The old woman started the journey because her life was filled with regrets. When she was young, she was busy taking care of her family. She missed many beautiful moments in life.

When she turned 63,she realized that if she didn't go now, there might never be another chance.
In Miami,a curious reporter interviewed her.Although she looked tired, her eyes were bright, shining with kindness and quiet hope. The reporter wondered whether the unknown fears and difficulties and the hard journey had ever worried her.And how did she get the courage to keep going on such a long journey?

Have you noticed that people always say the music from their younger years is the best compared to other times? This may be because of something that can be called the "memory bump (记忆隆起)".
According to the BBC,the memory bump means that our memories from ages 10 to 30 are very strong. This period heavily influences our favourite books, films, sports stars, and especially music. This is because musical memories are stored in a "safe" area of the brain, which is more protected against age-related conditions. As a result, the music we listen to during these years usually has a lasting impact (持久影响),and is often remembered more warmly than music from other periods in our lives.
More importantly,"music is a time-based art form," Professor Robert Cutietta at the University of Southern California told CNN. "If you look at an artwork or something, you can look at it and leave.Music is over time."
Music from our younger years creates strong emotional bonds (情感纽带),mixing happy and sad feelings when we listen to it.When the songs are related to your experience, memories of those experiences will come back as you listen to the songs again.
Sometimes, with a change in experience, the sadness you felt before when listening to a song can later turn into joy. This can explain why listening to something from the harder time in your younger life can bring a sense of comfort now.
23.What does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about?______
A. Music from youth is best.
B. Ages 10-30 shape music taste.
C. Brain protects early memories well.
D. BBC studies favourite films and music.
24.What is Professor Robert Cutietta's opinion on music?______
A. Music is easy to understand. B. Music is more fun than films.
C. Music happens over a period. D. Music brings back old memories.
25.What returns when you hear songs tied to your past?______
A. Sad moments. B. Past memories. C. Lost people. D. Happy times.
26.What does the underlined word "This" refer to in the last paragraph?______
A. Hard times in youth. B. Listening to old songs.

In the summer of 2025,university students across Europe tried to make the perfect rover (探测器) for Mars. They took part in the European Rover Challenge, which ended on August 31 in Poland. The winning team was EPFL Xplore from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. The team's rover got the highest score with their creative design.
During the race, the rovers did many tasks, such as getting samples (样本),fixing things, and working with drones (无人机) to find things.
One big challenge was making sure the rovers could work autonomously. That means they can make decisions and complete tasks without help from humans far away.Since signals take minutes to travel between Earth and Mars,real-time control is impossible. So,the rovers must be smart enough to act on their own.
The race tried to copy the environment on Mars. But rovers on Mars have to deal with even worse situations. There is not a lot of air on Mars, which makes it hard for parts of the rover to work well. The planet can get really cold and then warm, from around -125℃ to 20℃.These big temperature changes can make things break or stop working.Mars also has strong harmful energy from space. It can slowly make parts like electronics and the machines of rovers get worse and not work properly.
Scientists have come up with many ideas to deal with these conditions.Take China's rover Zhurong as an example. To deal with the big temperature changes,it uses two heaters and aerogel (气凝胶) to help keep it warm.
27.Which team won the rover competition?______
A. The Polish team Rover One. B. The Swiss team EPFL Xplore.
C. The Chinese team Zhurong. D. The German team Mars Lab.
28.What does the underlined word "autonomously" mean in Paragraph 3?______
A. With help from scientists on Earth.
B. Without instructions from humans.
C. By using sunlight to make power.
D. In communication with other rovers.
29.What is difficult for rovers on Mars according to the text?______
A. Sending pictures to scientists. B. Moving across the flat ground.
C. Finding water under the surface. D. Keeping their parts working well.
30.What is the best title for the text?______
A. A student event about Mars rovers
B. How Mars rovers work on Earth
C. Challenges and ways for Mars rovers
D. What Zhurong rover explores on Mars

Chimpanzees sometimes use leaves or insects as medicine.Do you know they can also give "first aid" to each other?Scientists studying in Uganda found this.
Chimpanzees are very similar to humans,so scientists study them a lot.For example, when they are sick or hurt, they find ways to care for themselves.
In 2021,Dr Elodie Freymann went to the Budongo Forest to study chimpanzees. She wanted to learn how they deal with their wounds. Her team looked over 30 years of research records and spent eight months studying two groups of chimpanzees.
They found 34 examples of chimpanzees taking care of their own wounds, often by licking (舔) themselves or using leaves. This helps them get better and not get sick again.Sometimes, they chew (咀嚼) plants and put them on wounds. The chewed leaves cover the cut and keep it clean.Licking can clean cuts and stop infection (感染).Some plant leaves can do this too.
Even more interesting were the seven examples of chimpanzees helping others. In one example,a young chimpanzee licked another one's leg to help clean the wound.
A big question is whether these actions are natural or taught. In one example,a young chimpanzee watched her mother chew a leaf and put it on a cut.Freymann thinks some actions are natural, but others are taught. She plans to keep studying to find out more.
(1) Where did Dr Elodie Freymann study chimpanzees in 2021?
______
(2) What do chimpanzees sometimes chew and put on their wounds?
______
(3) Why did a young chimpanzee lick another one's leg?
______
(4) Do you agree with Freymann according to the last paragraph? Why or why not?Write 30 words or more.
