Tanghulu was once a simple and classic street snack deeply rooted (扎根于) in Chinese culture. This autumn, milk skin tanghulu has become a big hit. It mixes traditional tanghulu with milk skin, a dairy product similar to thick cream, and covers them with crisp sugar.
On social media, many users share videos of this snack. Young people line up for hours to buy it in cities like Chengdu and Hangzhou. Most cost 15 to 25 yuan, but one Shanghai shop sells it for 98 yuan each. Even so, people still want it, and some sellers sell thousands of sticks a day.
Milk Skin Tanghulu
Ingredients Your favorite fruits White sugar Water Milk skin Dried yogurt Steps Step 1: Prepare Fruits Wash the fruits thoroughly. If using green grapes, cut them in half, carefully pick out the seeds, and put some dried yogurt inside. For fruits like strawberries, dry their surfaces completely with kitchen paper. Step 2: String (串起) Fruits Put the prepared fruits onto skewers (竹签) .
Step 3: Cook Syrup Mix sugar and water in a 2:1 ratio. Pour them into a pot. Bring to a boil over high heat, then turn to low heat. Cook until the syrup turns amber (琥珀色). Do not stir while cooking. Step 4: Combine with Milk Skin Turn the fruit skewers quickly to coat them nicely with the syrup. Then stick them to the milk skin (you can spread a little syrup on the milk skin first to make it stick better). Let them cool on wax paper for about 10 minutes.
Milk skin is high in fat and the heating process increases its calories (卡路里) . Too much sugar can cause skin problems and other health risks. On November 26, 2025, a terrible fire broke out in Wang Fuk Yuen, Tai Po, Hong Kong, which shocked the whole city. The fire started from the scaffolding on the outer wall of a building in Wang Fuk Yuen at about 2:51 p.m. Within just a few hours, it escalated to a Level 5 fire, the highest alarm level in Hong Kong.

The Three Gorges Dam (三峡大坝), lying on the Yangtze River in Hubei Province, is one of the largest and most amazing engineering projects in the world. It stands proudly between the beautiful mountains of Xiling Gorge, showing the wisdom and hard work of the Chinese people.
The Yangtze River, China’s longest river, often caused serious floods in the past, bringing disasters to millions of people. To solve this problem and create clean energy, the Chinese government decided to build a huge dam.
People began to build the Three Gorges Dam in 1994. And it took over 12 years to complete. Thousands of workers used modern machines and technology to make this dream come true. They moved mountains, changed the river’s path to build the dam, which is about 2.3 kilometers long and 185 meters high—as tall as a 60-story building!
Today, the dam plays a key role in China. It has greatly reduced flood risks protecting cities and farmlands. The dam’s power stations produce clean electricity for millions of homes and factories, helping reduce air pollution. Its connected system helps ships pass. Ships enter a lock and gates close. Water level inside the lock rises or falls to match the next section, When the water levels become the same, gates open, and the ship moves to the next lock.
The Three Gorges Dam is not just a dam—it’s a symbol of China’s courage and creativity. Visitors from around the world come to this modern wonder.
