I wasn’t standing at the open door of a plane thousands of feet in the air, ready to jump out into the wild, blue sky. Rather, I was simply sitting on my bed, wearing my most comfortable clothes, and waiting to hit the “Enter classroom” button on my computer. I had signed up for an online language lesson with a Portuguese language tutor. For the past few months, I had been studying the language and I knew video chat was the next best option. As I clicked the button, a friendly face popped up on the screen in front of me. At that moment, my mind froze. Feeling my nervousness, my tutor said something I still remember today, “Learning a new language is like showing your weakness to the world. It can be uncomfortable.” The ice was officially broken. As I’ve progressed along on my language journey, I often think back to her insight. She is right. We take as a given the power to express ourselves freely, and when that power is taken away, we are brought to a place of weakness. Yet if we keep pushing forward despite this weakness, we will unlock a wealth of valuable gains. My three-year-old son has big feelings but has insufficient vocabulary to properly express himself. When I started learning Portuguese, I realized how difficult it must be for him to be understood in the adult world around him. I’m a better parent now. When my husband and I finally visited Portugal and ordered food in Portuguese at a small shop, the server thanked us for taking time to learn their language. Learning Portuguese taught me that attempting to learn someone else’s language shows respect not only for their homeland but for the people themselves.Taking on the challenge of Portuguese has also awakened a fire within me. If you had told me a year ago that I would be taking a writing course, competing in competitions at my gym, or learning about car maintenance, I truly wouldn’t have believed it. Now I deeply believe that challenging yourself can be rewarding in ways you will never know unless you attempt it.24. What was the author doing in Paragraph 1 A. Working out at home. B. Taking an entrance exam.C. Preparing herself for a class. D. Signing up for a language club.25. Hearing the tutor’s words, the author felt ______.A. shocked B. defensive C. concerned D. relieved26. After learning Portuguese, the author ______.A. showed competitive advantages B. started to try Portuguese cuisineC. developed a passion for travelling D. became an understanding mother27. What can we learn from the passage A. It is never too late to learn something new.B. Taking on challenges may bring perfection.C. Leaving the comfort zone offers new visions of life.D. Language learning helps clear up misunderstandings.CAnts rely heavily on smell signals to tell every member of the colony (群体) who belongs and who is an outsider. Their unique ID cards, based on alkalines (碱性物), work for individual recognition among ants. A new study conducted by the Max Planck Institute and published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reveals that human-caused air pollution may cause civil wars within ant colonies. The problem is with ozone (臭氧), a common urban pollutant that can easily degrade alkalines. You can see where this is headed. Researchers found that when ants from six different species were exposed to 100 parts per billion of ozone, a level commonly reached in major cities during the summer, their chemical signatures were obliterated in as little as 20 minutes. This was a full-on disaster for ant colonies. When worker ants exposed to ozone returned home, their own colony couldn’t recognize them anymore. In five of the six species tested, the colony reacted with immediate violence, threatening and attacking their own citizens. In separate experiments, urban-level ozone disturbed care behavior deep inside the colony, leading to the death of baby ants.Who Cares About an Ant Civil War You might think, well, they’re just ants. They’re small. Insignificant. But ants represent a huge part of the Earth’s biomass and do all of the dirty work that we take for granted, like turning soil, spreading seeds, and cleaning out ecosystems.Climate change and pesticides (杀虫剂) get a lot of the blame for population declines in all sorts of animal species, insects included, but this research is saying that, by making ants smell different, we are throwing their hyper-functional, ultra-cooperative societies into disorder and violence even without realizing it. Of course, what did we expect when air pollution started changing the chemical composition of the natural world We have a long bill to pay.28. What can ants’ ID cards help them to do A. Resist air pollution. B. Identify colony members.C. Distinguish their roles in the colony. D. Prevent colony conflicts.29. What does the underlined word “obliterated” in paragraph 2 mean A. Ruined. B. Recognized. C. Blocked. D. strengthened.30. What does the author think of ants according to paragraph 4 A. Socially active. B. Naturally defensive.C. Ecologically necessary. D. Environmentally sensitive.31. What is the author’s purpose in writing the text A. To describe how ants communicate. B. To show why ant population declines.C. To explore how ants keep the colony in order. D. To explain how ant colonies are affected by pollution.D“A city is not a problem to be solved,” said Marshall Brown, associate professor in Princeton’s School of Architecture. In Brown’s view, a city is a reflection of our social, political and cultural values. New technologies are less about giving us a perfect fix, and more about creating opportunities that we can use to solve problems. The technology that has been on Brown’s mind lately is the autonomous vehicle.Although today’s automakers are investing vast resources into self-driving cars, they’ve given far less thought to the design of the physical urban infrastructure (基础设施) to support them. Take road signs as an example. They were made to tell human drivers what to do. But driverless cars don’t need signs — they can get instructions from the road itself. Autonomous vehicles can navigate through information embedded in roads, by recognizing patterns, textures or materials. “We store information in the pavement, and this is environmentally sound, and is more beautiful, which is something that we care about in architecture,” Brown said.Another question is how autonomous vehicles will change the nature of pavement. Traditionally, the pavement steals spaces that could be covered in green spaces. But by making parking mobile, autonomous vehicles allow us to reduce the pavement footprint in the city. Parking by definition is fixed. Personal automobiles mostly sit unused while their owners are at work in the urban environment. However, when cars can drive themselves, they can navigate to lots far from urban centers, reducing the need for large, fixed parking spaces in valuable downtown areas. With autonomous driving, one change is that mobility will no longer be limited to people with driver’s licenses. People who cannot drive — or children who want to go to a friend’s house-can just hire driverless vehicles that will take them to their destinations. “Once you start thinking even a little bit about the impact of these technologies,” Brown said, “it explodes into thinking about everything at once.”32. What is Marshall Brown’s view on new technologies A. A problem to be solved. B. An opportunity for change.C. A threat to urban design. D. A sign of social development.33. Why does the writer mention “road signs” in paragraph 2 A. To call for attention to self-driving cars. B. To illustrate their environmental impact.C. To highlight their navigation effectiveness. D. To show the need to upgrade infrastructure.34. What might be a consequence of mobile parking A. Reduced traffic jams. B. Less travel time.C. Increased green coverage. D. More parking spaces.35. This is not just a social issue, but also an environmental one. When food is wasted, all the resources that went into producing it are wasted too. 36The production of different types of food requires varying amounts of water. Meat production, for instance, requires more water than the production of wheat, vegetables, or fruits. 37 Throwing away so much meat means that huge amounts of water are wasted along with it.38 Beyond wasting water, food production also pollutes it. Agricultural activities, especially farming and livestock (家畜) production, are major sources of water pollution. Animal agriculture produces huge amounts of waste, which often flow from crowded factory farms into rivers, groundwater, and the ocean. 39 In addition, pesticides and fertilizers used are washed into waterways with soil, damaging the environment. To save water and other resources, food waste must be reduced. 40 So change is badly needed at every stage of food production and consumption. In this way, it is possible to save water, ensure enough food and protect the environment.A. There is another hidden cost.B. Most loss occurs during transport.C. However, cutting food waste is challenging.D. Water use varies by a country’s development.E. This further damages limited water resources.F. Among them, water stands out as a critical loss.G. Despite this, meat is the food that is thrown out the most.第三部分:语言运用(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分第一节 完形填空 阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。I still remember the day I bought my “nice” notebook. Farmers move through trees, their baskets filling with fruit that shines in the warm autumn light. It’s 56 scene of abundance (丰盛) that would have been unthinkable just twenty years ago. The transformation is part of a quiet agricultural revolution — the northward march of Shaanxi’s apple belt, extending hundreds of kilometers into 57 was once an unyielding desert.Shaanxi’s traditional apple-growing areas were concentrated in the area north of the Weihe River. In recent years, the planting zone 58 (expand) northward all the way to the Maowusu Desert, which means one in every four apples 59 (harvest) in China now comes from Shaanxi. The story of this expansion is written in the weathered face of 85-year-old Zhang Binggui. In 2003, after retiring, he rented sandy land in Yulin, determined 60 (make) something grow. His early experiments with grapes and date trees ended in 61 (fail), drawing laughter from neighbors. However, Zhang’s perseverance led him to shift his focus 62 apples. Through years of trial and error, today, he, 63 (eventual) pioneered techniques for sandy soil, increased sales through e-commerce 64 brought their sandy land apples to the national market. This northward march is also a story written by the changing climate. Between 2010 and 2024, the city’s average yearly rainfall rose. Once known for its vast 65 (stretch) of shifting dunes (沙丘), the Maowusu Desert is now turning green. My Views on AI-Driven Mental Health Support on Campus________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________第二节 读后续写(满分25分)阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。The Garden Project That Bonded UsWhen Dad announced we would transform the overgrown backyard into a vegetable garden, I rolled my eyes while Tom, my 12-year-old little brother, cheered. “It’s a waste of time,” I complained, scrolling through my phone. “We could just buy vegetables from the supermarket.” Tom, however, had always dreamed of growing his own tomatoes — especially since Mom’s birthday was only three months away, and he’d been talking about picking fresh tomatoes to make her favorite pasta sauce. Dad smiled, handing us a list. “Lily, you’ll handle planning the layout and buying seedlings (幼苗). Tom, you’re in charge of clearing the weeds and digging the soil. Teamwork makes the dream work!” He paused, glancing at the calendar on the wall where Mom’s birthday was circled in red. “Three months is quite enough for those potato seedlings to bear fruit — perfect timing if we get started now.”The first weekend, conflict erupted. I spent hours researching online but forgot to buy the seedlings, comforting myself “too busy with homework.” Tom was pulling weeds for hours sweating profusely (大量出汗). Several days later, he marched into the garden expecting to find rows of seedlings, only to be met with empty yard, and then exploded with anger, shouting “You didn’t even do your basic job! I’m doing all the hard work while you’re sitting on the couch! Look! My gloves are worn out!” I fired back, “Digging is easy! My part requires intelligence, not just force!” We refused to speak to each other, leaving the half-cleared yard in chaos. Dad didn’t intervene (干涉) immediately, instead, he left a note on the kitchen table, “Labor teaches us responsibility, and teamwork means supporting each other, not blaming.”That night, I couldn’t sleep, remembering how Tom had helped me fix my bike last year even though he’d had a fever. Meanwhile, Tom lay in his room staring at the layout paper I threw to him earlier that week, recalling the way I’d worked on the layout drawings many times, saying, “Mom will definitely love it.”The next morning, I woke up at dawn, grabbed my wallet, and raced to the store. I came back with not just tomato seedlings but also a new pair of gardening gloves for Tom.注意:1.续写词数应为150个左右;2.请按如下格式在相应位置作答Tom was already in the backyard when I arrived. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Finally, the big day came — Mom’s birthday. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________预祝同学们取得好成绩!22025-2026学年度高二年级下学期期末综合素质评价答案听力: 1-5 ACACC 6-10 ACBBA11-15 BBACB 16-20 BAACC阅读:DCB CDDC BACD BDCD 七选五:FGAEC完型:BDCAA CBDDA CBBDC语填:56.a 57.what 58.has expanded/has been expanding 59.harvested 60.to make 61.failure 62.to 63.eventually 64.and 65.stretches应用文:My Views on AI-Driven Mental Health Support on Campus(正方)Nowadays, some campuses are adopting Al-assisted mental health counseling. Personally, I see this as an innovative and promising development. To begin with, these digital platforms create an accessible, judgment-free space where students can freely express emotional struggles, overcoming their initial hesitation to seek help. Furthermore, available 24/7, AI systems offer anxiety-easing tips, conduct basic mental health checks, and track emotional patterns. More importantly, they can quickly identify at-risk students who need urgent intervention. These features not only expand service reach but also allow human counselors to focus their skills on complex cases.Admittedly, such AI tools cannot match the understanding and care of human professionals nor their expert judgment. Yet their round-the-clock availability, real-time support and strong risk detection integrate well with traditional services to create a layered framework for timely student care.My Views on AI-Driven Mental Health Support on Campus(反方)Recently, the integration of AI-powered mental health support tools into campus services has emerged as an innovative trend. Yet, from my standpoint, this is a risky, ill-advised move that fails to meet students' core needs. To start with, unlike human counselors who can pick up on subtle facial expressions or unspoken feelings, such AI tools lack the emotional depth to truly connect with struggling students. Furthermore, their one-size-fits-all responses cannot adapt to individual backgrounds, such as a student stressed by family pressure to excel academically. Worse still, AI poses serious risks to privacy and emotional safety. The fear of sensitive thoughts being leaked can prevent students from seeking counseling entirely. For the well-being of students, campuses should invest in training more human counselors rather than relying on AI that risks doing more harm than good.读后续写:Possible versionTom was already in the backyard when I arrived. He was still digging, and yesterday’s anger faded in his expression. I stepped closer and held out the seedlings and gloves. “Tom, I’m really sorry. I should’ve done my part sooner,” I murmured. To my relief, he accepted them with a nod of forgiveness. “Let’s finish it together,” he replied. We quickly found our rhythm: he dug holes according to my layout while I nestled each seedling into its new home. By noon, every seedling stood upright in tidy rows. The messy backyard now held a promise of growth—and the quiet understanding between us was the sweetest reward of all. Finally, the big day came — Mom’s birthday. Leading her to the backyard, we watched her eyes light up at the rows of tomato plants heavy with fruit. Tom handed her a ripe tomato, while I presented the pasta sauce we’d made together from our harvest. The moment she tasted it, her eyes sparkled with tears. Hugging us, she whispered, “This is the best birthday gift I’ve ever had.” Dad stood by, his own eyes shining with pride. What we grew was more than tomatoes—it was love and trust, teaching us that true teamwork makes all our efforts worthwhile.听力材料(Text 1)W:I hardly go shopping by car now. Note-taking is an important skill not only for taking classes, but also for doing your job in the future. I'd like to draw your attention to certain points about taking notes.First, remember that note-taking should be75% listening and only 25% writing. So don't try to write down every single word the teacher says. Ignore what is unimportant and write in phrases not complete sentences. Second, leave spaces and lines between main ideas. You may want to add some information later. I find that some of you are good at making use of color, mapping web and symbols such as circles and boxes. I highly recommend these tools to all of you, because the use of them makes the outline more easily readable and interesting than large blocks of text. It also makes sure that important words stand out. Here are some examples...PAGE5 展开更多...... 收起↑ 资源列表 【试卷】河北衡水中学2025-2026学年高二下学期6月阶段检测英语试题.docx 河北省衡水中学2025-2026学年度高二年级下学期期末综合素质评价英语试题_英语.doc
