第一节 阅读理解(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
While many cities can lay claim to being centers of musical creativity, only a few become truly synonymous (等同于……的) with a certain sound. Whether for pop or classical, folk or techno, travelers will find no shortage of cities to immerse themselves in Europe’s great soundtrack. Here are three of the best in which to plan a tuneful escape of your own.
· Pop in Stockholm
For decades, Stockholm has been a powerhouse of European pop and now, fans can dig into the city’s hit-making heritage at the Swedish Museum of Performing Arts, which explores the history and future of music, theater and dance. The Avicii Experience tells the story of the late, chart-topping DJ with a collection of unreleased music and virtual-reality karaoke, while the club Tr dg rden sees revelers (狂欢者) dance beneath Skanstullsbron bridge.
· Classical in Vienna
When it comes to live music, the Vienna State Opera ranks among the world’s most opulent music venues. Meanwhile, the Golden Hall at the Musikverein is the permanent home of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and also a renowned stage for other classical ensembles, such as the Vienna Mozart Orchestra. Mozart’s legacy lives on in performances at the Orangery at Sch nbrunn Palace, the space where he performed The Impresario in 1786 for the first time. The House of Strauss, meanwhile, is the world’s only remaining concert hall where all four Strausses performed.
· Jazz in Paris
When American troops were stationed in Paris during the First World War, they brought with them the improvised (即兴创作的) rhythms of jazz. In the years that followed, this sound took Paris’s music halls by storm and has become part of the city’s soundscape. The French capital is peppered with old-school jazz clubs, and few are as hallowed as Le Caveau de la Huchette, on the Left Bank. The building dates to the 16th century and has staged countless stars of swing in its time, including Sidney Bechet and Lionel Hampton.

Zhang Xue, founder of ZXMOTO, became famous after his motorcycles won two races at the Portuguese round of the Superbike World Championship (WSBK) on March 28 and 29, 2026. This victory broke the long-term control of European and Japanese brands like Ducati and Yamaha in the field.
His life started with great difficulty. Born in 1987 in a village in Hunan Province, Zhang had divorced parents. He left school at 14 to work in a motorcycle repair shop. In 2006, the 19-year-old mechanic rode 100 kilometers in the rain to ask for a chance to join a professional racing team. However, people laughed at him, and he even crashed his bike. Years later, he used the video of this experience for marketing, which made his hard struggle known to many people.
In 2013, Zhang moved to Chongqing, the center of China’s motorcycle industry, with his wife and only 20,000 yuan. He put together his first bike by himself, then joined a company called Kove Moto. Later, he left the company because he had different ideas with his partners about developing engines. In March 2024, he started his own company ZXMOTO. Early in 2025, the company almost closed down because he couldn’t pay his workers’ salaries, but he saved it by borrowing money from others.
The motorcycle that won the race, the 820RR-RS, is almost the same as the one sold to customers. It is much cheaper than similar products from other brands. Debise, a French rider who drove the bike to win the race, chose Zhang’s team because he was moved by Zhang’s passion. Zhang now hopes that Chinese motorcycle brands can take 50% to 70% of the global large-displacement motorcycle market in five years. He has also started programs to help young Chinese riders.
When asked about his 20-year hard journey, Zhang said he never thought of giving up. He advised young people to make their goals clear and work hard for them with all their hearts: “If you want it badly enough and you work hard enough, you can achieve it.”
4. How can we describe Zhang Xue’s early life
A.Well-educated
B.Poor and misunderstood
C.Hardworking and famous
D.Rich and highly-independent
5. Why did Zhang Xue leave Kove Moto
A.Unsatisfactory salary.
B.Conflicts with colleagues.
C.Differences in development ideas.
D.Uncertain company prospects.
6. What can we infer about the racing bike 820RR-RS
A.It is economical.
B.It is very expensive.
C.It is only used in races.
D.It is designed for foreigners.
7. What is the main idea of the passage
A.A French rider’s great success in world races.
B.The development of world motorcycle markets.
C.Competition between Chinese and foreign brands.
D.Zhang Xue’s hard life and hard-won achievements.

The dire wolf, a species extinct for 12,000 years, has recently grabbed the global spotlight. A bold announcement by U.S. biotech firm Colossal to “resurrect” this ancient predator via cutting-edge cloning and gene-editing technologies has sent ripples through global scientific and conservation circles, sparking fierce debates.
The company first analyzed 90% of the dire wolf genome from well-preserved Ice Age bones. Then, using the CRISPR gene-editing tool, it modified 20 key genes in gray wolf cells — since the two share 99.5% of their genetic material — to recreate an animal “functionally similar” to the extinct dire wolf. This ambitious endeavor has intensified academic disputes worldwide, with opposing views emerging sharply.
For their part, skeptics argue the product is just a modified gray wolf: millions of years of evolution have created huge genetic differences between the two, and a species is more than just its genes without natural living and evolutionary background. Colossal defends its “functional de-extinction” method, stressing the new animal would look and behave like the real dire wolf in key ways.
Beyond biological debates, related legal implications are critical. U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA) protects endangered species, but biologists lack a unified scientific definition of a species. Colossal’s functional concept conflicts with the ESA, which values species for aesthetic, ecological, and scientific purposes, not just functional similarity. Critics warn this may weaken conservation funding — why protect habitats if extinct species can be “recreated”
Yet biotechnology holds tangible conservation value: Colossal cloned a “ghost red wolf” from coyotes with red wolf DNA to restore genetic diversity to the critically endangered red wolf (only 12 wild individuals left). Yet the cloned hybrid may not qualify as a legal red wolf under the ESA, which excludes such animals, creating legal hurdles for its breeding programs.
Biotechnology can’t solve conservation issues like habitat destruction, nor reduce human responsibility for protecting biodiversity. But as the global biodiversity crisis worsens, it remains a valuable supplementary tool only when matched with sound legal frameworks and conservation goals.
8. What did Colossal do to recreate a dire wolf-like animal
A.Altered 99.5% of wolves’ genes.
B.Used CRISPR on gray wolf cells.
C.Edited cells from real dire wolves.
D.Analyzed 10% of the wolf genome.
9. Why do skeptics doubt Colossal’s method
A.It threatens natural evolution.
B.It goes against ecological balance.
C.It wastes huge conservation funds.
D.It produces a genetically changed wolf.
10. What legal problem is Colossal facing
A.ESA bans all cloned animals.
B.Clones are banned from research.
C.ESA ignores functional similarity.
D.Its species idea conflicts with ESA.
11. What is the author’s attitude to biotechnology
A.Opposed and resistant.
B.Unconcerned and doubtful.
C.Worried but supportive.
D.Disapproving and conservative.

A newly released report titled “Redshift” by the U.S. Commercial Space Federation has drawn wide attention to global space development, noting that China has been developing rapidly in space technology and may become a leading power in the field within 5-10 years. At a recent Senate hearing, former NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine warned that the U.S. may struggle to keep its leading position in lunar exploration unless NASA’s recent budget cuts are reversed.
The 112-page report details China’s decade-long rapid space development, with the Tiangong space station a pleted in 2023, Tiangong will become the world’s only major state-run space station when the International Space Station (ISS) is decommissioned this decade — as its aging infrastructure and excessive maintenance costs have made its retirement inevitable — thus filling the gap in global state-run space station systems.
China has also made remarkable progress in ground-based space facilities and lunar exploration plans. Boasting six fully operational spaceports, China is steadily advancing toward its goal of landing astronauts on the moon by 2030, a target set to outpace NASA’s originally scheduled 2027 timeline troubled by technical delays. By 2035, the nation has laid out ambitious plans to construct a nuclear-powered lunar base, develop Starlink-like satellite mega constellations and build an orbital solar power array, forming a comprehensive space development layout.
Notably, China is pushing forward multiple large-scale projects in parallel, as the report puts it. This striking progress stems from two core factors: a surge in commercial space investment from $164 million in 2016 to $2.86 billion last year, and the Space Silk Road initiative, which has built 80+ international cooperation projects.
In contrast, while the U.S. retains a leading edge in certain cutting-edge space technologies, its space ambitions are increasingly constrained by budget cuts. The report emphasizes China’s space rise, driven by disciplined policy and strategic investment, has reshaped global space development, creating a more balanced and dynamic landscape.
12. What can be inferred from Jim Bridenstine’s statement
A.NASA has increased its budget.
B.China has better lunar technology.
C.Budget issues affect NASA’s schedule.
D.The US will lose the space race soon.
13. What does the underlined word “decommissioned” probably mean
A.Put into use.
B.Stopped operating.
C.Completely rebuilt.
D.Technically upgraded.
14. What mainly supports China’s space progress
A.Funding and global partnerships.
B.It copies the US Apollo program.
C.It gets support from NASA’s budget.
D.It relies solely on advanced technologies.
15. What is the best title for the text
A.China’s rising space power.
B.A brand-new global space race.
C.NASA’s budget and challenges.
D.Tiangong: a new space milestone.

My senior year was flying by, and the annual school cultural fair was approaching. As an exchange student from China, I was both excited and nervous. This year, Ms. Chen, encouraged us to not just showcase cultures, but to truly share a piece of ourselves. After much thought, I decided to introduce something deeply personal and representative of my heritage: Chinese calligraphy.
I spent days preparing. I brought my favorite inkstone, a bundle of precious rice paper, and my grandfather’s brush-a family heirloom (传家宝) he had given to me before my journey, saying it “carried the spirit of our culture” and asking me to “share its story”. Setting up my booth, I arranged everything carefully, feeling a mix of pride and the heavy weight of responsibility.
Soon, the hall was buzzing with students and their families exploring various cultures. Many paused at my booth (摊位), curious about the elegant strokes I demonstrated. I explained the meaning behind different characters like he (和) and you (友), feeling a growing confidence as I shared my culture.
Then, a group of younger students gathered around, their eyes wide with wonder. One boy, especially eager, reached out to touch the brush. He was closely followed by his mother, who watched with a kind and encouraging smile. In a split second, the unthinkable happened. His elbow knocked over the small bottle of ink. Dark, thick liquid spread rapidly across the clean white paper I had just written on, making the characters into a messy black pool. The boy stepped back, his face pale with panic.
“I’m so sorry!” he stammered. His mother’s smile vanished, replaced by a look of concern as she stepped forward, a hand gently resting on her son’s shoulder. The chatter around us stopped. Everyone was staring at the ruined work and my grandfather’s brush, now stained with ink. My heart sank. That paper was my best piece, and the brush felt heavy with history in my hand.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。
Para. 1: I took a deep breath, looking at the boy’s anxious face.

读后续写 参考范文
Para. 1: I took a deep breath, looking at the boy’s anxious face. I smiled and told him not to worry. Accidents happen now and then. I fetched a clean cloth and gently cleaned the brush. Then I took out a new piece of rice paper and started writing again. Seeing this, the boy relaxed and watched me write attentively. The awkward atmosphere faded away soon.
Para. 2: As the fair neared its end, the boy returned to my booth, holding a carefully wrapped package. He handed it to me and apologized again. Inside was a delicate new writing brush. I thanked him warmly. This unexpected experience made our cultural sharing more meaningful. From then on, we became good friends and often talked about our cultures.
