Are your eyes tired, dry, or sore Many things can make our eyes uncomfortable, but a big reason is using our eyes too much.
One main cause of eye discomfort is not blinking(眨眼睛) enough. When we read or use a computer, we blink much less. This can make eyes dry and uncomfortable. Some people are more likely to have dry eyes, like people over 50, women, and those who wear contact lenses(隐形眼镜). Some medicines and health problems can make eyes uncomfortable. Other things like wind, air from fans, and smoke can dry our eyes too.
With age, our eyes have to work harder to see things. This is called presbyopia(老花眼)—— we can't focus on close things well. It often starts in our 40s, and many people need reading glasses.
Kids can have eye problems too. They might blink hard or rub their eyes instead of saying their eyes hurt.Too much screen time can make kids suffer from short sight.
To protect our eyes, try the 20-20-20 rule; every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.It's also good to spend more time outdoors. If these tips don't work, it's time to see a doctor for an eye exam.

China wants to help people get medicines easily for long-term illnesses and bring more health help to the elderly in their homes. On August 19th, 2025, the National Health Commission and five other government departments(政府部门) issued a new notice. Family doctors in China mainly come from three groups: doctors from local clinics(诊所), experienced village doctors, and retired(退休的) doctors from hospitals. Since 2016, China has been developing a system in which family doctors sign agreements with patients to provide basic and special medical services. This system reduces the number of people going to big hospitals, and it also offers better care to elderly people with long-term illnesses.
