Do you like rainy days in summer I kind of like them because the air gets fresher and cooler and it's comfortable to sleep with rain outside. I never thought rain could be so dangerous until that summer holiday in 2021.
It had been rainy for several days that summer. There was no sign of what was going to happen that day. In the morning, the sky was gray with light rain, so I went to my calligraphy class as usual, wearing a raincoat. No one expected the ordinary rainy weather would turn into a terrifying disaster overnight.
After class, the teacher asked us to go straight back home because the rain was getting heavier. Luckily, I hurried home safely before the downpour came.
When I finished lunch, I received a rainstorm warning message from China Mobile and one from the staff(工作人员) in our neighborhood, which asked us to stay inside, close the windows and move cars to a high place or parking lot. My parents called me to make sure I was at home. Just then I noticed that the rain got out of control and water was rushing down the streets like a river. Many cars on the road were flooded through my window. I used my phone to learn about what was going on outside. What I saw made my heart freeze water was pouring into subway stations; people were standing on seats, crying for help, cars were floating like toy boats; buses were caught under the bridge. "Is this real " I whispered(低语). I was filled with great fear and worried a lot about my parents' safety.
I called to my mom. "Don't worry. We are safe at the office. The roads are too dangerous to drive home. We'll stay here tonight." I felt relieved(放心的) but still worried. That night, I stayed with my grandma and kept checking the news. The rain didn't stop until the next morning.
When the flood finally went down, I learned a heartbreaking fact: many people had lost their lives in the disaster. The news made me feel deeply sad and afraid. At that moment, I realized that we never know what will happen tomorrow. We must treasure every moment and live today fully, not putting off what really matters.
Later, I decided to do something small. I helped clean the mud in our community and carried food to the elderly. It wasn't a big job, but it made me feel that I could bring some warmth to the world.

Recently, discussions about hearing problems which are caused by noise-canceling headphones(降噪耳机) got hot online.
Some netizens(网民) say their hearing gets worse after using noise-canceling headphones on noisy subways. However, experts point out that the noise-canceling technology itself is not the problem. It is long-time use and too-loud volume that really hurt people's ears.
So it's important to know how Noise-canceling headphones work. Actually, they produce special sound waves to block outside noise. Therefore, we don't need to turn up the volume with them. When used properly, they may even protect our hearing. However, if we use headphones for long hours at high volume in noisy places, our hearing may get worse. All kinds of headphones (in ear, Bluetooth, bone conducting ones) have similar risks.
Sun Yuying, an expert, says slight(轻微的) hearing problems can get better after rest. But serious damage to ear cells may lead to permanent hearing loss. The WHO reports over 1 billion young people aged 12-35 are facing such risks. High volume and longtime headphone use are main reasons.
Doctors give useful advice for safe headphone use: First, follow the "60-60 rule": use headphones for no more than 60 minutes at a time, and keep the volume below 60% of the maximum(最大值). Second, never use headphones in noisy places, because people will turn up the volume without thinking. Third, keep good living habits. Enough sleep helps protect our hearing. Fourth, go to see doctors at once if hearing problems appear.
31. What is the main reason for headphone-caused hearing loss
A. The noise-canceling technology. B. Bad quality of the headphones.
C. Long-time use and high volume. D. Noisy public places like subways.
32. Which of the following is NOT true about noise-canceling headphones
A. Proper use of them can protect our hearing.
B. They have similar hearing risks like other headphones.
C. We don’t need to turn up the volume with them.
D. They work by making louder sound waves.
33. What does the underlined word "permanent" mean
A. short-time B. lifelong C. sudden D. unbelievable
34. How is the passage organized
A. Opinion→Example→Result B. Cause→Experiment→Result
C. Fact→Reason→Conclusion D. Problem→Reason→Suggestion
35. What is the purpose of the passage
A. To tell us not to use noise-canceling headphones.
B. To introduce how noise-canceling headphones work.
C. To warn us of headphone risks and give safe-use advice.
D. To introduce different kinds of modern headphones.

27. A

What is it about / What’s the book about A 问 B 在想什么,B 说在考虑刚读完的书,A 自然追问“这本书是关于什么的?”
72 问“是否经常阅读”,一般疑问句或特殊疑问句均可。
解析:Do you often read / Do you like reading A 感谢推荐后,根据 B 下一句回答“阅读提高我对成长的理解”,反推 A 在问“你经常阅读吗?”
73 问“是否学过游泳”,用现在完成时 Have you ever…
解析:Have you ever learned to swim A 说在考虑学游泳,接着问 B,B 回答“我小时候学过”,所以 A 问的是“你学过游泳吗?”
74 陈述“游泳的好处”,句子完整、观点明确
解析:Swimming is really a good way to exercise / stay healthy / relax B 先肯定学过游泳,再补充观点,A 接着表示赞同并解释为什么有学游泳的计划,所以 B 说的是游泳的好处
