a calm one.
Now, the problem of fake reviews is growing. Today, it is easier to make them. Some people even use AI to write fake reviews. AI can make the text sound very natural, like a real person wrote it. This makes it much harder for us to know what is panies are using computer programs to fight this, but it is a difficult job. Since we are not good at finding fakes ourselves, the problem is getting worse.
So, how can we be smart shoppers We should not believe every review we read. It is a good idea to check the writer’s history. Have they written other reviews Also, read both good and bad reviews. If a product has only perfect reviews, be careful. Learning about fake reviews and taking a little more time to think can help us make better choices.
In short, we all need to be careful about the reviews we read online. Fake information is everywhere. Remember, if a review seems too good to be true, it probably is. Use your own mind, and you will become a wiser shopper.
19.Which three types of reviews do people trust
① Reviews that are very short. ② Reviews with many details.
③ Reviews that are negative. ④ Reviews with strong feelings.
⑤ Reviews that are calm.
A.①②③ B.②③⑤ C.②③④ D.③④⑤

21.Which is the best title for this text
A.How AI Helps Customers B.Why People Like Shopping

B.Story → Study Results → New Examples → Advice → Summary (总结).

I’ve always believed in sports, but I simply didn’t get along. I just hated sports. In school, I was known to be often secretly “sick” on sports day. My mom was my partner, writing notes (假条) about my “bad foot” to get me out of PE.
Then came the invitation. A close friend asked me to his birthday football game. “Absolutely not,” a voice shouted from the bottom of my heart. But it was his birthday. So, with a heavy heart, I went — fully planning to stand safely at the side and just watch.
But something unexpected happened the moment I stepped onto the grass. I found myself following the ball. I even kicked it once, passing to a teammate, and we both started laughing. When someone scored, I cheered without thinking. I was… having fun.
When my mother heard about it, she was surprised. “Football Really ” she asked, remembering all her old notes. “In fact, it was pretty good,” I said.
Now, every Sunday finds me in the football field with friends. Why do I keep going back It’s more than exercise or friendship. It’s the simple joy of doing something just because it’s fun.
The best part My mom, who used to be my note-writer, saw me putting on my football shoes one day and said, “Well, if you can try something new, maybe I can too.” Soon after, she joined a local walking group!
Looking back, I never imagined kicking a ball could change something. But it did. It taught me that joy often waits on the other side of “I can’t”. Why not give something you hate a chance, too

It was a cold November in Greenwich Village. Many people there were very sick with pneumonia (肺炎) , which spread through the neighborhood, leaving weakness and fear in its wake. Sue and Johnsy lived in a small and old house. Johnsy was badly ill and lying in bed, weak and silent. She looked out at the top of the window all day, watching an old ivy vine (常春藤) climbing up the wall of the neighboring house.
“When the last leaf falls, I shall die,” Johnsy said quietly. Sue cheered her up, telling her that the leaves had little to do with her life, but Johnsy didn’t listen. Her eyes were filled with sadness.
Downstairs lived an old painter named Behrman. He was over sixty years old, with hands that had held a paintbrush for forty years, yet he had never finished a great picture. He often drank too much and talked loudly, saying something about the unfairness of the art world, but he cared for the two young artists deeply. When Sue told Behrman about Johnsy’s words, he felt angry and sad. “How silly! No one should die because of falling leaves!” he shouted. That night, there was a heavy rain and a strong wind that shook the old house heavily.
The next morning, Johnsy asked Sue to open the window. To her surprise, one green leaf still hung on the vine, bright and strong against the grey sky. It didn’t fall, even when the wind blew again and again. Johnsy stared at it for a long time, and a little hope came back to her heart.
What Johnsy didn’t know was that in the middle of that terrible storm, Behrman had climbed up in the pouring rain, painted that single green leaf on the wall, to give Johnsy the hope she needed to live. He caught a bad cold that night, and died a few days later— but his work, the last leaf, saved a young girl’s life, a quiet act of love that lasted through every storm.
(Excerpted from The last leaf by O. Henry)

Help Save Sea Lions!
What Are Sea Lions
Sea lions are wonderful animals that live in the ocean. They are mammals (哺乳动物), not fish! This means they are warm-blooded, have hair, and their mothers feed them milk. They are very smart and excellent swimmers. They also need to come to land or rocks to rest, have babies, and spend time with their families.
Where Do They Live
These clever animals mostly live in cool ocean waters. You can find large noisy groups called colonies (生物聚居群) along the coasts of North and South America. Then they come out to be on rocky shores or quiet beaches.
They Are in Trouble!
Sadly, life is getting very hard for sea lions. Pollution, like plastic bags and bottles, fills their home. Sometimes, they eat this trash or get caught in it, which can hurt them. Also, because the ocean is getting warmer (climate change), it is harder for them to find enough fish to eat. Many sea lions get sick or hungry.
How Can YOU Be a Hero
Your actions matter.
◆ Keep beaches and oceans clean. Always put your rubbish in the bin. If you see trash, pick it up safely.
◆ Learn and share. Tell your friends and family about these amazing animals and why they need our help.
◆ Choose wisely. Encourage your family to buy seafood caught in sea-lion-friendly ways.
Let’s work together. Our actions can make a safe home for sea lions!
A.They need to go up to breathe air.
B.Watching them is a wonderful experience.
C.People’s actions are causing big problems.
D.They love to swim and hunt for fish in the sea.
E.You can help protect these wonderful animals!

Good morning everyone. This is your radio host Mike with your daily news. Are you ready for some fun this weekend Our city running competition is happening this Sunday. It’s a great event for the whole family. The race will start at nine a.m. in front of the city hall. What makes our running special is that runners are encouraged to run with their pet dogs. It’s cool, right For most runners, the race is 10 kilometers long, going through the beautiful old city center. There is also a shorter five kilometer fun run for families with young children. After the race, there will be music and food in the park, so come and cheer for the runners or even join in yourself. And don’t forget to take lots of photos. It will be a fantastic day.

23.第一段中提到“I just hated sports.”以及“My mom was my partner, writing notes about my ‘bad foot’ to get me out of PE.”,这说明作者逃避体育课是因为他不喜欢运动。
26.倒数第二段中提到“The best part My mom... saw me putting on my football shoes... she joined a local walking group!”,这说明“最好的部分”是妈妈也尝试了新事物。

27.根据文章第一段“It was a cold November in Greenwich Village. Many people there were very sick with pneumonia...”
28.根据文章最后一段“Behrman had climbed up in the pouring rain, painted that single green leaf... He caught a bad cold that night, and died a few days later... saved a young girl’s life”可知,贝尔曼在暴雨中画了那片叶子,因此染病去世,但这幅画救了女孩的生命,这是他最有意义的作品。
结合上下文“a little hope came back to her heart"可知,描写叶子"bright and strong”是为了象征它在灰暗环境中带给琼西活下去的希望。

A项“They need to go up to breathe air.”
D项“They love to swim and hunt for fish in the sea.”

倒数第二段“It is indeed a shape.”
上文“The goal was to get it to fly as far as possible in the hallway.”
倒数第二段“...a paper ball is different.”
下文“...he took that piece of paper, made it into a ball, and threw it down the hallway.”
After all“毕竟”,As a result“因此”和Of course“当然”不符合语境。
下文“The paper ball...”
下文“We never expected things to happen like this.”
上文第三段“The paper ball rolled and bounced (弹跳) farther than any of our paper planes.”
第一句“I learned the importance of creative thinking...”
上文“In our life, what we are taught leads to our experience.”
此处与上文“what we are taught leads to our experience”对应,表示事物的两面性,“are taught”对应“learned”,我们所受的教导能给我们提供发展经验,但是学到的东西也可以成为发展的阻碍。
51.driest 52.millions 53.getting 54.through 55.ends up 56.Though

57.values 58.eighty 59.stopped 60.against 61.eaten 62.facing 63.himself 64.lifelong 65.bravely

故填was supported。
