There is a $2 reservation fee in addition to the park entrance fees. Reservations will be released four months in advance, on a rolling basis from 12th February. Some next-day tickets will also be available from 12th June, released at 7:00 pm each evening.

For anyone coming of age (成年) in the last 60 years, Lego has been a long-standing friend. The tiny plastic bricks that fit together have provided great pleasure for generations.
In 1932, Christiansen founded the construction toy company the Lego Group. By 1949, his company began producing tiny plastic building bricks that children seemed to love. Nine years later, the Lego bricks took shape. Lego also kept pace with technology. Through the 1980s, Lego sets began to include electric lights and sound-making equipment. But by 2003, Lego nearly went broke (破产) as the firm dealt with changing play habits. Kids were more interested in playing video games and surfing the Internet than playing with Lego bricks.
The company took quick action. Within 10 years, Lego achieved great success. It was mainly because of Lego’s Future Lab. The lab was made up of 50 or so researchers, scientists and designers. Their job was to invent new play experiences for children. To that end, the company joined hands with universities and others in the hope of finding out what kids wanted. And the effort finally paid off.
“From the youngest builders to adults, we have a Lego solution for every builder of any age, building skill and interest for any play occasion,” Amanda Madore, senior manager at Lego Systems Inc, said. “We focus on what the brand means to children—both physically and digitally—and we continue to serve their needs, so we believe our business potential is as limitless as our play material.”
Although Lego bricks have always been fun to play with, research has shown they can be central to a child’s education and cognitive acuity (认知敏锐度). Specifically, Lego bricks are an important tool that can help children with autism (自闭症). Research has found that children with autism become more social and communicative while playing with the bricks in group settings. Part of the reason is that Lego requires children to communicate, set rules, make decisions and work with others. In this sense, Lego bricks are hard to replace.
24. Why did the Lego Group face great challenges in the early 2000s
A.It failed to keep up with the times.
B.Its after-sale service was poor.
C.Its original customers had grow up.
D.It paid too much attention to technology.
25. What can we infer from Amanda Madore’s words
A.The company mainly aims to attract kids.
B.Lego bricks are of really high quality.
C.Lego bricks help deal with mental problems.
D.The company will satisfy individual needs.
26. What can we conclude about Lego bricks from the last paragraph
A.They can be regarded as a treatment.
B.They can promote communication.
C.They can improve education systems.
D.They can take the place of other toys.
27. What is the main idea of the text
A.When Lego became popular.
B.Why Lego has stood the test of time.
C.What Lego has taught builders.
D.How Lego bricks were created.

It’s no secret that concussions (脑震荡) are a common issue in sports. About 3.8 million concussions from sports-related injuries occur annually in the U.S alone, and it’s estimated that as many as 5 to 8 percent of all athletes in the country suffer a concussion in any given sports season. While there have been many advancements in protective equipment in sports to try and prevent such injuries, the best way to avoid the long-term effects of brain trauma is often simply identifying and treating them early.
Luckily, a team from Michigan State University developed a wearable patch that produces electrical energy when physically touched or pressure is applied for immediate recognition of concussions during high-impact sports. Researchers developed the device, which is about the size of a band-aid that can be worn on the back of an athlete’s neck and sense when a concussion has occurred. More specifically, the device uses an electrical signal that can catch sudden neck movements, to warn its wearer and nearby medical teams to treat the injury immediately.
“Whenever there is movement of the neck, there is pressure either in the form of contraction or tension,” Nelson Sepúlveda, a professor of electrical engineering, said. “Those movements are picked up by the patch and translated to an electrical signal used to estimate the speed of neck movement, both then applied to concussion predictions.”
To test the patch, the team attached the patch to a dummy (假人), dropped it from two feet in the air, and found that the device was 90 percent accurate in sensing a potential concussion event across different patch sensor devices.
The researchers now hope to continue to tweak their patch so that it could eventually send the information wirelessly to a receiver that can store and create a database with all the pressure experienced by the athlete’s head, and establish a concussion prediction model. That can help its wearer detect concussions earlier or even predict when they might occur-and prevent them entirely. “The end goal is to have wearable, wireless patches that can provide real-time information about the head and neck movement of the athlete,” Sepúlveda said.
28. What problem is stressed in paragraph 1
A.The lasting impacts of sports injuries.
B.The lack of protective sports equipment.
C.The difficulty of checking brain injuries.
D.The high number of sports-related concussions.
29. What key feature allows the patch to function
A.Its strong adaptability to the human body.
B.Its reliable prediction of neck movements.
C.Its wireless connectivity with medical staff.
D.Its ability to make signals upon catching pressure.
30. What does the underlined word “tweak” in the last paragraph probably mean
A.Improve. B.Test. C.Finish. D.Introduce.
31. What will be the researchers’ next plans for the patch
A.Adding timely medical treatment.
B.Creating a database of athlete performance.
C.Building data for injury tracking and prediction.
D.Improving the comfort of the patch for wearers.

Thousands of people around the world are helping to save the world’s biggest fish. By taking photos of whale sharks, those helpful citizens are providing researchers with critical information about whale sharks’ locations and migration routes.
Whale sharks are endangered, with their populations worldwide having decreased by more than 50% over the past 75 years. Although protected in many countries, they are still killed by the fishing industry—caught intentionally and accidentally, especially in tuna(金枪鱼) fishing areas where whale sharks and tuna swim close together. Whale sharks are also threatened by oil and gas drilling, ship strikes and climate change.
To help protect the species, Australian biologist Brad Norman co-founded The Wildbook for Whale Sharks, a photo identification database that went online in 2003. Photography lovers, scientists and whale shark tour operators around the world contribute photos of whale sharks to the system, which uses NASA technology to map their locations and track their movements. Today, the database holds over 70,000 photos from more than 50 countries.
Pictures submitted to The Wildbook are analyzed by scanning the spots on the animal’s skin, which are as unique as human fingerprint, says Norman. Then it identifies the shark by searching the database for a matching pattern. This way, they can figure out which whale shark is where.
The data on whale shark locations and migration routes help scientists make strategies to protect whale habitat. “It’s so important to have the public assist with our project.” says Norman . He hopes to see more people join to help find out where the whale sharks go to mate. Protecting their breeding(繁殖) grounds is the “one big thing” needed to save the species in the long run. The help from thousands of citizens gives him a better chance of making that possible.
32. What can we learn about whale sharks in paragraph 2
A.They are sometimes caught by accident.
B.They are threatened by other fish species.
C.They change their migration routes a lot.
D.They often damage gas drilling platforms.
33. How is NASA technology used to help whale sharks
A.By photographing their unique skin spots.
B.By attracting sea creatures for them to hunt.
C.By comparing their body marks with stars.
D.By finding out their locations and movements.
34. What is key to whale shark protection in the long run
A.Identifying the number of their species.
B.Making sure more of their babies safely born.
C.Building artificial breeding grounds for them.
D.Making more people aware of their existence.
35. What’s the best title for this passage
A.Whale sharks are endangered
B.Find out the whale shark’s migration routes
C.The public help to save whale sharks through photos
D.Wildbook for Whale Sharks—a photo identification database

My first year of high school felt awkward. After I left junior high as a straight-A student, it felt strange starting over as a freshman. And to make matters worse, my closest friend went to a different high school. I felt very isolated.
I missed my old teachers so much that I would go back and visit them. They would encourage me to get involved in school activities so that I could meet new people. They told me that in time I would adjust and probably end up loving my new school more than I had loved my old one.
One Sunday afternoon not long after I had started high school. I was sitting at home doing homework. It was a cold and windy fall day, and we had a fire going in our fireplace. My mother kept stoking the fire to keep the house nice and warm. Suddenly. I smelled something strange, and then I noticed smoke pouring in through the seams (接缝处) of the ceiling. The smoke began to fill the room so quickly that we could barely see anything. Feeling about our way to the front door. we managed to get into the front yard. By the time we made our way outside. the whole roof was engulfed (吞没) in flames and it was spreading quickly. I ran to the neighbors to call the fire department.
Five hours later. the fire was finally out. Our house was almost completely burned down. Everything was gone in the smoke. The firemen wouldn’t let us go back into the house that night. It was still too dangerous. We piled into the car with just the clothes on our backs, and made our way to my grandparents’ house to spend the night.
On Monday. I went to school. When the fire broke out. I was wearing pajamas (睡衣), and I had no shoes! I had kicked them off when I was doing my homework. “Why I have to be here!” I cried inside, head hung low.
I was totally embarrassed by everything.

I was totally embarrassed by everything. I kept my head down all the way to my seat, afraid that my classmates would laugh at my strange clothes. I dared not talk to anyone and just sat silently. During breaks, I stayed in my seat alone, feeling lonely and upset. I thought everyone would notice my awkward situation and make fun of me.
The next day, when I entered the classroom, I was shocked. On my desk lay many new clothes and pairs of shoes. My classmates gathered around me with warm smiles. They learned about my trouble and prepared these things for me. Warmth filled my heart instantly. From then on, I started to talk and play with them. I finally felt belonging to this new school.
