Ⅳ.阅读理解(共15小题,计20)
第一节:根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。(共5小题,计5)
People often find it hard to make some inventions. So they think only a few people can be inventors! In fact, everyone can be an inventor if they want and are willing to start.41. ________ To be an inventor, here are some wrong ideas you should avoid.
Wrong idea 1: 42. ________
Well, inventing means creating something new, but the idea could also come from something that is already there. The Wright brothers, for example, got the ideas for building a “flying machine” from watching birds.
Wrong idea 2:Inventors are born, not made.
There are a lot of factors (因素) that make inventions possible. Take Mozart, for example. He was born with a special talent for music.43. ________ His father was a music teacher, and Mozart practised for hours every day. Thomas Edison said that being an inventor was “99% hard work and 1% inspiration!”.44. ________ As one inventor said, “A failure is the right answer to the wrong question!”
Wrong idea 3:Inventors are always old people.
45. ________ Here is an example of young inventors:When Chester Greenwood was 15, he invented earmuffs(耳罩). He hated his ears getting cold in winter, so he made them with fur and wire(金属丝). They are still widely used in cold weather today.
A.But other factors were also important for his creativity. B.Perhaps this sounds crazy, but it's true. C.Very successful creators don't give up when they get something wrong. D.An invention has to be something totally new. E.Believe that you can invent something when you are young.

B.solve a big problem
C.work with other teams
D.hand in their plans again
48.( ) Which of the following is TRUE

Plants can not move like animals, but they communicate and respond(回应) to the environment through their own movement—a type of “plant body language”. Scientists have been amazed by these movements and created inventions based on them.
Everyone knows sunflowers turn to face the sun as it moves across the sky. This gave engineers the idea to create SmartFlower solar panels(太阳能电池板). They are in the shape of flowers, and each “petal” (花瓣) is a solar panel. SmartFlower follows the sun all day. It helps produce 40% more energy than normal solar panels. After dark or when there's bad weather like heavy rain, the “petals” will close up.
Some plants, such as ivy (常春藤), can climb walls using sticky pads. The pads help ivy stick to wood, stone and other surfaces. After studying this plant, scientists created soft climbing robots. Though small, these robots are strong enough to move on different surfaces and turn corners. This allows them to work in hard to reach places.
Another amazing plant is the exploding cucumber (喷瓜). It has a cool trick. When it is touched, it shoots seeds up to 6 meters away! Learning from this plant's “body language”, medical researchers have developed a new way to send medicine to where it's needed in the body, just as the plants shoot seeds to the right places.
Plants may seem quiet and still, but their special movements have inspired real world inventions. Next time you see a plant, watch its “body language” carefully; you might catch the next scientific breakthrough!
49.( )Which picture best describes the invention in Paragraph 2
A. B.
C. D.
50.( )Where is the climbing robot designed to work
A.Under deep water.
B.In wide farm fields.
C.In narrow water pipes.
D.On open playgrounds.
51.( ) What is special about the exploding cucumber
A.It can play tricks on others.
B.It can send out the seeds far.
C.It helps people make medicine.
D.It can grow up to 6 meters tall.
52.( )What does the underlined word “breakthrough” probably mean in Paragraph 5
A.An important discovery.
B.A sudden fast movement.
C.A tool for studying plants.
D.A better way to grow plants.
C
①In today's world, scientists are developing creative solutions to environmental problems. Let's explore three groundbreaking ones.
② Engineers in Amsterdam have invented a new birdhouse. It has computers inside and is powered by solar panels(太阳能电池板) on its roof. When the air is clean enough, the birdhouse turns green and provides free WiFi to people nearby. If the air gets polluted(污染的), it turns red. People love this idea. They ride bikes more, so the air gets cleaner and they get free Internet.
③In Chile's dry desert areas, getting clean water is not easy. Scientists created a smart machine. It takes water from the air and works like this: when warm air touches its cold surface, water drops form — just like on a__cold__drink__can. The machine collects the water and cleans it. One such machine can produce enough water each day for a family of four to drink. Best of all, it uses solar power, so it works even in places without electricity(电).
④A famous British band had cool ideas for their concerts. They installed (安装) special floors on stage called “Kinetic floors”. The floors can make electricity when fans dance. The band also offered fans exercise bikes to ride, and this helped power the show! At one concert, the electricity fans made was enough to power 300 homes for an hour! Now, many other bands are following these cool ideas.
53.( )What can the birdhouse in Amsterdam do
A.Test the air quality.
B.Provide solar power.
C.Check WiFi speed.
D.Make weather reports.
54.( )Why did the writer mention “a cold drink can” in Paragraph 3
A.To compare cold drinks with hot ones.
B.To show how the smart machine works.
C.To test the readers on what the water cycle(循环) is.
D.To describe water shortage in desert areas.
55.( )What is the structure of the passage
A. B.
C. D.

Spring is coming, and it's time to enjoy West Lake Longjing tea! Usually, we think workers will pick tea leaves by hand. But now, some Longjing tea leaves are being picked by special workers—tea picking robots!
In a tea garden in Hangzhou, a smart tea picking robot invented by Zhejiang Sci Tech University is working for the first time.“We take thousands of pictures of new tea buds (芽) and make the robot learn them carefully. The robot uses an AI model to find the buds that it should pick,” said Professor Chen Jianneng, a member of the research team. This helps the robot find the right tea buds about 90% of the time.
The robot's arm pulls and then sucks (吸) up the tea buds. These buds are quickly moved into a special box.Once the robot has collected all the buds from the area it's working at, it moves the buds from the box to a main box.The main box holds everything it collects.
The robot was made because there are not enough people to pick tea.In Zhejiang, about 400,000 pickers are needed now.“Picking is the biggest challenge for the development of the tea industry,” said Professor Wu Chuanyu, the leader of the research team.
“Tea picking robots are a trend (趋势) of the future,” said Wu.“About five years from now, the robots will do the job of picking West Lake Longjing tea instead of people,” Wu added.
